Part 22- The Yucky

Part 22- The Yucky

The first thing that told the wolfgirl there was a confrontation wasn’t the sounds; it was the scent. The taste of the air changed and a moment later, she heard the barking and the snarling. She was surprised but like a moth to a flame, she went towards the sounds.

The rooms on the third room were set in a haphazard way but after days of living there, the wolfgirl knew her way around. The darkness of the floor was of no concern to the wolfgirl as her Night Vision allowed her to see in the dark, but even without her Night Vision, the loud sounds would have told her the source of the sounds came from the room where the rest of the pack was living in. Then the scent turned violent and the wolfgirl started to run.

As she entered the room, she saw two of the pack rolling on the ground. Then the one on the bottom kicked the other away. Both of the fighters got up and began growling at each other. The wolfgirl was confused. She had no idea why this was happening. Just this morning, the pack was running in The Kar as one. Everything was great, just what had happened?

The fight continued while she was musing and after a while the wolfgirl noticed that while the fight was real, the duo was not trying to kill each other. The claws were withdrawn and while there was biting neither of the males were trying to maul each other.  The reason for the fight then dawned on the wolfgirl.

The wolfgirl looked around and saw the others. The remaining 3 members of the pack were females and they were on the far side of the room. All 3 of them were laying on the ground with their ears drawn back and their tails lowered on the ground. The wolfgirl instinctively know these were signs of submission and also quickly understood the fight was one of dominance. A sick feeling engulfed the wolfgirl.

No matter who won, the wolfgirl understood what would happen next. The 5 other members of the pack were family, all born of the same litter, the wolfgirl was the only outsider. It only made sense what the winner of the fight would do.

As a slave in her past life as a human, sex was not something new to the wolfgirl. Although not stunningly beautiful like her former mistress Kyla, the wolfgirl was pleasant looking enough to have her share of admirers and on several occasions, the wolfgirl was used by her former mistress to close off deals. As a slave, her body was just another commodity to be traded and she had long learned how to fake how pleased she was with the attentions of “her betters”.

So the wolfgirl was not ignorant of the way of the world, she was however disappointed. She had thought, had hoped, things would be different as one of the pack. She guessed some things were the same no matter what species you belong to.

Her musing was broken by the sound of yipping. The wolfgirl noticed the fight was over. One of the males was standing over the other who was flat on the ground. Both were breathing hard but she heard the faint sound of submission from the male on the ground acknowledging the winner as the alpha of the pack. The wolfgirl knew what was to come and she was unsurprised when the winner turned towards her.

The wolfgirl found that she was glad the winner was the wolfman who had been feeding her in the early days of her change and strangely, the wolfgirl thought she saw the alpha’s body growing. He looked a little sleeker than he normally does. The wolfgirl blinked several times and the growth just seemed to stop. She realized this must have been a trick of the mind, the same way a conquering hero seem greater and more glorious than the loser.

As the alpha came closer, the wolfgirl laid on the ground. Following the examples of the other females, she drew her ears back and lowered her tail to the ground. The alpha was soon standing on top of her. The wolfgirl turned and laid on her back. The alpha lowered himself, smelling and sniffing her. His scent was overpowering and the wolfgirl found a part of her excited at the prospect of mating with the alpha.

“Yes, this was what this is!”

This was not love, not marriage, but a mating. The human part of her might rebel at this, but the wolf part of her thought this was nothing more than what was to be expected. For the wolf, this was part of life, and once the wolfgirl realized it, things fell into place.

She was still thinking and feeling like a human! Well, she’s no longer that. She might not be a wolf but she definitely wasn’t human. She was now something else. Maybe she should ask the Creator to give the pack a name, something formal to call them. A snarl caught her attention. Her mind was wandering and the alpha did not like that.

The wolfgirl smiled, showing her sharp teeth. She would need to pay attention to this alpha; he was one of those males that liked attention from his…mate. The wolfgirl opened her legs and the alpha entered her. That night, there was no need for the wolfgirl to fake anything.

“Wow, would you all look at that?” one of the spirits in the hive asked.

“Oh, we’re looking all right!” another spirit said.

“All you sick…spirits!” one of the spirits fumed. “Cut that out! They’re not doing this for your viewing pleasure.”

“Well, if they don’t want us to watch, they shouldn’t have done this inside the tunnels!” one of the viewing spirits calmly said. “Since they are doing it inside the tunnels, we can watch so some of us choose to do so.”

“Why?” one of the opposing spirits asked. “Why would any of you want to watch something so…yucky?”

“Yucky? What’s yucky? This is not yucky! This is…natural.”

“…you guys will say anything just to continue watching won’t you?”

“…we shall neither admit nor deny anything.”

“Oh you sick…oh!”

“Look, it’s happening right now.” One of the spirits said. “If some of you don’t want to watch, then don’t. No one’s forcing you to. In fact, why don’t you guys go do something else to occupy yourself while the rest of us…watch a thing of natural beauty?”

“Oh…ah forget it. We can’t make you guys stop watching. Come on guys, let’s try to find something to do till this is over.”

The spirits of the hive who did not want to intrude on the privacy of the wolfmen tried to find something else to focus on. The first thing they tried to do was to drop the traps. They figured if the traps fell, even if they don’t kill the bats, the noise would disturb the wolfmen enough to stop their act of passion. Of course being a hive, the other spirits immediately noticed this and put a stop to it. No traps would be falling this night!

Then the spirits decided to move as far away from the duo as possible. At the entrance of the first floor, they noticed their saviors. The creatures the humans called horses were milling inside the entrance as it was raining outside. The horses would have to do.

With most of the hive watching the yucky, the spirits couldn’t draw on the hive’s full power. This did not deter them. The spirits drew on all the energy they could and poured them into the horses.  They noticed another issue. The hive had never absorbed a horse before! They had no idea what the inside of a horse was like! The spirits quickly decided to avoid changing the horses but it still had energy it needed to get rid of.

The spirits poured the energy over the 5 horses without thought or direction. It was just a general release of energy over the 5 creatures. To its great surprise, the influx of energy did change the horses. All 5 horses turned white and a long slender spiral horn grew out of their foreheads. They also grew a billy-goat beard, and now had choven hoofs. To some of the spirits, it looked as if the horses had become a cross between a horse and a goat!

However, even these spirits had to admit there was something incredibly graceful and slightly majestic about these new horse creatures. The spirits became to wonder what would happened if the hive just poured energy into other creatures without thought; would the results be as unique and good as these creatures? Their actions drew the attention of the other spirits of the hive and soon the whole hive was focusing on the 5 new creatures.

“What are they?” one of the spirits asked.

One of the spirits who made the creatures was also one of the spirits who believe the hive was a god. It decided to answer. “They are unique and they have a horn on their heads. Let’s call them Unicorns!”
