Chapter 245: Void.

Chapter 245: Void.

The speed of the two charging Demonic beasts sank drastically after Yao Jun extended his domain, it was as if they had entered a quagmire. If he was trying to use just his law of darkness, Heliod would be able to easily dispel it using his law of light. But this was no ordinary darkness, this was the domain created by Yao Jun fusing all his laws into it, it was his abyss.

Xiao Yan had revealed Yao Jun's secret, telling everyone he knew that he had an unknown fragment of the Supreme Law of Demons. Just like he said, it wouldn't take long for the entire universe to know. The secret Yao Jun had worked so hard to keep had been laid completely bare, there was no telling just how many people would try to come for him to take his God Gate. As such, Xiao Yan would receive no mercy from Yao Jun.

Yao Jun's sword dissolved into the darkness, his own body vanishing directly afterward. Xiao Yan quickly raised both his shortswords and tried to call out a warning, but it was already too late. The darkness around Regali squirmed, tendrils of black fire lashing out at him as the darkness around his body grew so viscous it was like he was trying to move in the thickest of mud.

Georgios quickly stomped his feet, gravity around the tendrils of fire reversing, slightly slowing them down and somewhat diverting their course. Taric also jumped forward, his crystalline fur stretching outwards and turning into a thick shield to block the fire for Regali. Heliod also did his best to send out some beams of light, but all of them vanished before they were able to get close to the fire, swallowed by a crack in space that vanished as quickly as it appeared. Xiao Yan slashed out with his two shortswords, the attack causing a sharp wave of energy to fly through the darkness and clash with the fire, all of them doing their best to defend Regali.

And just as everyone was doing their best to defend Regali, Yao Jun launched his actual attack. Heliod's feet sank into the darkness beneath him, catching his attention for a split second as he unleashed his energy to pull his feet out of the darkness. And it was in this split second that Yao Jun appeared out of the darkness on top of Heliod, his sword aiming directly for Heliod's neck.

Heliod sensed the danger and dashed away as fast as he could, but the blade still stabbed into his left shoulder, piercing cleanly through the joint and drastically reducing his speed. The flames attacking Regali vanished, allowing Xiao Yan and the others to notice Heliod's situation and quickly rush to his aid. But just as they stopped defending him and turned away from Regali, his chest burst open, Yao Jun's black blade having appeared directly inside his body and piercing through his heart.

Regali didn't even get the chance to make a sound, his body collapsed into a heap and was swallowed up by the darkness. Yao Jun swept Xiao Yan and the three remaining Demonic beasts with a quick glance, a single cold word sounding from his lips as he vanished into the darkness again.

"One."

Xiao Yan's brows furrowed when he realized that the situation was unfavorable to them. Not only was he wounded by Mascheny's earlier attack, but they were also caught within Yao Jun's domain, which severely hampered their speed and strength. Xiao Yan and the others suddenly saw Yao Jun appearing above Taric, the surrounding darkness gathering around his sword as he slashed at Taric's neck.

Xiao Yan and his Demonic beasts quickly charged forward, Georgios dashing in front of Taric to block the attack with his own body, his metallic hide growing thicker and becoming covered in several thick spikes. Xiao Yan prepared to slash out with both his shortswords, but then suddenly turned around, calling out to Heliod.

"Heliod, careful!"

Just as Xiao Yan called out, the darkness around Heliod grew icy cold. He could see that the darkness concealed several thick spikes of ice that turned the darkness into an iron maiden as it pressed down on him. Had it not been for Xiao Yan's warning, Heliod was certain he would not have been able to defend against the attack in time.

Heliod wanted to let out a sigh of relief, but then both his and Xiao Yan's expressions grew dark, turning towards Taric. Yao Jun had appeared beneath Taric, his palm thrusting upwards and crashing into his chest. Taric's entire chest caved inward, his crystalline fur shattering under Yao Jun's immense physical might.

Just after Taric's chest caved inwards, several deep gashes spread out from the place where Yao Jun's palm hit him, several blades of wind and fragmented space slicing cleanly through him. The gashes immediately grew larger, splitting Taric's body into several pieces that were quickly swallowed by the darkness. His blood rained down on Yao Jun, but a burst of flames evaporated it before it managed to touch him. Yao Jun once again looked at Xiao Yan, speaking a single word.

"Two."

Georgios let out a furious roar and stomped down on Yao Jun, gravity around him increasing so much that Yao Jun could feel his bones creaking. Yao Jun didn't try to block the attack, keeping this domain up took so much energy that he couldn't afford to waste any on blocking, he simply became one with the darkness and vanished from sight once more. Xiao Yan's expression distorted fiercely after losing two of his strongest Demonic beasts, his eyes scouring the darkness for any sign of Yao Jun.

"Illusions huh? And you're pretty adept with them too, did you absorb that Nine-Tailed Fox living in the frozen wasteland? I heard that Lusoho Li killed her mate and absorbed his essence, greatly strengthening her body and soul, how do you feel about that?"

Xiao Yan had been able to see through Yao Jun's previous attack, but not fast enough to prevent it. The first attack against Taric was an illusion, as was the attack against Heliod, both had been ploys to make sure that Xiao Yan didn't see through his actual attack.

There was no response from the darkness, but Xiao Yan was able to feel the heat increase drastically, some sweat starting to appear on his forehead. He moved his gaze between Georgios and Heliod, all three of them nodding their heads in understanding. They locked onto the darkness in front of them, all three of them unleashing their strongest attacks and aiming for the same spot, aiming to break open a hole in the domain and escape.

Light, metal, as well as a spear of some brown energy that Yao Jun had never felt before, likely a result of Xiao Yan fusing several of his laws together, flew forward and coiled around each other, turning into a devastating attack. But just as the attack was about to explode, the darkness around Georgios rippled and he vanished, appearing in front of the attack.

It was too hard for Yao Jun to use his law of space to teleport the attack, but teleporting a single Demonic beast which was slightly weakened after unleashing its strongest attack was a different thing entirely. He didn't risk teleporting Xiao Yan or Heliod, one had a fragment of a Supreme Law and the other was a Divine beast, there was too great a chance of failure.

All three of them looked on in horror, but it was too late to react. The attack struck Georgios in the side and exploded, his entire body torn apart alongside the darkness around him, the chunks of his body swallowed by the waves of the attack and disintegrating. Georgios died in the process, but Xiao Yan and Heliod succeeded in tearing apart the domain, the blue sky and bright sun immediately greeting them.

But they didn't get the chance to enjoy the nice weather, Yao Jun appearing directly beside Xiao Yan. Yao Jun's face was pale, some blood leaking out from his seven orifices. He had not only sustained the domain but also unleashed several strong attacks, his energy rapidly vanishing. He was also connected to the domain, so he received a backlash and suffered some of the waves of the final attack when it shattered, he was nearing his breaching point. As such, he would have to give up on taking down all of his Demonic beasts before killing Xiao Yan, he had to end it in a single attack.

Yao Jun's sword pierced toward Xiao Yan, all his energy gathering within it as he unleashed the prototype of the single-target attack he had been working on coming up with. A light flashed beneath Xiao Yan's feet as he tried to pull back at the speed of light, but just as he moved, space all around him pressed down on him and prevented him from dodging far enough.

All of Yao Jun's laws gathered at the tip of his sword, forming a tiny black spot that slowly started to suck in the surrounding energy, even draining a bit of Xiao Yan's and Heliod's energy to fuel itself. Xiao Yan raised his shortswords and crossed them in front of the attack, doing his best to block it.

But in his wounded state, and having lost a large number of his Demonic beasts, the amount of energy he could draw out was not enough. Yao Jun's sword pierced through his shortswords and stabbed into his chest, the black spot at the tip of his chest pulsating once before collapsing in on itself.

As the black spot collapsed, it acted as a spatial rift and greedily sucked in everything around it. Xiao Yan's flesh, his organs, his bones, his Qi, the surrounding Qi, space, even the laws themselves were sucked into the black spot, a void appearing in the middle of Xiao Yan's chest.

This attack was based on the spatial rift Yao Jun had seen behind the white-haired youth that appeared when he had met Chang Yun, that perfect void that seemed to swallow up and reject all creation. Yao Jun did not hope to be able to recreate such a void, it was definitely impossible for the current him. But if he could just emulate a sliver of it, that would be enough for him. And by using a spatial rift and his law of disintegration as a base, he had been able to create a weak replica of that void.

Yao Jun didn't have a habit of naming his attacks, his black lotus and his domain had both been named by his Demonic beasts, one was titled Glory of the Demon God and the other was titled Demon God's Abyss. But this one attack, for just this one attack, he had chosen to make an exception, mostly out of gratitude towards Chang Yun and the white-haired youth for squashing his confidence before it became arrogance, as well as giving him the base for his single-target attack. And just like that, Void was born.

Xiao Yan looked with blank eyes at the blade which had stabbed into his chest and created an apple-sized void in his chest. His head turned slightly and looked at Heliod as if he wanted to say something, but the words never managed to leave his lips. His legs gave out underneath him and he collapsed to the ground, all light vanishing from his eyes. As Xiao Yan fell, Heliod's eyes grew dim and he fell to the ground next to Xiao Yan. As Demonic beasts absorbed by Xiao Yan's Supreme Law fragment, unless he released them, their lives were forever tied to him. His success became their success, and his death became their death.

Yao Jun kneeled down on the ground after Xiao Yan collapsed, vomiting up large amounts of blood as his face grew even paler. He only had the barest prototype of Void available, he hadn't even gotten to work on it for half a year yet, he had far too little control over it. When it started to greedily swallow up everything around it, it also drew in his own energy, which had already been completely drained just to launch the attack. So, with no energy to drain from him, it decided to swallow the closest replacement it could find, his own life force.

But even so, Yao Jun's lips slowly curled into a bloody smile, his gaze landing on Xiao Yan's chest. His secret had been spilled, he had been forced to use basically every attack he had available, even ending up in a pretty bad shape in the process. But even so, he had succeeded. Xiao Yan was dead, his Supreme Law fragment, as well as the tower, were now Yao Jun's.

Yao Jun stood up, his legs trembling as he stepped closer to Xiao Yan. He released the energy of his God Gate, Xiao Yan's chest trembling fiercely as a result. Xiao Yan's chest burst open, a palm-sized black wall flying out and hovering directly in front of Yao Jun, crying out for his God Gate, which in turn cried out for the wall. They wished to reunite, to become whole again. Yao Jun stretched out his arm, his fingers coming into contact with the wall and sending a jolt throughout his entire body, darkness overtaking his entire vision.
