"It seems I have a visitor." A man sat cross legged in front of me. Cold, black water filled my vision as I stared into this man. He was completely black, besides for a white smile being dampened by the water. He had a fedora on, and held no facial features or clothes. His body fizzled, as if it was boiling.
"Who? Where?" I asked, still feeling disoriented.
"You're a Tempest, seeking power?" He asked.
"What?" I said.
"Your friend just died, your body is motionless. Your relic instinctively came to find me." He said. "I am the Ancient of the Abyss, and I'm here to make a contract with you."
"Jake." I hurriedly looked around, trying to see if I could heal him, but I couldn't move at all.
"Your friend died in vain, for nothing." The ancient spoke
"Shut up! He was everything to me!" I shouted.
"He sure was. Now, let's talk about revenge shall we?" The sound was muffled for a moment.
"Look out!" Zach's voice? I heard Zach's voice?
"Zach?" I said out loud.
"Nobody can hear you, not until we finish business." The ancient spoke again, gripping my attention back to him. "They're fighting Circe, and her minions. You can help them, even kill them. But we need to have this conversation first."
"Send me back!" I demanded.
"No. I don't want you dying on me."
"What do you want?!" I snapped, attempting to move again but failing.
"Something of yours. Perhaps your sight? Your hearing? Your voice?" He smiled. "In return, I could grant you power." I struggled to comprehend his deal. My sight was important, I could never give that up. I already barely have any of it.
"What kind of power?" I asked.
"The power to destroy your enemies, put fear into hundreds, and defeat everything and everyone." He spoke, and as he did I hurt. My pain swallowed me up like the ocean and sunk me down to the bottom where I felt nothing but rage. Anger. Wrath.
"Take whatever you want." I said quietly. "Just give me what I need to save them." I closed my eyes.
"Very well, let's say I'll ta-"
"I don't care..." I stammered. "Take it all if you have to... Just let me save him."
"Granted!" He exclaimed, rolling up the piece of paper he had been reading. "Pleasure doing business with you... Enjoy your new found strength. I call it Abyss Magic. It might hurt a lot when you use it at first, but don't worry you'll get used to it. Just be sure not to use all of the energy you obtain, or you'll lose your sanity." He smirked. "I deem you 'The Wraith.'" And with that statement the water drained from all around me, and I launched back up to where everyone was fighting.
It was like I was projecting my spirit somewhere far away. I arrived back in my own body. Jake's corpse in my arms. Everyone was fighting Circe and her army of spiders. Stephanie was next to me, holding a light barrier up around both of us. I moved, looking down at Jake, then up at Stephanie.
"Lady Anna!" She exclaimed. "Everyone! She's awake! Let's get out of here!" She shouted as Zach looked over only to be hit by one of Circe's human-like spiders. I froze, I heard the whispers of my relic screaming in my ears as the darkness swallowed me whole.

"Pray unto thee." I murmured. "I am the darkness deep beneath the waves, that light can no longer reach. I am the lifeless black chasm with no end in sight. I am the Abyss. I am the Wraith." I finished my spell, and black energy erupted around me. Pain, horrible unbearable pain shot up my spine. I shouted, screaming louder than the entire battle.
The energy that had been scaring me my entire time here. The waves of heat, the trembling power. It was mine. It was finally mine. Black energy erupted from my back as the pain grew deeper. My bones snapped and broke as I screamed out, flailing my arms around.
"Someone help her!" I heard someone shout, and Stephanie bent down to touch me. I stared at her, and I couldn't even recognize her. She flew backwards, expelled by my energy. I put my hands on my head, before summoning my broken dagger into my hand. I reformed it into a dark twisted dagger. The blade was curved and held together through magic energy. It was much larger, being as long as my forearm. My screams grew louder as the pain grew deeper until ... snap. All of the energy was absorbed into my body.
Everything stopped. I gripped my new dagger, it held the symbol of death on it. "Eclipse" was its name. I looked at the party, and they looked at me. Black energy poured out of me as I moved forwards towards Stephanie. I reached my hand to help her up. One of Circe's minions attacked me, and I held my left hand out as it was completely obliterated into shreds, shouting in pain as I tore apart it's body with pure magical energy. Stephanie had so much fear in her face as she looked at me.
"Go away!" She shouted, curling herself up into a ball. I was confused by this, but I was unable to change my expression. I tried speaking, I wanted to tell her it was okay. I couldn't speak. I could no longer communicate. That was my contract. It hit me.
"Anna!" Zach charged at me and I simply moved out of the way of his attack, "Give Anna back! Whatever you are..." I couldn't change my expression or communicate at all. Circe had grabbed Eric with her hand and was about to stab him. I looked at Zach, and shook my head no, as that was the best I could muster.
I was fast. I thought, immediately teleporting to Eric's location, leaving a dust of smoke. I sort of floated in the air a little before grabbing Eric by his chainmail, and teleporting back towards where Zach was. He still held his guard up, pointing his sword spear at me.
"You-" Zach began, confused.
"Are you on our side?" A limping Arin stood up and moved towards me, holding his left shoulder. "Are you going to fight with us?" I was confused by this, as I still felt like me. I shook my head yes. He understood.
"Are you still ..." Zach began, picking up on Arin's message. "Are you still Anna?" He asked. I shook my head yes to answer him. He was appalled by this.
"Something happened to her." Arin said, coughing and falling to one knee. I approached him, but was stopped by Zach and Eric both. I backed up a step. "She's definitely changed." Circe attacked us one again, but I held out my hand, immediately casting a frost shield to deflect her attack. The frost shield was black instead of a normal blue.
I turned my gaze to Circe, who recoiled out of fear. I snapped, pulling both Eclipse and Vortex into my hands and approaching the queen of spiders.
"What are you?!" She shouted. "You're a- a monster!" She began bombarding me with green spells, and sliced at me with her sword. I parried her, causing her to drop her weapon. I sliced off each of her legs quickly, causing her to bleed and she screamed out in agony. Her body fell down as she was unable to move. I stabbed at her abdomen, charging up my magical energy and expelling it into her. All of her blood expanded and then froze outside of her spider like body.
"She's torturing her." I heard Zach say.
"Stop this! I beg of you!" Circe screamed in pain as frozen chunks of blood expelled from her abdomen. I nodded, slicing off the human half of her body as the spider half fell dead, chunks of frozen blood expelling from the corpse. Circe was still alive however. I sheathed both my weapons at my waist and generated an extremely dense black icicle in my hand. I pinned Circe to the wall using six icicles. One through her stomach, one through each of her hands, and one through her neck. Blood poured out from the wounds.
"Anna!" Zach shouted. "That's enough! Just kill her!" I turned around at him, staring. He backed up out of fear. I smiled. I was able to move my lips from a resting position into a smile. Interesting.
"Please-" Circe begged. I stared at her, before pushing all of the dense icicles in further. She shouted in torment and agony as the life drained out of her. I tried to speak again, but no words came out. Blood poured from the spider queen's eyes and mouth. But I still wasn't ready to kill her. She begged me to kill her. I rolled my eyes, obliging. Little slits appears all over her body as large chunks of frozen bloody spikes thrusted out from her body. She screamed, but only for a moment before everything stopped.
