I was looking at my test score, the score was 0/100. I was silent and looked at this grade strangely. In every test if a person is caught cheating they get 0 points out of 100.
I get up from the bench and ask the teacher what this score is.
" What do you mean Ishikawa? It's your score because you cheated on the test " she says looking at me with a disappointed face.
" What do you mean? I didn't cheat at all on the test " I say in a calm but elevated tone.
" Ishikawa don't you raise your tone at me and besides, the surveillance cameras say something else entirely, they clearly show that you cheated " she tells me and turns to face the blackboard and notes the lesson.
I looked at her nervously, I could feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins but I calmed down and made a neutral face and looked at the teacher.
"Can I see the videos if you keep saying I cheated? " I ask in a calm tone and walk completely out of the desk, sitting next to it.
The teacher doesn't even bother to look at me and continues to write and says "No, you can't see the school videos, no student is allowed to do that" and after that she simply ignores me.
I tried to speak and he kept whispering me to shut up. I sat back down in my desk and looked at the door, my facial expression being a neutral one without a single feature that I cared about the score.
The others looked at me with a smirk in the corners of their mouths. I ignore them and sit in my own thoughts to understand why I got a score of 0/100 if I didn't even copy.
- Does that email I received have anything to do with it? The one that if I keep ignoring that person I won't be safe?
I look towards the door and the door opens and in walks none other than the girl who tried to talk to me on Friday at school.
She looks me in the eye with a subtle but visible smirk and approaches the teacher and pulls her by the sleeve. They are talking in my ear so I don't hear anything but I see the teacher smile and turn to face the class.
Stolen story; please report.
That girl starts talking.
"Hello class students, I am Yamada Hana and I am the vice president of the student council of this school, on this day I would like to inform you that all the images on the surveillance cameras have been deleted due to a technical malfunction and in case you want to prove something, it is absolutely impossible" she says with a smile on her lips, a smile that seems to pull the soul out of you.
- She is the teacher's daughter so she is also the vice-president of the school's student council, so something is rotten in the middle.
I lifted my head from my desk and looked out the window, watching the leaves of the pink trees that seemed to reassure me.
- It definitely has something to do with my situation, the footage from the security cameras never gets deleted, it's either a lie or they deleted them so there wouldn't be a shred of evidence to fix my problem.
I turned my head towards the front of the class and Hana was looking me in the eye with a subtle, visible smirk that cut to my bones.
- The message, the threat, the surveillance cameras in my house, the fact that I scored 0 and the fact that the footage had been deleted. Hm, she's the culprit for my case.
"In other words, thank you for your attention and now I will leave" she says and leaves the classroom closing the door behind her.
The teacher resumed writing on the blackboard and I could see the frustration of the others on having to write again. I started writing too eventually while still thinking about this that Hana might even be to blame for what is happening to me now.
- I need to gather hard evidence based on stuff other than surveillance cameras.
Student Council.
" Haruto, did you finish signing those documents? " asks Hana sitting down on a chair next to Haruto.
" No, I still have 2 documents to sign but where have you been? " asks Haruto putting the pen down and looking at Hana.
Hana plays some chess by herself and looks back at Haruto.
" I had some work to do, but don't worry! If you want I can take care of these documents while you take a break " says Hana moving a pawn on the board.
Haruto gets up from his chair and looks at the clock, the time was 10:04 am. He walks towards the door of the room.
" Does this mean you'll let me sign the rest of the documents? " Hana asks moving another pawn on the board.
Haruto looks back out of the corner of his eye and adjusts his glasses. " No, that means I'm just going to the bathroom" he says and leaves the room.
Hana sighs and continues to play chess in the silence of the room. And she wins the chess game by taking the queen out of the game.
I sit and stare out the window as the teacher walks out of the classroom and leaves us alone, the sound of the noise made by classmates making me put my hand to my ears and focus on the leaves of the trees.
- I wonder how many A's up Hana's sleeve.
I keep looking out the window and from the bustle of the classroom I feel my phone buzzing in my pocket. When I take it out of my pocket I look at it and there's a notification from Sakura. Opening the notification I see she's said hello and that's about it.
- Hm, whatever.
I answer it back and then close my phone and put it in my pocket when I feel the buzz from the phone again. Looking in my phone again I see another notification from Sakura.
Opening the message again I see she sent me a video. Clicking on the video is her playing some volleyball so I close the video.
- Shouldn't she be at school? Anyway, it's none of my business what she does.
I reply with " Cool " and put my phone in my desk and cover my ears again to block out the sound of my classmates.
The teacher enters the classroom so everyone settles down and she continues writing on the blackboard while I look out the window at the leaves on the trees.
