Chapter 1

??? - at ???

A deep, black abyss, devoid of life. The void. That was what had surrounded a deep black entity for decades. But… on the 14th decade of human life, it awakened from its eternal slumber, to be reborn again. Humanity had forgotten its existence, buried deeply in the core of all fairy tales. Reaching out with its tentacles, it created a void-blessed human body, to evolve into his avatar when it was of age.

He created sentience for it, and gave it a small portion of him, to emerge itself over time. This young human was three to four when the creature made it. Casting the human onto the porch in the small, undeveloped, but still cultivating town of Southernwood. Almost right before leaving, he had the afterthought to name the child. After pondering it, he decided on Huden. Creating a small scroll, he wrote ‘Huden’ in a fancy calligraphy font. Finally done, he returned to the void, committing the next few decades to gather power.

Huden - Age 7 - at the Larson Manor

“Young Lord Huden, may you show us your stats so that we can designate your proper training program?” Asked one of the many servants in the Larson Manor. Pulling up his stat screen for the servant to read, it said

Huden Larson , 7

12 Strength

14 Agility

16 Intelligence

The servants looked at the screen, very impressed. These were the average stats of a 13-year old, not a 7-year old like him. “Your stats are very good, so you should work on your studies,” they suggested after a moment of thinking. Huden sighed melodramatically as this was what the servants told him every time. Planning to fake an illness to skip studying, he began thinking of ways to do so as he walked away. Coming to the door to his room, he opened it and sat down at his desk, taking out his notebook that held the runes, also putting on earplugs. Sliding a novel into the book and turning around, to anyone else he would seem diligently studying. Including the servants that were assigned to checking up on him every now and then to make sure he was studying, and also to bring him refreshments.

Halfway through his novel aka ‘notebook’, a servant rushed in yelling, “Young master, young master! A demonic beast has invaded! We must evacuate immediately.” Huden, frozen in shock, let the novel slip out of his notebook, but thankfully the servant did not notice. Taking out his earplugs, he could now hear the screaming and yelling from the rest of the castle. Then he promptly fainted in shock.

Huden - A week later

Huden woke up very groggy. He could not see too clearly, as it was all fuzzy, but his vision started coming back. O did his unexplainable need for food. He was starving, but at the same time he had no idea how he got there. Then he remembered the events that had happened today, as well as the small moments where he woke up and passed out again, where he could see himself in a carriage riding along a road in a storm.

Gradually getting up, he looked around. To his left: a broken, crashed, ruined carriage that he had been riding in. To his right: An almost dead servant. Panic shot through his veins. Where were his parents? Were they okay? Was the servant his only protection? Desperately trying to wake up the servant for answers, he felt the servant's breaths stop, as well as his now-not-beating heart. Despair was all he felt for a few seconds, before he snapped out of it reminding himself ‘it’s just a random, unknown servant who happened to escape with me.'
