Chapter 18 the third generation begins

Chapter 18 the third generation begins

“And so it was that Silof and Fay, along with Annabel and Jasper, perhaps the only four people left who did not go with the trend of having your loved ones back in the form of mechanical dolls. But before we go deeper into that story and see where it brought us, we should go see what New Albion looks like, about twenty years from now.”

“As the years had flown by, there were new faces and new places in New Albion, but Edgar had become the most powerful man in New Albion. After years and years of people bringing back the dead, droves of the dolls fill the city, in both the lower and upper class. Just as Silof had feared, they fill the slums, the alleyways, people’s homes. You could not move one inch in New Albion before seeing a doll.”

“But these dolls, despite the many years that passed, did not talk, no they did not even walk as people used carts to drag them everywhere. The dead people inside these mechanical dolls were miserable and only wanted to go back to Elysium. Now, the Mafia, while still owned by Edgar the dwarf’s son, no longer is the head of the Mafia.”

“No, he was the mob boss for many years to come, but then he was run out by two women and a brilliant mouse named Sam. That is one old mouse, it must be because of the project he was in. Did you know that mice are sentient species in New Albion? They were created by Beltaine Industries.”

“Now that the mob boss was run out, the two women took over and separated themselves from Edgar, not wanting to deal with the man who is raising the dead. These women did not even bring back the dead. Despite that, Edgar did not bother, as he had enough other lackies to do what he wanted.”

“There is now a cult as you may call it, they call themselves the Voodoopunks and they worship the dolls. We are going to look at three important people from this generation who are among these Voodoopunks.”

“First up, we have Amelia, she has an abusive father, what does this young lady look like?”

“Amelia possesses an ethereal beauty, with haunting eyes that reveal both pain and determination. Her features reflect a mix of innocence and a quiet strength that has developed in response to her tumultuous upbringing. Her hair, dark and untamed, cascades in loose waves around her shoulders, serving as a visual representation of her free-spirited nature.”

“Amelia’s attire is distinctive, often adorned in flowing, ritualistic robes that echo the aesthetics of the Voodoopunks. The robes are rich in symbolism, embroidered with intricate patterns and symbols representing the mysticism embraced by the cult.”

“She is going to play a significant role, now our second cult member that we want to focus on is called Jackie, which is short for Jacqueline. Just like Amelia and the other Voodoopunks, she loves the dolls, her own doll is named Thiccy Viccy.”

“Jackie exudes a captivating elegance. Her tall stature, combined with a confident posture, commands attention as she navigates the intricate rituals of the Voodoopunks. Her hair, a cascade of dark curls, frames a face marked by a delicate strength that reflects both wisdom and a profound connection to the spiritual realm.”

“Draped in elaborate ceremonial robes adorned with symbols and patterns significant to the Voodoopunks culture, Jackie’s attire signals her elevated status within the cult. The robes, rich in deep, mysterious hues, billow gracefully as she moves, creating an almost ethereal aura around her.”

“Jackie’s eyes, deep pools of intensity, convey a mixture of solemnity and passion, reflecting the weight of her responsibilities within the Voodoopunks. Despite the gravity of her role, there is a warmth to her gaze that suggests a genuine dedication to the well-being of those around her.”

“As you might have gathered by now, these Voodoopunks are going to play an important role, but we are missing a very important member. For this part, I will narrate in short what happened to Fay after we left her with Edgar, Annabel, Jasper and Silof.”

“Fay gave birth to a healthy son named Byron. She managed to keep him far away from Edgar, he was not even very interested in his own son. Edgar and Fay did spend time together, she went along with the facade and married Edgar. However, behind his back she spends nights away with Silof while they planned Edgar’s downfall.”

“Byron, the fiery-haired young man, stands as a central figure within the Voodoopunks, sharing leadership responsibilities with Amelia and Jackie. His vibrant red hair, a striking contrast to the somber tones of the cult’s ceremonial attire, symbolizes his passionate and rebellious nature.”

“He has inherited traits from both his parents, Byron possesses his mother Fay’s resilience and strength of character. His leadership in the Voodoopunks stems from a deep desire to challenge the oppressive system created by his father, Edgar. Despite the dark circumstances of his parentage, Byron harbors a profound love for his mother, Fay. This maternal bond serves as a guiding force in his life, motivating his actions and decisions within the Voodoopunks.”

“Byron is well aware of his mother’s secret relationship with Silof. The doll that houses the consciousness of his grandfather, Jasper, has been passed down to him. This inheritance creates a unique connection between Byron and the mechanical doll, forming a bond that transcends the boundaries between the living and the artificial.”

“His resentment towards his father, Edgar, is palpable. Fay has shared the painful truths of her forced union with Edgar, fueling Byron’s disdain for the man responsible for the oppressive regime in New Albion. The growing rift between father and son pushes Byron to reject the wealth and privilege that accompany his lineage. Despite his father’s attempts to shape him in his image, Byron distances himself from the world that Edgar has crafted.”

“Byron holds a revolutionary vision for New Albion, advocating for the election of the dead as the city’s mayor, the mayor would be no other than Jasper. This unconventional perspective reflects his rejection of the societal norms established by his father. He is involved in the secret plan to take down Edgar. He is working with Silof and his mom to stop his oppressive regime and ruling of New Albion. But Byron has a dangerous side, as he does want the dead in New Albion.”

“While rejecting many aspects of his father’s world, Byron paradoxically finds solace and appreciation for the mechanical dolls he crafts. Their existence becomes a symbol of resistance against Edgar’s tyranny. The dolls, with their artificial nature, represent a connection to the past and a rebellion against the forced conformity of the present.”

“In his pursuit of a just and liberated New Albion, Byron becomes a charismatic and dynamic leader, fueled by a potent mix of love, rebellion, and a desire to free the city from the shackles from his father’s oppressive rule. But if Edgar no longer rules New Albion, what will happen? Where is Fay?”

“Fay, who is now in her forties, is in her house at this moment as the Voodoopunks gather on the crossroads of New Albion to announce their plan. Edgar wants a new Mayor for New Albion, and Byron wants Jasper to take that position. Edgar is spending a lot of time in his factories, and during that time, Fay is at home with Silof.”

“Or when she takes a walk, she visits the garden where Silof lives. Slowly but surely the time comes to take down Edgar, and destroy the dolls, but what if Byron finds out that this is her mother’s real plan? Not just to stop the oppressive rule of New Albion but get rid of the dolls?”

“We will soon start this generation with Byron and his movement, but let us take a look at Silof an older man now, but still charming and Fay spending time in her garden.”

Fay sat on her bench in the garden with Silof next to her, “Silof, it is finally going to happen, after many years of sneaking around, Byron is going through with his plan, he is going to stop Edgar.”

Silof took her hand and smiled, “I know, I am just glad that Edgar is spending barely any time at home lately, he has become very distant lately, hasn’t he?”

Fay nodded, “Yes, it is because I have never been truly his, I think his, somewhere in his twisted head knows this. Annabel and I have been feeding Byron all the information he needs to distance himself from Edgar, I just wish he knew what we know.”

Silof gave her a kiss, “We can’t tell him, he is in love with these dolls, if he knows the real plan, then he is, going to call it quits, we can’t have that. You can explain it to him later.”

Fay sighed deeply, “I cannot believe how hard these last twenty years have been on us, being married to Edgar, it was rough, but at least I had you. Soon he will be gone, is it just me or does Byron show no interest in women?”

Silof chuckled, “No, he doesn’t, that’s fine with me, and yes, these years have been hard, knowing you spent time with Edgar, are you seriously going to kill him?”

“Yes, but, I need to wait for the right time, then we will leave New Albion.”

Silof looked at his watch, “I think your fake husband is about to come home, I should go,” he gave her another kiss. “Give Annabel my greetings when you can.”

Fay shed a tear, “I always hate it when you need to leave.”

He gave her a warm smile, then he climbed over the fence as if he had been practicing for the last twenty years. “See you soon, my love.”

Fay looked at him leaving, she stared at her garden, “This hell is almost over.”
