It's been about 3 days since I left the forest of gillians and unsurprisingly I haven't found Las Noches yet. All I can see is gray sand as far as the horizon goes.
Luckily, I found a few hollows that I could eat up to stave off starvation and mental degradation. 'I wonder how long it'd take before I could find it.' I think as I continue walking forward.
Luckily, I have my sensing ability, or I would have been walking in circles the whole time. I move forward before sending out another barely noticeable pulse of spiritual energy to use spirit sense as it works kind of like a radar where I send a pulse of energy out and feel the interruptions that the pulse meets with to discern what is in my surroundings. It's not very clear but I have to make do with what I have as the only sensing ability of hollows that didn't come with their special abilities, which only a few have is pesquisa which only arrancars can use after they become arrancars so tough luck.
This time I got a hit, some hollows were in range and there were five of them. I was wondering how to attack them when I felt that the situation was kind of strange as hollows were naturally not social creatures and while they were all adjuchas with intelligence it doesn't change their inborn nature especially since there was no vasto lorde ordering around this group of hollows..., or was there?
I decided to stay back and follow them stealthily instead. It took hours before anything happened as I followed them, and I was already pretty tempted to pick one out for a quick snack when I noticed a cave in the direction we were headed.
'That can't be harribel's cave right as she was the only one in the canon that was recorded to have lived in a cave.' I think as I continue following the hollows.
When they were about thirty meters away from the entrance of the cave a spiritual pressure suddenly erupted from the cave bearing down on everything in the vicinity.
I almost released my own spiritual pressure in response to counter the pressure but managed to stop myself in time as doing that would give myself away. I still fell face first into the sand though.
Luckily, because I fell on sand, I didn't make much noise and since the hollows I was following were already doing their best to counter the spiritual pressure bearing down upon all of us they didn't notice anything.
Suddenly we heard footsteps from the cave, as somehow even with the continuous droning noise that all of the spiritual pressure being released caused, it didn't stop us from hearing the graceful cat-like footsteps.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
When the owner of the cat-like footsteps came into view, I saw what I can only describe as a 5 ft tall cat girl.
She had a long slim white tail with black cat-like stripes on it, a pretty slim and flexible looking body with a white cat-like mask with cat ears and whiskers in the form of three thin black stripes on both sides of her face.
'Hmmm, no need for appraisal, she's flat… no I mean she's a vasto lorde.' I think as I notice her withdrawing her spiritual pressure and use that chance to stealthily draw back as I don't wanna be close enough for her to sense me if she was gonna wipe out the hollow party that was before her as I am pretty sure she has good senses since she was able to notice the hollows from over thirty meters away.
I was now pretty far enough from the location but was still able to use spirit sense to keep track of the situation. Like I already said the spirit sense is not really that advanced and I also wouldn't be able to hear if they had a conversation, but it was better than nothing.
While using spirit sense I was able to discern that they were having a conversation that seemed to get her angry as she killed two of the hollows talking at the moment and then seemed to shout something at the remaining three hollows that were already running away.
I quickly followed the three hollows running away but made sure to take note of this area as I may need to come back here later.
While following the hollows from far behind I thought about whether I should continue watching their charade, but later decided to eat them in three hours if I couldn't gain anything from listening in on their conversation during that time. I was already pretty hungry after all.
I got closer as stealthily as I could to them, and it was pretty easy as after running for a while and making sure that cat girl wasn't following them, they slowed to a walk though they still seemed to be in a hurry.
After following them for two hours, I was already about to say, "fuck it" and just attack them when one of them said something quite interesting.
"What do you think Barragan sama would say after he finds out?" The first hollow asked his comrades.
"I'm sure he'll be very angry." The second hollow answered with a weird sounding Indian accent and hand gestures while also repeatedly moving his head.
"Hey what do you think he'll do to us?" The third one also asked.
They all paused as a shiver seemed to have run down their spines because I'm pretty sure they all knew that Barragan wasn't exactly "Boss of the Year."
"Hey, it's not our fault that that Velocidora doesn't want to submit to Barragan sama." The first hollow seemed to have recovered from his stupor and answered back but I know he probably has cold sweat pouring down his back at just the thought of telling Barragan the results of their mission.
Their conversation seemed to have ended there as they quickly picked up speed again towards where they were going which I was now sure was probably Las Noches.
I quickly followed after them while all the cogs in my brain was working at top speed as a plan began to formulate in my head.
After another hour of following them, I had the plan fully formed in my head and for the first step of the plan two of the remaining hollows needed to die.
As for the one to survive, 'hmmmm…, maybe the second hollow since he was funny.'
