Xavier: I will father and don’t worry about me, I’m okay.

The meeting was called in the basement. All the guards and trainees were lined up and were waiting for their alpha to come. Soon Xavier entered the hall making everyone silent.

Xavier walked down the long aisle in his wolf form. Once Xavi went to his throne which was placed in the middle of the hall and all the people were standing on the right and left side of the throne in long lines.

Since Xavi is in his wolf form all of them are watching him confused, because this is the first time when he attended the meeting in his wolf form.

Xavier stood on the stage facing everyone.

They all bowed in front of Xavier together showing him respect.

Cherry 1 & 2 are also with him but are invisible to others except Arlan.

Arlan is standing on the right side of Xavier and his left is his Omega, Austin.

Arlan: (In his loud and authoritative voice) To Everyone present here, The Alpha will be giving you all some information and instructions. You all have to make sure it does not get out of this room or the person responsible for leaking the information will have to face the consequences.

Xavier started talking through mind link, his voice was cold and ruthless. Everyone in the room can feel the depth of coldness around them. All of them hold their breath ready to hear what their alpha has to say.

“This is an important announcement for all of you. We found some trace of witchcraft on our land. We don’t have much information related to them yet, but we need to protect our people from whoever this is and I need your help. We can’t tell this to the whole pack because this can cause chaos among the people. We have to keep it a secret and at the same time keep our guards up all the time to protect our people. I and Arlan will not be here for the time to begin. In my absence, you have to work more responsibly. Be your alpha and protect our Pack. Until we are back Austin will be in charge. If anyone finds anything suspicious, report it to Austin immediately. We have to protect our people without them knowing.

“Am I Clear?” (Xavi growled loudly)

“YES,” everyone said in a loud voice, growling together.

All this while everyone was listening to him with full attention.

Xavier left the room with Arlan after giving Austin the responsibilities.

Austin is the Omega of Xavier. Xavier trusts him the most after the Elders and Arlan, Austin is the one he can trust with his work. He is also his childhood friend other than Arlan.

Arlan was busy the whole day attending the meeting on behalf of Xavier.

At night, when the town was quiet, growls of wolves could be heard from a distance, both Xavier and Arlan were standing on the balcony of his room. Arlan was holding a cloth in his hand, which had some blood stains on it. It looked like, it was stuck somewhere and torn away from someone’s dress.

Arlan: So, what do you think about this? It’s the only thing our people got from that area.

Xavier: Maybe it belongs to the same person we were searching for, this morning?

Arlan: You are right, that smell in the forest. It appears like there was someone else present in the woods beside us at that time.

Xavier: Maybe the witch was chasing him and we came in between.

Xavier: Whatever it is now, they will face the consequences for harming me.

Xavier stared at the piece of cloth, and an indescribable emotion occurred in his heart. Ever since Arlan brought this piece of fabric, Xavi can feel a strong yet beautiful smell mixed with that of blood, spread in his room. He couldn’t ignore the effect of this smell on his body.

But the smell was not there in the forest earlier? It was just blood and he and Arlan both could smell it. So why is it this way now? Why Arlan can’t smell it, the way I can?

The smell was making his wolf form restless. But Xavi chose to keep this up to himself until he found this person.

They carry the piece to the elders to discuss what to do next.

In the study room of Elder Donovan, Xavier’s father, Elder Xanthos, was also there.

“Grandpa, our men only find this cloth in that area. Looks like this person was there apart from us,” Arlan came forward and placed the cloth on the table.

“How are you so sure this cloth belongs to the same person you were looking for?” asked Xavier’s father.

“It has blood on it and smells the same as we smelled in the forest,” Xavier replied through the mind link.

“Hmmm,” Grandpa nodded in agreement.

“Father, Grandpa, please find any solution to this. I’m not used to roaming around the house in my wolf form. I feel awkward.” Xavi said in an irritated tone

“I think you should look for this person, maybe he has a clue about who is behind all of this, and we can capture that supernatural being faster” Grandpa suggested

“I’ll go myself to find this person, with all of this supernatural thing going on, I think our people need more security here than hunting an unknown person. Besides, If I go, I can get a solution to this earlier, than to send men and bring the person here.” Explained Xavi

“I’m coming with you, there is no way I’ll let you go alone,” said Arlan

“I think you should be back, there’s a lot of work to look after in my absence,” Xavi said

Elder Xanthos: I think you should take Arlan with you, We will take care of work here, You don’t have to worry.”

Under everyone’s gaze, Xavi accepted Arlan’s offer.

Arlan: So, where should we start from?

Xavi: From where it all started.

Xavi looked in the eyes of Arlan, they both knew what they had to do.
