"T-that was 'en I wasn't s-stupid."
Matt stepped forward, "What do you mean, bud?" He asked.
"I was 'tupid when I pet 'accoon. Now, I am really, 't-stupid." Theo said before breaking down into more tears, clinging to his mother.
"Theo," his father began, "look at me." Theo looked at his father. Matt took both his son's hands and held them.
"You are not stupid, young man." He said firmly. "You didn't know that raccoon was sick. You are a brilliant boy. Do you understand?"
Theo sniffed harshly before nodding. Lisa kissed Theo's forehead before saying,

"Let's get you back in bed." She said before sitting him up while supporting his head since he could not hold it up on his own.
Theo reached out for his father who lifted him and placed him in bed. Matt put the neck pillow around Theo's neck and made him comfortable.
"I'm taking this bag home and wash the clothes," Lisa said.
Matt nodded. "Come too?" Theo asked weakly.
"No, baby," Lisa said as she rubbed Theo's cheek. Before she could leave Theo grabbed her arm,
"Come too!" He yelled. Theo tried to sit up but couldn't. Lisa took his hand off of her wrist, and as soon as he did, he screamed and broke down sobbing.
"Come too!" He sobbed. Lisa blinked back her tears as she walked out. Matt pulled his son into his arms and rocked him while rubbing soothing circles on his back.
"Shh, bud." Matt soothed.
"Mama!" Theo sobbed. "Come too!"
Matt tried to calm Theo down, but his meltdown only escalated.
