It was early morning. I was sleeping soundly since I just finished concocting the Strength Potion late night. The dream I had was… I didn’t dream anything at all, since I slept soundly. However, this peaceful sleep of mine was fated to be disturbed because of a loud voice of a certain Goddess that shouted right beside my ear.
“FEY! WAKE UP!”
If that Goddess who only knew how to be violent was only shouting beside my ear, it shouldn’t be much problems for me. However, she slapped my face repeatedly, forcing me to wake up and glared at her with dissatisfied expression.
“Stop glaring at me like that! Look outside of your window!” She forcefully pulled me up and again, forcefully turned my head to look out of the window. And I saw people, or should I call mobs? Anyway, there were a lot of people out there, as if they all wanted to burn our humble house… that was not even ours!
“What’s happening?” I asked and rubbed my eyes. I didn’t quite believe what I saw, but after rubbing my eyes three times and still seeing those mobs outside of our house, I believed that it was real.
“They are the Players that have gathered the ingredients you asked them yesterday!” She glared at me viciously. Mm, there were so many of them? How many of them were out there? A hundred?
“Don’t exaggerate, there were only fifty of them. Around ten parties or so.” The Goddess flicked my forehead and pulled me to the front door. I really didn’t have enough strength to deal with her ridiculous strength at all, so I was helplessly pulled to the front door. Fortunately, my sleeping-wear was presentable, so when the silly Goddess opened the door and pushed me out of the house before slammed the door, I wasn’t as embarrassed as I would be if I didn’t wear presentable sleeping-wear… alright, I was still wearing my usual clothes since I fell asleep right after concocting this batch of Strength Potion so I didn’t have time to change my clothes at all.
“The rumors are true! She is truly a Goddess!” I heard a Player saying things like that. Since I was still sleepy, I yawned and rubbed my eyes while looking at them with questioningly gaze.
“What do you guys want?” I asked with another yawn.
A muscular Player with bald head stepped forward with conviction in his eyes. It seemed he would represent the other Players as no one seemed to stop him from stepping forward.
“We gathered all the ingredients you need, from Pennicillium Mushrooms to Bezoar! W-would it be alright if we held a handshake event?” That bald and muscular man said with blushed face.
A handshake events? My sleepiness went away as I heard these words. I wanted to retort that I was no idol, yet when I opened my mouth, I couldn’t speak at all. I was overwhelmed by their fervent gazes to the point that I could only nodded because of it!
“Yes! Thank you very much! Also, I am your fans #1!” The bald man showed me his member card proudly. Wait, since when they planned it? Why didn’t I hear about it at all? More importantly… I remembered this muscular bald man just came to my place two days ago… and today, he created a fans club already? Moreover, he gathered approximately fifty people too? Wasn’t it too fast?
As he stretched out his hand, I automatically reached out and shook his hand casually. He became so excited. He turned around, looked at the others with proud expression and saying, “I will never wash my hand again in this life!”
“…no, please wash your hand or I will never touch your hand again.” I said before he left. I hoped he would wash his hand, at least before the next handshake event…
And so, I spent almost the entire morning just to shake the hands of fifty Players. I saw more people coming, approximately thirty people, but it didn’t seem like they wanted to shake my hand, so I ignored them. However, when a certain Goddess came out of the house, they became excited and asked her to do what I did.
“...” was it a competition between two idols?
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
While thinking like that, another group consisted of female Players showed up behind them. And they asked a certain God to shake their hands too.
“…yep, it is a competition between three idols, huh?” I muttered while looking at those Players in front of me helplessly. Anyway, I just finished shook the hand of the last person, when the two of them were surrounded by their fans.
I saw the violent Goddess almost beating the leader of her fans club, so, out of pity, I gave her fans a kindly reminder. “These two are my cousins. They have peculiar taste which is they only like handsome men with blond hair and blue eyes and beautiful women with blond hair and blue eyes, so if you are truly their fans, you should change your hair color and eyes color first.”
After telling me this, 90% of their fans were stunned and immediately logged out to change their avatars. As for the lucky 10% whose hair was blond and eyes were blue, Brian and Briana could only shake their hands helplessly.
Yep, watching others suffered a misfortune together with you was really good, huh? I would remember it and would ask them to suffer with me more. Right now, I had to disperse all of these fans before I could go back to my peaceful slumber.
“Alright, how about having this kind of events every month? On the first day of every month, we are going to have a handshake events, so it won’t disturb your levelling and your quests. For today, you should go back and levelling up as fast as you can.” I tried to disperse the crowds. Fortunately, my fans were reasonable as they were cheering on me. As for Brian’s and Briana’s fans… they were waiting for their idols to give their promises too!
I gave them a hint, now they only had to follow me. I kindly helped them, so I returned to my house and planned to sleep. As for how those two dealt with their fans, I couldn’t be bothered about it any longer.
In the end, after receiving a ton of ingredients from my fans, I put them in the corner of the room and when my head touched the pillow, I immediately fell asleep again.
…
Because I received a ton of ingredients, I made tons of potions without care and in a single night, I raised my level to level 10… was what I planned. However, reality was cruel… or rather, reality was logical. Even though logically speaking I should be able to increase my level by drinking EXP Potions, there was a limit on how much I could drink. It wasn’t because of there was a side effect but rather… well, wouldn’t you be bloated after drinking two or three liters of water in a short time? Yep, that was what I felt after drinking my fifth EXP Potion. Each bottle contained around 500 ml water, so after drinking the fifth, I… couldn’t drink anymore.
I only increased two levels since two days ago and my stats were as trash as it could be. I didn’t know why my stats were trash, but as far as I remembered, even when I was an Evil Goddess or a Demon Lord, I never fought directly so I didn’t know how strong I was. What if I was actually so weak even when I was an Evil Goddess or a Demon Lord? Wouldn’t I be killed instantly if that were the case?
Anyway, since there was a limit on how much I could drink EXP Potions every day, that meant I could sell more and more potions. No, how about I gave EXP Potions as rewards for the quests? Yep, I should really think what kind of quest I should give to the Players next.
What kind of potions I should make next? Speaking of potions, there were actually other Classes that could make potions. Witches just one of them. The common Class that was well-known for making potions was Alchemist. However, the potions an Alchemist could create and potions a Witch could create was mostly different, especially the higher tiered potions.
It was not because of trade secrets or something like that, but rather, because the essence of Mana from Witch and Alchemist was basically different. A Witch’s Mana tended to have Dark element or Negative energy within it. As for Alchemist, they tended to have more neutral element. This little different in Mana wouldn’t affect low-level potions too much, only the efficacy of the potions a little, however, for the more delicate high-level potions, it would affect the effect of the potions entirely. For example, the effect of the potion was supposed to clear the mind, however, because of the difference Mana within it, even with exactly same ingredients and methods of concoction, the effect would probably be raising libido… well, that was a bad example. Anyway, anything was possible.
As for EXP Potion, actually, Alchemist could make this type of potion too. However, they wouldn’t be able to make with the exact ingredients. Perhaps they needed some additional ingredients or perhaps the ingredients were totally different, I didn’t know as I never learned Alchemist’s recipes.
In this little Newbie Village, however, there were no Alchemists at all. As for the Players, they were all busy levelling up, how could they bother trying to make potions? Not to mention they didn’t have the Skills to make any potions as all of them were Novices. They would only learn how to make potions, the most basic of potion, which was Red Potion to heal fifty points of Health Point, after they change their Class into an Alchemist. As for a Witch?
A Witch was considered as a dark Class, so unless you went to a Witch, which hid themselves quite well, you wouldn’t be able to change your class into a Witch. Also, if people knew that you were a Witch, they could hunt you down and kill you without any repercussion. A Witch was another word for Demon, so it was totally legal to kill a Witch.
I wasn’t afraid of being hunted, as not only I wasn’t a Player, I had confidence in my acting ability. Except for the silly Goddess who could read my inner thought, nobody could know what my intention at all. So, no one would know that I was actually a Witch.
Alright, let’s go back to our main topic. What kind of potion I should make next? I made EXP Potion, which was a type of special potion, and Strength Potion, which was a buff potion, so next… I should make an attack type potion?
I knew several attack type potions, for example, Lava Potion that could create an area of fire for ten minutes in a certain radius… actually, I called it Molotov Bomb. Cough, naturally, it was different, but the effect was quite similar except it was several times stronger that it could melt stones easily.
I also had the recipe to make Frost Potion that could freeze anything it touched. Also, Gravity Potion that every drop of it was equal to several kilograms… to the point that only metallic container could contain this type of potion. Alright, I had a lot of recipes for attack potions, however, there was a simple main problem.
The main problem was… the ingredients. They were not rare, but the Players at this level wouldn’t be able to obtain them at all! Alright, let’s talk about Lava Potion that needed an ingredient from Lava Golem that only lived in Lava area… which was impossible for the Players at this level. So, it was impossible to get the ingredients now.
If there was an attack potion that I could get at this stage, “…I think I the best I can make is firecracker potion…”
