As Farren walked out the doorway she saw a body heading right towards her, she sidestepped as it flew past her.
“Watch where you throw things!”
Farren looked directly at the source of the body, a guy that looked like Farren’s age stood there. He had bright red hair and freckles on his face, the odd thing about him was he looked weak, really weak. Considering how powerful his attack was that he made the guy literally fly across the room Farren expected a little muscle but this guy was skinny almost to the extreme, his legs had some fat on them and looked at least leg-shaped and his arms were the same but how he got his strength was a mystery
“Sorry!” He cried out.
For some reason, he started to approach Farren. As she looked around she realised she was in a room that looked like a battle arena, they were what seemed to be boxing rings and within the were kids between the ages of 8 to 15 while older kids were gathered around and watching the fights. Farren assumed they were students of Creon.
Soon the red-head was face to face with her, what Farren didn’t see before was that this guy had pitch black eyes, not just the iris and pupil but the sclera too.
When Farren had read about the races she had only heard of the basic ones so she had no idea what this guy was.
“So what’s your name?” Said the red-head, his eyes made it difficult to read him but he seemed genuinely interested.
“Farren, yours?” She said rudely, she felt no need to be polite considering this guy had such a joyful personality, she hated joyful
“Ah, so you’ve heard of my race then…” He looked downcast now, his quick mood swing and odd statement confused her.
“Wait what?” Exclaimed Farren. Now the guy looked confused.
“I’m one of the sub-races, the Fae, I thought you knew that and were looking down on me, even half-bloods like you can do that I guess” He sighed, it seemed like he was used to this.
“I was just annoyed you were being so happy, I don’t really care about races” Farren sounded pitying, which was a tone that didn’t match her sentence.
“So you don’t mind me?” He said, looking much happier than before
“Well I never said tha- “ Suddenly he grabbed her hand and started shaking it.
“My name is Refii but you can call me Ref, glad to meet you, I hope we become good friends” Ref said, Farren could swear there were sparkles coming out of his eyes and a tail wagging from his ass. She really hated these types but she knew them well, once they make up their mind there was no turning back.
Farren sighed and gave up, it’s not liked she didn’t plan to make friends but she thought she at least would be the one making advances.
“Nice to meet you Ref, so is me being a half-blood that obvious?”
“Well yeah, sorry about that but you have the mixed hair colour trait although it is odd with the half black half white it’s pretty obvious, some people who are half human half elf have characteristics that they can hide like ears or markings but I can’t tell what you are since I’ve never seen hair like yours before”
Farren started to think, she had put down that she was human for her info sheet and it was without doubt Ref would find that out, she needed something for a cover. A soon as she thought that Farren found something in Xavier’s memories.
“I have a skill that made me like this, I’m actually human and my hair was originally black”
“Wow really? What’s the skill then?”
Farren realised she didn’t think this one through, she only knew through Xavier’s memories that skills can augment your appearance but not specific skills, then again this guy probably only knew as much as her about skills so anything was fine right?
“The Falling Snow skill, it’s what made half my hair white”
“That’s so cool! I got sent to this academy after I got kicked out of my clan, I was born with a weird innate strength, at least that’s what my mother tells me, I was a baby when it happened”
“If you were a baby how did they know about your strength?”
“I lifted my father up when I was 3 months old”
Rif said it so casually it freaked even Farren out, but she was starting to like this guy even more. Farrens grand plan is to destroy this kingdom and perhaps get a powerful few allies. On Earth she had friends help whenever things got messy, other killers and such. Although now that she thinks about it they weren’t really friends, they just used each other to get out of sticky situations and mop up blood. Maybe Farren could get real friends this time.

“I wonder if I’m actually capable of that…”
“Are you an examinee?” Said a very beefy man who had approached to the surprise of both Rif and Farren, he broke her out of her odd moment of reflection. Rif instantly tensed up as soon as he heard the man’s rough voice.
“I just finished my exam but she’s new!” Ref pushed Farren towards the muscle man and ran off, which she found to be very suspicious.
“Good a new toy to play with!” He boomed out, originally Farren would have thought this man was some sort of paedophile but this guy seemed like he was more interested in bodybuilding and pain. He had a hardcore look with muscles upon muscles and what seemed to be a buzz-cut, how he had gotten that in this world Farren had no clue.
“So what’s this about then?” Said Farren, she had yet to find out where that examiner had sent her.
“So you don’t know? This is the exam room for the special classes, there are only two for each year and they are for warriors and mages, what you have to do is defeat the opponent that your examiner assigns, simple huh?”
Farren shrugged knowing it probably wasn’t. The large man seemed unhappy by her response but didn’t talk about it.
“Before I assign someone I need to know what your specialty is”
“I am both a warrior and a mage”
“Ah that is a rare path considering the amount of effort, if you take both the mage test and the warrior test then you can get assigned to both classes
“I guess I’m your examiner considering there is no one else free, my name is Tobirian Ruth but you can just call me Mr. Ruth, I’ll be pitching you against one of the 4th year warrior students, don’t use any high scale spells or mid scale because that would be too much of an advantage but I think you’re too young to know how to cast them. It doesn’t matter if you win, it’s marked on how well you perform but if you win I promise I’ll give you a passing grade”
Farren only smiled, she was probably as strong as one of the teachers considering her level growth and skills.
“Well then, bring them up” Farren said, she jumped up on the nearest platform. Only a second later did a 12-year-old boy show up, he had tousled brown hair and dull green eyes and an emotionless yet fairly good-looking face and looked like your basic farmer boy but Farren felt he was much better than average considering the looks of admiration and fear he was getting from the bystanders.
“Hiya~ I’m Farren what’s your name?” She smiled one of her nicest smiles, she could see other boys who were watching blush.
“Of course they blush, I designed myself that way” She knew that even while only 8 she looked quite pretty, she had hidden her true form with an
“All right you two, the rules are no killing and no continuing the fight after the other one is knocked out, you also cannot step out of the ring as that is an immediate loss, ready? Begin!”
He was a warrior class, that was the first thing Farren found out. What some warriors could do is use raw mana as a shield or amplifier on their bodies but it was uncommon for most fighters to have that ability the chances were 1 in 100 and it was now Farren realised why people admired and feared this boy, he was one of them.
As soon as he threw a punch it would have broken the sound barrier on Earth, she didn’t know what the limits were on this planet. Farren side stepped as soon as possible, time seemed to slow down as she saw his arm hit the air where her stomach used to be. His arm was clad in a translucent white mist that Farren assumed was raw mana. It seemed this guy planned to hurt her, Farren’s smile grew to impossible lengths.
“Naughty boy doing such a brutal attack to such a lovely lady like myself, honestly I’m offended”
The boy looked slightly surprised she managed to dodge, but that surprise was enough for Farren. She went at a speed that made light jealous and punched the boy in the nose, she didn’t use anything fancy just raw strength, of course Farren didn’t use full strength considering the boy would be mincemeat before he could blink. He went back but didn’t fall, he shook his head to clear his mind and gave Farren a new look, a look of determination.
“His pride will probably be hurt if he loses to just an initiate… but that sounds fun”
Farren dashed forward and used the low-class Earth spell
“Aw sweetie I’m sorry, I don’t kiss on the first date” Farren teased, his grip was iron tight so using the close quarters she head-butted him. He reeled back and let go of her. Her teasing and the fact she was winning frustrated him to no end.
The boy used a massive surge of strength and finally broke free from the rock, from the sheaths behind his back that Farren had not seen till now he pulled two dark blue short swords out. Farren had been wondering when he was going to bring out the weapons instead of brawling. Farren summoned her scythe but in a different form, it was a podao from her old world, usually they were used for cutting horses thick hides but considering this guy’s endurance it seemed like she need it.
Their blades clashed, her pitch-black blade with his two blades in an X blocking it. Farren looked and saw the boys mask of emotionless was broken, he was smiling like a madman.
“Having fun?” She said in a coy voice, the boy looked genuinely confused for a second until he realised he was smiling. He stopped and put on his usual face.
“My name is Deren” He said, he acknowledged her at least.
They broke away from each other and only one was breathing hard, it was a bit unfair since Farren could end this easily but taking her time was fun, one of the best things about life was how much time you had and how time sped up and slowed down. Then Farren heard a familiar ding sound.
Time Affinity Unlocked
Farren was happy she gained a new affinity but was more happy that she had finally figured out how to unlock the rest, she just needed a deeper comprehension of them.
While Farren was hinking this Deren threw down his swords.
"I forfeit, she can clearly win at any time"
Mr, Ruth who had been observing nodded his head.
"Good observation Deren, and Farren..."
"Hmm?" Farren inquired, although she knew what he was going to say.
"You pass"
"Hehe~ thank you"
