Yonne - A day after her escape

She had been caught- it happened right as the sun was rising, she accidentally walked into one of their flashlight rays, but she was able to fake innocence and blame it all on Lower-M, who was often caught impersonating others. Her exact words were, “ Help! Lower-M captured me! He put me out there in the forest, and I had no clue what to do!” The guards, somehow believing her story, capture Lower-M instead and that was the last anyone ever saw of him. Right now, she was sitting in her room, waiting for feeding time like everyone else did. She thought about Lower-B, and how she didn’t know their real name, as the caretakers said “Your name is your weapon- don’t let anyone know what it is until we say you can.” Of course, stupid Lower-A immediately tried telling everyone their name- Annabel. And that was the last anyone heard of them. Their story, however, inspired everyone else to never, ever tell anyone each other’s name. Lower-D was the one who got the most scared of Lower-A’s story, prompting them to tell everyone to call them Lower, without the D. Which was quite helpful, as Lower-Da got to change their name to Lower-D.

H

Spoiled, acts rich but not bratty. Can make the caretakers give him whatever he wants. “Spoiled Little H” is what they call him behind his back - “His Majesty H” to his face.

Yonne (Lower-Y)

The ‘Trouble Kid’, supposedly ‘fixed’ after brainwashing day. Almost always ignored, except for when she snuck out before + when she snuck out and blamed it on Lower-M.

Lower-B

Started to act like a bear and stopped talking after brainwashing day. Rumors started spreading that they really turned into a bear, but Yonne doesn’t believe it. Used-to-be Yonne’s best friend.

Annabel (Lower-A)

Told everybody their name and disappeared, were dragged away by caretakers. Before, was known as the ‘Popular Kid’. The person Yonne always looked up to when she was (even) younger.

Lower-M

The “Thousand Faces Kid”, was said to be a different person every day- which makes sense, considering that there are often two of one person, each trying to claim to be the original, to get the reward the original got. Yonne claims to be him a lot.

Lower (Formerly Lower-D)

Changed their name to Lower, because they were so scared of Lower-A’s story. Yonne thinks that they are a scardey cat, but that comes in handy when trying to get something out of him.

Lower-D ( Formerly Lower-Da)

Changed their name to Lower-D, because no one was using that name when Lower changed their name. Yonne has never met them, but they study a lot in the library.

Lower-C

Class clown. Got dragged off like Lower-A when they broke a barrel of something for a prank. Yonne thinks they are insane for doing so.

Lower-T

Usually leads group projects, the only two who don’t listen are H and Lower-G. Yonne wishes she could be as brave as them.

Lower-G

The one who’s always alone in the corner, and never listens to Lower-T. Yonne thinks that they are smart, but should hide it like her.

Lower-F

She only found out Lower-F existed because she looked at the files in the office. Apparently, he went outside for a full week, and when he was found he was dragged off. Yonne wants to learn from him.
