141. Just A Little Mayhem

In a dark, dingy room somewhere in Hypercity.

There lay a young man by the name of Sylvester Perry. He was on his bed, looking up, breathing heavily.

In the distance, a TV screen could be heard playing and audio, and visual.

On a closer look, it began to look more like a news station channel.

And then, the reporter's voice could be heard clearly.

Voice: Reporter Janice Carlson here, reporting live here at Hypercity Park.

Another voice suddenly sounded.

Dillan: Hey there, Janice. How's it going?

Janice: Not too well, Dillan.

Dillan: How so?

Janice: We're getting reports of a savage wild animal attack that happened here just one hour ago.

Dillan: Really now?

Janice: Yes. The victim was a 20 year old female college student. She is now receiving treatment in the hospital after receiving serious damage to her face.

Dillan: Oh dear. What kind of savage animal would do such a thing?

Janice: That's just it, Dillan. The creature responsible for this assault, according to all credible eye witnesses, including the very woman standing right next to her when it happened, was a squirrel.

Dillan: A squirrel?

The man on his bed suddenly smirked and even chuckled.

Janice: I know. It is completely unbelievable.

Dillan: Do we have any footage of this attack?

Janice: Unfortunately, no. However, experts are, at the moment, searching for the squirrel.

Dillan: What kind of squirrel was it?

Janice: According to the young lady who was next to our victim, the squirrel seemed to grow bigger.

Dillan: I see.

There was a pause after that.

Even this news man didn't know what to make of the predicament.

Dillan: Are there any clues of what may have caused this predicament?

Janice: Yes... well... according to our witness, there was a man that appeared to be feeding the squirrel before it attacked.

The man on the bed started laughing.

Dillan: Could you describe him for us?

Janice: According to the woman, he was very well dressed for his age. About 27 years old. Maybe 30. But dressed as a 40 - or 50 year old man and very good-looking.

Dillan: I see. Ladies and gentlemen, please do your due diligence in keeping a look out for any strange individuals that fit this description. While I am not law enforcement, I do not advise approaching any suspicious persons who fit this description.

The man on his bed suddenly broke into an outright horrid laughter.

That man.... Sylvester Perry.

He continued to cackle, even sitting up on his bed and continuing his laugh.

Janice: Agreed, Dillan.

Dillan: Stay safe out there, Janice.

Janice: You too, Dillan.

Dillan's voice went out.

Janice: This was reporter Janice Carlson, reporting. Out.

And then, the clip played once more, going back to Janice's first sentence.

As it would turn out, the clip was on repeat.

How often had it repeated?

Who knew?

But it simply amused the man laughing in his bed.

A laughter that he continued, until he finally calmed down and got to his feet and walked to another room.

In this room, several strange pieces of equipment could be found on the tables. Almost as though a lab of some kind.

On the walls of his room, several certificates lay, each louding out some kind of incredible intellectual achievement.

Most notable being one on his work with animal behaviour and another on his work wth DNA.

Sylvester: (like a presenter) Dr. Sylvester Perry. A genius. Unsurpassed by all. A genius. A visionary. A man who will change the world's understanding of DNA and revolutionise the world.

He started to laugh maniacally again as he cleared his table, pulling out a massive microscope, needle, and an odd blue coloured liquid.

And then, he spoke again, in a more sad morose, almost child like tone.

Sylvester: Sylvester Perry. The weirdest kid in school. He's a monster. A violent cruel creature. Don't look at him. He isn't like us... people.

He then started a somewhat crying laugh... before grabbing the liquid and a small pen from which a laser was fired, turning the liquid to a green colour.

Sylvester: Ah...... this is it. The next stage in DNA evolution.

He quickly added it to his syringe.

And then, he placed it into a vial before going to get some food to eat, and then, he left to go prepare some food.

His meal? An oddly healthy helping of salmon and salad.

What did he do while eating?

He continued to watch this video over and over again, bursting out laughing.

Why did he keep watching it?

He couldn't help it. It felt so good to laugh.

And then...

Sylvester: I know, it's so funny, right?

No sound was heard.

Sylvester: Ugh.. you needed to have been there.

Still, no sound was heard.

Sylvester: (sighs) Alright. Next time, I'll bring you along.

He slurped some juice in an oddly gentlemanly manner.

Sylvester: Hmmm? My plan?

He then smiled to himself.

Sylvester: Well..., if it felt this good to do this much, then....

He threw over a piece of salmon into the air.

Sylvester: ... a little more fun wouldn't hurt.

A moment right before the food could land on the ground, a gigantic and long tongue came out of nowhere and slurped up the piece of food, briefly revealing what looked to be a massive chameleon, but not exactly....

And after that, a loud hiss was heard. The kind of hiss one would expect from a snake.

Sylvester: Now now... don't get too excited. Hehe.... hehehehehe.... Heheehehehhehehehehehhehehehehheheheheheheheheheheh
