Why did this happen?
I don't know.
How did this happen?
I don't know.
You see, I died. No biggie there. However, as a devout follower of nihilism, I should have just forever gone to sleep or at least had my consciousness erased or something. However, I have not, as you should know by the fact that I am not, well, dead.
Instead, right after dying at the hands of something that I can't remember for some god-knows-reason, I found myself in a new, unfamiliar body.
I'm not entirely unfamiliar with the whole transmigration thing that sometimes happens in mangas, animes or novels, however, those are just that, fiction. Unfortunately, for me, this is not fiction, even though it would be kinda cool if my whole life was actually a book or something that someone just wrote out of boredom.
Nevermind, that's actually really depressing. I should probably go back to checking out the same exact fucking wall I've been staring at for an entire god damn day.
Yeah, I think I'm starting to go insane.
----------------------------------------
When I woke up, I was very surprised, and it would be a lie to say that I didn't panic a bit. I mean, who wouldn't, really?
Nonetheless, as the calm and collected person that I am (pfft), I soon calmed down and began to sort out all the new memories that I suddenly found in my brain. It was kind of a cool experience, albeit a bit weird and disorienting.
I won't go too much into details, but apparently, the world I was reborn into was one filled with monsters and magic. Though that bit was obvious enough judging by the fact that my body is... abnormal.
After going through all the information that I gained, I realized that this world was the exact same one as the one in Fallen Utopia Online.
With nobility ruling the world from the shadows, demons threatening to destroy the world, heroes wielding the power of light and hope... I honestly didn't know what to say about it.
After comparing notes with me, myself and I, I realized that the body I currently possess is the very same one the final bossed had.
Hence, adding two and two together, my beautifully smart mind came to the conclusion that I am a normal human.
...
Yeah, I wish. Having a body that is literally a hundred meters tall and with a snake-like lower body surely makes me a normal human.
The Ruler of the Hells. The Sovereign of Death and Darkness. The Hardest Boss. It was a once-in-a-lifetime boss capable of taking on multiple top-tier guilds at once and still winning. The only way to defeat it was, simply put, cheat your way into victory.
The boss had around 999.999.999 health with a regen rate of over 10.000 health per second, so it was impossible to defeat it under normal means. Nonetheless, the developers decided that, although players couldn't kill it, they could still seal it if they went through a tedious and ridiculously long quest chain that would eventually let a person seal the boss away.
I naturally wasn't there for when it happened, but I do know that the players that eventually managed to do it received rewards worth tens of thousands of real-world money. Not a small amount.

Anyways, after sealing it, the boss just kind of faded away from all the hype. There were a couple of other insanely strong bosses, but none as insane as this one was. In the end, after a book about the game came out, the boss ended up being referred to as an evil god whose goal was to get revenge on the Overgod who created the world.
Although there are some bits and pieces missing, most of the book written back then coincides with the memories of the boss. There is just one piece missing, and that is the boss' name.
For example, in the book, the boss was stated to be some sort of incarnation of evil, but in the memories, I can safely conclude that it was all just a huge misunderstanding.
The boss never truly wanted to be the villain. Sure, it wasn't an exactly moral character, but it was by no means what the book made it out to be, even if it was only side-mentioned a couple times. In his memories, the boss was simply too strong, and always ended up breaking things. Or people. Or both.
I sighed. The book never even recorded the boss' real name, which the developers never leaked out. However, I do know.
Atlantis, or Atlas for short. The Overgod had created him as the very first inhabitant of the world, and for that reason, always had a very intimate relationship with him. Despite that, after a while, the Overgod was forced to completely let go of the world and only watch from above, never intervening.
Despite that, it would sometimes give Atlas instructions. The Overgod always sought perfection, and to achieve perfection, one needed change. Humans didn't like that, so they sealed Atlas away.
At least, that's what my memories tell me. Atlas' memories.
It's complicated. There is nothing stating why exactly Atlas died, if it did, that is. All I know is that I am stuck in his body. My body.
With a surprisingly soft sigh coming from a 100-meter monster, I silently looked at all the chains tightly coiling around my arms, neck and the 10 rings piercing into the skin of my tail.
I could barely move. Despite this body's tyrannical strength, these chains were rumored to have been made from the very core of the world, and they were not so easy to break. Furthermore, he can't even use magic since the Overgod considered it treacherous and being the daddy's princess that I am, I have to obey him.
Another thing I idly noted was that, surprisingly, I didn't feel all that uncomfortable in my new body. Even after only a day of being in here, I already felt the repulsion fade away.
Sure, it's not easy to adapt to a body that is a mix between a giant snake and a demon, but it's not as bad as it sounds. After all, Atlas' body was more like that of a naga, with a human torso and head along with a snake-like lower body. There are some horns and spikes here and there, but it's not that different from a human.
In fact, it's not even that bad. Just being alone, chilling here, with nothing to do nor anyone to have to obey... it's not bad. Just... I felt somewhat... sad. It's hard to explain... I just felt empty.
"... Father... I miss you." I whispered as, for unknown reasons, a single tear slid down my cheek. Chances are, that tear could very well contain a poison strong enough to kill a thousand grown men, and yet, I couldn't even find the humor to make a joke out of it.
"..." I didn't say anything for the next hour. Atlas only needed to feed on the mana everywhere to live, so I would never starve to death, and yet, a feeling similar to hunger gnawed at me. My stomach hurt and my chest tightened painfully.
It was bullshit. Didn't I have the strongest body in this world? Aren't I the mighty Atlas, the first creation? Why do I have to feel pain like this?
I wanted to move, but I couldn't. The chains never even budged an inch, no matter how hard I tried.
After yet another hour of suffering, I started crying. It was pitiful, and yet, I could clearly remember Atlas, I, crying several times like this.
Truth be told, despite his fierce appearance, Atlas was never particularly brave. He would get the job done, but I could never do it splendidly. I would always fail, end up messing up somewhere. No matter what I did.
Even during the fight with the 'heroes', the only reason Atlas lost was that he ended up running away. If he hadn't, he never would have ended up in that cursed trap.
It was unbearable. As a human in my past life, I had only lived a measly 27 years. Meanwhile, Atlas had lived for millions, and he had spent over a thousand years locked in this cage.
For a lowly human like me to understand just how long a thousand years truly is would be impossible if I did not have all of Atlas' memories. Having spent a thousand years, locked in here alone, Atlas had at first been pissed and angry, but as time passed, I became desperate. I was alone.
A lowly existence, a human, eventually found it's way into the mighty Atlas. Nobody knows how, not even the Overgod. And yet, neither Atlas nor the human rejected each other, for they each were similar in their own ways. As the days passed, a strange fusion happened.
