Chapter 218: Finally home.

Chapter 218: Finally home.

After he was thrown into the spatial tunnel, Yao Jun found himself completely unable to control his own body. The energy that Tang Guanyu had used to throw him into the spatial tunnel was still surrounding him, constantly increasing his speed as it sent him through the spatial tunnel.

Yao Jun decided that since he couldn't control his own body right now, he might as well start focusing on healing the wound in his palm, gathering his Qi within his palm. The wound started to slowly close itself, the strange energy that slowed his normal healing speed getting pushed out of his body.

Thanks to Tang Guanyu's energy constantly increasing the speed at which he moved, the end of the spatial tunnel was swiftly getting closer and closer. Before long, Yao Jun left the spatial tunnel and arrived in the atmosphere of his home planet. But even then, Tang Guanyu's energy continued to increase the speed at which his body moved, causing him to rapidly approach the surface.

Yao Jun fell like a speeding meteor, crashing into the surface of the planet with a thunderous explosion, kicking up a thick cloud of dust as his body created a crater. Tang Guanyu sent him here as a reward, not to kill him, so right before he touched the ground, the strange energy that had increased his speed had turned into a defensive shield that prevented him from getting hurt when he landed.

Yao Jun was lying on his back in the crater, looking at the distant sky through the cloud of dust. No matter how similar it looked to the skies of other planets, there was no way he would ever mistake this sky for any other, this was the sky of his home. Even the air here tasted different, nostalgic and comfortable. It felt so comfortable to be home again that the sharp edge he had accrued over these past years was starting to slowly dull, like a blade rusting away within its scabbard.

After taking a few seconds to greedily breathe in the air of his own planet, Yao Jun stood up and brushed off the dirt that had gotten on his robe. He waved his hand and caused the surrounding cloud of dust to blow away, giving his surroundings a quick sweeping glance.

He was somewhat surprised to see that he was actually in the middle of what seemed to be a rather small town, wooden buildings lined up in neat formations all around him. Because of the commotion he had caused when he landed, a crowd had already started to gather around him, with more and more people coming.

The people he saw were all clad in normal brown clothing that was made from some rough fabric, typical clothing for villagers from small towns. Looking at them, Yao Jun guessed that this city was about as large as the Flying Fish town where his parents had moved after it was revealed that his inborn spell didn't seem to work.

The people looking at Yao Jun were all shivering, their faces pale from fear and wet with sweat. They seemed like they were too scared to even run, their legs trembling fiercely. At first, Yao Jun wasn't quite certain why they seemed so scared when they looked at him, but then it struck him.

"Right, it's been a while since I've been around people like them."

Yao Jun had gotten used to only being around his own Demonic beasts or other people who were around his cultivation level, it had been quite a bit since he had been around people like this, people who either had low cultivation or no cultivation at all. To these people, the energy that Yao Jun unconsciously released thanks to his cultivation and strength was so overpowering that he must look like a truly apocalyptic monster.

Yao Jun didn't see a reason to needlessly scare these people, so he pulled back all the energy that he would normally release unconsciously, gathering all of it inside his body. Like this, he would seem like a normal person to most people, but other strong cultivators would still be able to feel the energy he contained within his body, knowing that he was not someone to be messed with.

The expressions of the surrounding townspeople got better after Yao Jun retracted his energy, but that didn't mean that they had forgotten what they had just seen, forgotten the fear they had felt when they first saw Yao Jun. Yao Jun saw some people that looked like guards, clad in brown leather armor, push their way through the crowd. But none of these guards had even reached the 3rd Mortal Earth, further affirming Yao Jun's guess that this was a very small town.

Seven guards slowly walked closer to Yao Jun, pointing their spears at him as they formed a defensive wall in front of the townspeople behind them. They tried to put on a brave front, but Yao Jun could see that their spears were trembling slightly, the guards unable to fully contain their fear. One of the guards, a slightly older man with graying brown hair and a muscular physique shouted out, doing his best to make his voice as hard as possible.

"Identify yourself! Who are you and why have you come here? Are you a general from the Demon race who has come to take over this town? If that is so, don't think we'll let you do as you please!"

These guards had no way of measuring Yao Jun's actual strength, they only felt that he was unfathomable. He looked so young, but he had such a horrifying power, leading them to believe that he was a general from the Demon Race army using his great power to keep himself looking young.

Yao Jun only now remembered that the weaker people on this planet believed that the Demon Race and their Human Race were embroiled in a war. The truth was of course that there was no such war, the two races were even on somewhat good terms, making trade deals and exchanging resources. They only kept the lie about a war going on so that the younger generation and the weaker citizens would put all their focus into training. To further sell this lie, they even had the two races fight each other from time to time, acting as a tempering trial for their people.

Yao Jun swept these guards with a quick glance, causing all of them to freeze up in horror. But even when they froze up in horror, they continued to point their spears at him, doing their best to repress their trembling limbs so that the townspeople wouldn't see their fear. Even Yao Jun had to admit that the courage and determination they showed was quite commendable, giving a light wave of his hand.

"You don't have a need to worry, I'm not here to do anything to you or your town, I just ended up here by accident. I won't stay here, so don't worry about me."

Yao Jun's plan right now was to find a somewhat deserted spot so that he could scan the planet for Guo Luo's location without any interruptions, he had no intention of staying in this town. The guards didn't ease up after hearing Yao Jun's words, suspecting them of being lies. Yao Jun couldn't be bothered with what they believed, turning around to leave the town. But just as he was about to step through space, a young voice called out to him and caused him to stop for a short second.

"Mister, are you a strong Mage!? Can you please help us?! I am willing to do anything you want if you are willing to help us!"

Yao Jun turned his head, his eyes landing on a young brown-haired girl who looked to be about 12 years old, her face was a bit pale and her hands were rough, her entire body looking like it hadn't been washed for a while. She had pushed her way through the crowd and dropped to her knees, two people who seemed to be her parents rushing after her to pull her back. Yao Jun was in an excellent mood after having just returned to his own home planet, and hearing such a nostalgic term, he decided to at least hear what this girl had to say.

"Mage, huh? It's been a while since I last heard that term. And I can't say that I've ever been called Mister before. I'll hear you out."

Mage was the term used to describe Qi cultivators by the weaker people on this planet, it had been several years since Yao Jun last heard it. As for the Mister title, Yao Jun wasn't even in his mid-twenties yet, he was far from a Mister. Part of the reason Yao Jun decided to at least hear what the girl had to say was his good mood, but another part of the reason was that she reminded him of how Guo Luo had been when the two had first met. The little girl knocked her forehead into the ground, loudly thanking Yao Jun.

"Thank you! A monster born from an insect has taken control over the central road that leads away from this town, terrorizing and killing anyone who has tried to take that road. As long as it controls that road, we can't ship out our wares and as such are not able to make money. As long as you are able to chase away that monster, I am willing to do anything for you!"

The girl raised her head, looking at Yao Jun with eyes that were brimming with tears but still contained a strong determination. Yao Jun looked at the girl for a short second before casting his gaze into the distance, merging his mind with the surrounding space so that he could observe it all at once.

He quickly found the only road that led away from this city, and there was indeed a Demonic beast that had built a nest close to the road. The Demonic beast looked like a two-meter-long mosquito and it had reached the 5th Houtian Sky, far stronger than anyone in this town.

A ripple ran through the surrounding space as Yao Jun stretched out his arm, his hand vanishing into the ripple. When he pulled back his hand again, he was carrying the large mosquito by the neck, holding it up in front of the girl.

"Is it this one?"

Yao Jun's cultivation was only at the middle stage of the Immortal Rebirth realm, but what he used right now was the law of space, one of the strongest laws in existence. Any cultivator who could control a law as powerful as the law of space could not be measured using normal means and standards.

With the law of space at his command, Yao Jun could control the space within 40 000 kilometers as he wished, even drawing others through space like this was possible. The further from his position the space he wished to control was, the more Qi it would cost. There was also the fact that people could resist being drawn through space, drastically increasing the amount of Qi it would cost. But this mosquito was far too weak, there was no way it would be able to resist Yao Jun.

Seeing Yao Jun pull the dreaded monster out of empty air, even the previously steadfast guards couldn't help but take a step back. Was something like this still in the realms of living beings? Just what sort of monster was currently standing in front of them? The girl quickly nodded her head, hitting the ground with her forehead again.

"It is! It is! Please deal with, I'll do whatever you want."

The girl truly meant that she would do anything. Her mother had warned her that she must never give herself up to someone she didn't truly love, but if it meant saving the commerce of this town, she would be willing to even become a slave to the man in front of her. Luckily, the one she had offered herself to was Yao Jun, a fully single-minded man. He simply shook his head, not interested in the girl in the slightest.

"I don't need anything from you, you just remind me of someone very dear to me. But you should be careful in the future, this is a cruel world, you shouldn't offer yourself up to anyone, rely on yourself."

Yao Jun clenched his hand and flooded the mosquito's body with searing flames, its entire body turning to ash in his grasp. After burning the mosquito, Yao Jun turned around and left, stepping through space and vanishing. When he searched for the Demonic beast, he had found a secluded spot where no one would interrupt him while he scoured this planet for Guo Luo and the others.

The place Yao Jun arrived was a the peak of a small mountain shaped like a hook. The mountain was surrounded by a dense forest filled with twisted trees with leaves so dark they were nearly black. The town he had just left was the closest human settlement, about 200 kilometers away.

Yao Jun waved his hand, his God Gate appearing in the air next to him. The God Gate had now grown to be two meters tall, far larger than it had been when he left this planet. The gate opened, all eight of his Demonic beasts appearing on the peak of the mountain, curiously looking at the surroundings.

"This is my home planet, it's also the home planet of Little Thunder, Little Gray, Sirius, and Ba-Shei. As you already know, I'll be spending the next seven days on this planet. You are free to roam around as you please during these seven days, and if you wish to stay here after those seven days, that's fine by me."

Yao Jun didn't actually have to keep his Demonic beasts inside his God Gate to use their powers. Even if he left all of them on this planet when he left, as long as they were still alive and he didn't release them, he could use their powers as he pleased. None of the eight Demonic beasts rejected a chance to explore a new place, so they quickly took on their human forms and scattered to the winds, heading in different directions to explore as much as they could in these seven days.

When they left, Yao Jun sat down on the ground and closed his eyes, letting out a deep breath. He merged his mind into the surrounding space, slowly increasing the range as he started to scour the entire planet. This planet was rather small, so his range was large enough to cover the entire planet, seeing everything that happened on it.

The first thing he noticed was that there were actually five things that he was unable to see clearly on this planet, just seeing their outline. He recognized one of these places, it was the tower where he had acquired his Crumbling The Nine Heavens technique. The four others were a castle located at the bottom of the ocean, something shaped like a massive six-legged turtle that he guessed was the massive Demonic beast he had once met, a massive Kraken-like shape moving through the oceans, and finally a bird-like shape located in the massive Cloud Wilderness that housed the headquarters of the Demon Race.

The three animal-shaped outlines seemed to notice Yao Jun's spying, the turtle-shaped one doing something to fully block Yao Jun's sight of him, removing even his shape from Yao Jun's vision. The two others didn't seem to care about him, the Kraken-shaped one even seemed to make a movement that resembled a nod of its head.

Yao Jun temporarily put these things out of his mind, he could investigate them some other time, what he was most interested in was Guo Luo and his parents. He continued to scour the entire planet, searching every nook and cranny.

But slowly, his expression started to sink, the air around him getting colder. The sharp edge of his that had started to slowly dull after he arrived on this planet once again showed itself, turning sharper than ever before as he opened his eyes.

"Why are THEY here? And where are Guo Luo and the others?"

There were several things wrong that he had just discovered as he scoured the entire planet, things that filled his heart with nothing but unease and hints of rage. The seal that had covered this entire planet, the one that prevented the inhabitants of this planet from leaving, was gone, vanished without a trace.

He also couldn't find Guo Luo, his parents, or Yun Yantian. He could find the other people he knew on this planet, people like Wan Yi, Lin Ren, and the Yang siblings, but he couldn't find any traces of those he cared about the most. Could their disappearance have something to do with the other people he had discovered just now?

The other people he had discovered just now were people who should not be on this planet, people who had no reason to be here. He found people from the Final Fire clan, from the World Tree clan, from the Primordial Sea clan, from the Merged Heaven clan, even people from other clans and alliances that had a large influence in the vast universe.

And it wasn't just one or two people, there were quite a few of them, at least several hundred, all of them between the middle and the late stage of the Immortal Rebirth realm. Most of these people, as well as the leaders of the various clans that ruled this planet, were currently gathered in the headquarters of the Yao clan, seemingly engaging in a lengthy meeting hosted by the people who had come from outside this planet. Yao Jun didn't know why, but even Wan Yi and the others were there, participating in the meeting.

Yao Jun stood up from his seated position, his expression calm to the point of being icy cold. He couldn't find Guo Luo and the others, so he had to ask Wan Yi and the others what had happened. And if their disappearance had something to do with the people who had arrived from outside this planet, or with the Yao clan and the other clans, then Yao Jun would not mind bathing this planet in their blood to find answers. Yao Jun took a step forward, space around him rippling as he vanished.
