So… a quick status update.

I’m not dead, and neither is this story.

There is, unfortunately, no catastrophic reason that has prevented me from posting any new chapters recently. For the sake of excuses I wish there was, but there isn’t.

Simply put, I’m unreliable when it comes to long term projects. It’s not something I’m proud to admit, but I’d rather call shame upon myself that let you guys sit around and (hopefully) wonder about the fate of this fiction.

I’m lazy. I procrastinate. I suck at anything that requires consistent effort on my part.

But the story isn’t over, and I’m not calling this quits.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

I wish I could give a definitive date for the next chapter, but I can’t. I’ve been meaning to write this update for an entire week now, and I haven’t been able to even do that.

There will be more chapters, I just don’t know when.

I’ve had a couple people ask me if I was ever going to open a Patreon. I think this current absence of updates makes a clear case as to why I have not. I frequently tell them that I want to refill my draft log first, something I’ve been trying and failing to do since the end of last year.

I’m currently taking this time to work on that project. I want to get far enough ahead thatI don’t immediately fall behind if I have another month of lethargy.

This fiction is first and foremost a passion project. I can’t just let it die off.

There will be more chapters coming, just… not soon. I’m hoping that I’ll have more for you by the end of the month, but I can offer no guaranties right now.
