Johnathan had spent a long time being Rase's experiment, he was infused with different types of energies, some mana, some not. Rase had been teaching him how to control the energy infused inside him, he named one of the energies Qi and it enhanced John's physical attributes temporarily. John had only heard of this stuff in myths of ancient heroes, everyday while he suffered he thought of his revenge, his revenge against the thing that possessed his daughter.
"I think you are ready" said Rase one day while John was meditating, the entire time John had spent with him he had never taken off the hood.
"To leave?"
"No, you forget you are bound to me as master and slave, you can never truly leave me but I think you are ready to pursue your daughter"
"That thing was not my daughter, I will save my daughter from whatever is possessing her, and I have a feeling you know what it is" John opened his eyes to look at Rase who remained unmoved.
"I do, it's called insanity"
"Insanity? Is that some sort of demons name? Because I am certain my daughter isn't insane, she's turning 9 in less than a year!"
Rase said nothing else, John took that as confirmation as turned into a blur, he left the forest and appeared at the village, he appeared there expecting graves for his family and friends and instead found them in horrible positions, all with their mouths contorted into smiling postions. John almost threw up but steeled himself, this demon who called itself Insanity was powerful but John had gained strength these past few months, a lot of it. He dashed through the village towards the nearest city to find some answer, answers in the city of Creon.
Meanwhile back at the forest Rase was speaking to himself.
"Farren, the slaughterer, Farren the child of a delusional man, Farren the child, Farren the insane, Farren the powerful..." Rase lifted up his hood revealing his face, instead of looking ancient like his voice indicated he looked to be in his 20's with long vermillion hair and and cold green eyes, his face was ethereally beautiful, he opened his mouth and spoke again,
"Farren the reborn"
----------------------------------------
I sneezed while I was walking back to my dorm, I knew I wasn't getting a cold since my body was immune to illness, perhaps someone was talking about me?But that thought quickly slipped my mind, I hadn't gotten any of the things I had wanted while at the market except for food, which wasn't even on the list I wrote, I was disappointed in myself but hat certainly didn't mean I regretted it, I found out in this world they have chocolate, CHOCOLATE! That god did have obsession with hot chocolate so it isn't a surprise he let this world have it. Maybe I should pray to him a thank you... nah.
"Farren! Hey Farren!" I heard a familiar voice call out to me, it was Karin, I sighed knowing this would be tiring.
"Hey Karin, what do you need" I tried to be polite, I really did but my bitchiness seeped out into my voice unintentionally. Luckily Karin was unfazed.
"Ok it's two things, I'll start off with the some good news and then tell you the best news ok? Ok! So the good news is that Mord the female dorms keeper suddenly up and fixed your room! She added bedsheets and pillows and a rug on the floor, the whole place looks great and her race is known for being pretty nimble and quick so she got in done in 5 minutes it was awesome and now the best news ever! Since I'm on the senior council I pulled some strings to see who'd be on the Junior council and guess what?! You're the Junior Council President!"
I pretended to be surprised, I knew that I would become president considering I implanted the idea into Mr.Ruth's head when I picked up Enn to carry her to the Clinic. Naughty me~
"There is even a rumor that the Principal wants to meet you!" and that's where I choked, I certainly hadn't added the damn principal into my calculations, I knew he must be pretty powerful to run this school which meant S rank or higher, I was S rank right now since I had consumed Meat Heads and Xavier's soul but the chances the Principal was a mere S rank were... unlikely. The whole time I had been in thought Karin had still been rambling about how we'll get to see each other more, I interrupted her.
"Ok Karin! Since you're here why don't we talk about the school? Since I'm new and I'm going to be an important role in this school I need to be well informed and who better than someone on the Senior Council!"
Karin smiled gleefully and guided me to the nearest bench.
"Ok we'll start with the councils, so you spend 8 years at Creon and for the first 4 you are a Junior, that's when you learn the basics and up of magic and combat, a common misconception people have is that everyone who arrives at this school to enroll already know most magic and most students come here already knowing magic and physical fighting and that tends to only be half true, kids come here to advance the learning they already know and become more powerful, although Creon would never let someone who is weak enter our ranks there have been times where kids have awoken affinities that they could not control so they came here so they can learn despite not having good stats other than the affinity, for example If a child awoke the Time affinity which is incredibly rare and powerful but didn't have any training in combat and low mana Creon would still accept them"
"I see, so the councils?"
"Oh right! The teachers and other staff pick 7 students out of the the Junior and Senior years and make them the Student council, these students tend to be the smartest or the strongest of the years, there are different roles in the council too, there is the President who is the strongest out of all of them, the Treasurer who is the smartest, they are sort of like an advisor and accountant rolled into one, the Vice-President is the second strongest and a sort of jack-of-all-trades, they help the Treasurer with accounting and the President with keeping the peace, these 3 are often call the Holy Trinity"
I looked up at the sky, trying to get Gods attention, "Why do you let the humans do this to themselves?"
"The Holy Trinity are the center point of the council, then there is the leader of the disciplinary committee which works under the President and keep the peace in the school, the leader of the research committee which is made up of alchemists and mages who experiment with spells and potions, the leader of the Healing clinic which are all people who focus their studies on healing students and when they graduate they'll heal citizens and stuff, then last but not least leader of the blacksmithing committee, which is mainly comprised of dwarves unsurprisngly, I'm not trying to be rascist there! I supported inter-species marriage you know!"
"Wow people actually have anti-racism campaigns?" This world is certainly developing, I didn't like it.
"Ok so both councils are like this?"
"Well no, the vice presidents of the disciplinary committee, the research committee, the healing clinic, and the blacksmithing committee are in the Junior councils since it's school rules that vice-principals of extra-curricular committees have to be chosen from the junior section, the rule was made when there was a massive fight between the juniors and the seniors because the seniors kept getting chosen for all the influential positions, some students were actually killed during the fights"
"I see, what else is there to cover?" I had basically learnt all that I had wanted to except... "so what species is the dorm mother? you said before 'her species is known to be nimble and fast' didn't you"
"Oh yeah, she is a Yerin, they are a type of Fae, there are so many species of Fae it kinda gets hard to remember but they really drill it into you at school"
That didn't sound fun, "how many species are there then?"
"27"
"Oh that doesn't sound too bad"
"Hundred"
I nearly choked again, I thought this world would be more simple, I had read the books in that bastards study and I only saw 3 or 4 Fae species and the basic races that rule the world, turns out my dad kept outdated information.
"Oh yeah did you hear about The Beserker? It's the name they are giving the guy that killed an entire village and burnt down the forest outside the city skirts, they think he's in the city right now! They say he'd be over 40 and emanate a powerful aura, how creepy is that?"
I raised an eyebrow, the kingdom is out to get me and don't even realize they have their search area was completely wrong. That was good, it bought me time to get to senior year and finish school, then I'll take this kingdom down.
"Thanks for the info Katie"
"It's Karin"
"Ok Kacy, gotta go, see you" I wondered if she was pissed at me yet.
I walked to my new room, I had decided to experiment with my new magic, Time which ironically I hadn't had much time to do yet. I also wanted to see if I could use hybrid elements like Enn and her ice. I remember God saying they wouldn't show up in my status screen but that doesn't mean I didn't have them.
I walked to the center if the room and picked up a book from the library on the way, I threw the book into the air and did the most basic spell of Time in my memories,
The book stopped mid air, hovering with it's pages open. It was quite literally frozen in time.
"I am... way too over powered, fights aren't even going to be fun anymore if I use this, unless it was another Time mage or I was fighting someone who is immune to magic, but Time mages are beyond rare and if there was someone in this world who was immune to magic they would be world famous. There was an obvious solution to this, I have to restrict myself. Obviously I'm not going to lock any of my powers that would just be stupid but when I'm fighting someone I'll only bring out the big guns if absolutely necessary.
Now I had to experiment with the hybrid magic, I searched my brain to see if I had any knowledge on it, I knew that if I had the affinity I would know the spells. I realised that behind the main affinities spells I had all the information I needed on hybrid magic, I cursed myself for being so ignorant. I noticed a system message appear
Hybrid Elements Unlocked, They Will Now Appear On Your Status Screen
"Before you get too angry at yourself those memories were hidden from me too, I believe the High God has once again intervened" I heard Guardian say, every time he said High God ever his voice was filled with reverence, I didn't get it.
"Jeez, that guy not only stopped my nightly hot chocolate breaks with him but now any time he actually talks to me it's always bad news"
"The High God has his reasons, he is truly wise and-"
"Yeah yeah whatever, let's play a game Guardian, what hybrid element should I play with first, there is a selection of Ice, Lightning, Beast, Plant, Metal, Poison, Blood, Sound, Void or Magma, most of these elements will be pretty useful for a later date I'm sure"
"You should try Plant, this room needs a little green in it"
"Oh look who's the stylist now"

{Ryan's POV}
I was walking to the grocery store, it was just an average walk to get some milk, I had read on the news that the Skin Reaper had disappeared and no murders had happened matching her profile, so it was a good day. But now I'm in some cathedral of some sort standing on a platform with heaps of people looking at me, it was freaky as all hell.
"Welcome sir to Etho, our planet needs you" a woman in white robes walked forwards while speaking.
"I-I'm sorry what?" the people in the room looked at me in pity.
"We have summoned you for a coming evil, we do not know what it is but our Seer told us of a great darkness here to destroy this great kingdom, I must ask if you undertake the role as our hero" all eyes were on me, I hated attention, I hated it but now I had more people focused on my than in my entire life. I didn't want to be a hero, but I felt a tugging in my chest, an urge to say yes to this woman in front of me is this what they call a sense of adventure? I couldn't help but speak the words.
"Yes"
Everyone smiled, I noticed one girl in the room with two men on either side. She looked about my age with black hair and warm brown eyes, she was beyond beautiful, she looked at me and our eyes met, my heart skipped a beat.
"Thank you Hero, may I ask what your name is?"
"Ryan, may I ask who you all are?"
The red haired woman smiled when I glanced the girl across the room.
"I am the leader of the church of the Light, my name is Ceren, over there is the soon to be Queen of our kingdom Princess Yeri, you will meet our king soon, the rest of the people here are the mages that helped summon you"
"Mages? Summon?"
The others looked confused, Ceren just had a grim face, "I was hoping we would get someone who had come from a world like ours, this world has something called mana, we use it in our everyday lives it is a part of us, mana is an essence in our body that lets us cast spells like this"
Ceren held out her hand and a ball of light appeared, I flinched away from the sudden brightness, Ceren spoke, "This is a basic spell called
I comply and a screen appears before me

"So?" asked Ceren.
"Um, I don't know how to show you but I think my stats are pretty good for level 1, but I have two titles" I said deciding not to tell these people the third, it wasn't exactly something you would tell people who were looking at you in such reverence
There was a murmer in the crowd, Ceren looked gleeful.
"Say 'Title Description" and then the titles name, I assume it would be The Hero"
I did as she asked and a new screen came up.
Title Description:
The Hero: You have accepted the role of a saviour, you will go down in history as a Hero

+500 Leadership

"Title Decription The Blessed" I say and achieve another screen.
Title Description:
The Blessed: You have been blessed by a god, you will gain a boost in stats and perhaps even a special skill if you win enough favour.
+ Random boosts to all warrior stats
+ 1000 mana
+ Increased growth rate
"I can see you are still trying to take it all in" says Ceren seeing my shocked face, I nod numbly.
"Let us meet the king and you can explain your stats and we can see what god has blessed you, then you can rest in your new living quarters until dinner" she smiles kindly at me, I feel myself relax and follow her as she walks out the huge doors in the room. As we walk the halls the princess comes up to me smiling. Only me, Yeri and Ceren had been left while the others had scattered.
"Hi, my name is- well I suppose you already know but in any case it's Yeri, Yeri Draconis, and before you ask I'm not descended from dragons it's just my ancestors wanted to sound high and mighty when the founded the kingdom" she rolled her eyes, but I could tell she was proud of the name.
"My last name is just Smith, it's a pretty common name where I'm from"
I cursed myself, I was socially inept at talking to pretty girls and that right there was awkward beyond belief, I was 22 and had barely talked to anyone as beautiful as Yeri. But to my surprise she giggled.
"I'll just call you Ryan, my kingdoms hero"
Her smile made this whole summoning this less chaotic, in fact in made my world come into focus, we spoke some more as we walked down the halls, eventually we reached the tallest doors I had ever seen, the door was almost 30 meters tall in height and 20 meters in width, it had engravings of dragons and humans battling and kings leading armies against undead creatures, I swear I saw one of the undead move but I waved it off, Yeri came up to me while I admired the door.
"Amazing isn't it? We had the finest dwarven sculpters craft this, some of the people in it even move, that was with the help of a Mage who had the hybrid element metal and enchanted the whole thing, I wasn't alive when it happened but Father said it was beautiful, apparently every 3 years the whole engraving moves but anytime it was supposed to happen I was always away on a trip and missed it, people say it's so beautiful that normal citizens sneak into the palace to watch"
"It certainly is captivating, also speaking of your Father what should I prepare for?"
Yeri looked amused, "he's not very serious when it's about something other than work, but when it comes to it he can be downright scary" I must've looked worried because she pat me on the shoulder and spoke in a kinder tone, "don't worry, he won't be like that with you... I think..." although her last words weren't very helpful I felt slightly better.
"Thanks" I said as the doors opened, I saw the inside of the room, there was paintings of what I could only assume to be gods on the ceiling and large colums made of a white, glittering, smooth stone I didn't recongnise. A large oval table was in the middle of the massive room with the head chair being larger and engraved with gold and made of the same smooth white stone the colums were. The other chairs were just plain, sturdy wood. In the head chair sat the king, he had a crown made out of a dark purple metal and colourful gems stood out on it. On the plain chairs were people dressed in fine clothing of silk and small gems sewed upon them, I was guessing they were the nobles.
"Welcome Hero, may we be informed of your name?" the kings booming voice echoed out towards us, his face was serious. He had the same black hair as his daughter but instead of the warm brown eyes she had, he had cold blue eyes like ice. I saw Ceren and Yeri take a seat at the table, Yeri gestured to the seat next to her for me. I gratefully took it and sat.
"His name is Ryan my king, unfortunately he did not come from a world of magic like ours but I can tell he has great potential" spoke Ceren.
"I see, but it does not matter, welcome Ryan, as I'm sure you've been told this kingdom is in great peril, it's name is Irin Kingdom and we are the capital of this country, we have a Seer in this city right now who has told us a great threat is looming over us, she said that they are close to us and are not who we would expect, she says this foe is powerful"
"So you summoned me?"
"Yes, whenever a threat arises against this kingdom my family has summoned a hero from another world"
"Will I be able to go back?" I asked, afraid of the answer.
"Only if you complete your quest, stay sane and stay on the side of good, the gods promised anyone who was summoned and did these could return" I breathed a sigh of relief, at least those requirements were possinle for me, it was better than him saying 'no'.
"Now onto other business, we must test what gd has decided to bless you" a large rough crystal was placed in front of me, "place your hand on the crystal" I did as I was told and the crystal glowed a pure white, I felt a burning senstaion on my hand and tried to pull away but couldn't, the pain got worse but before I could cry out a vision flashed through my mind, it was a picture of a man in red armour, but the armour wasn't red naturally, the man was holding the head of what looked like a demon with one horn broken, the area around the man was a bloody battlefield, the man turned to me.
"I am Vesuvius, I am the God of Battle, War and Blood, you have the Hybrid Affinity of Blood and a need to fight and to explore and adventure, remember me" the vision faded to black and I passed out
