Chapter 4 | Useless

Watching the Adru run back to the group MC decided to follow along.

After a few minutes if running back he finally met up with the group.

The group, seeing the running Adru thought he was being chased and were about to run away.

The Adru saw this action and waved the stick in his hands gently.

Seeing the Adru so calm made the others rethink. They decided to stay back as it looked like he wasn't being chased after all.

The Adru approached the others with a stick in his hand. This was very odd to the group, and most felt uncomfortable.

Stopping a good distance away from others he began to move the stick around in his hand until he pointed it at the wound on his opposite hand.

The Adru did not understand what this meant, so he decided to thrust the stick into his hand once again.

This time even more blood came out. But there were no screams.

They Adru now began to look interestingly at the stick. But most of them did not see a practical use for it. They've never killed an animal before and didn't know for sure how one died.

This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.

They didn't think this would do much damage to animals if at all. The adults looked at it like it was entertainment. Only the kids were dreaming about the hero they could be.

After quickly dismissing the revolutionary weapon the adults went back to the site they stayed at last night to finish packing up. They’ve recently felt as though there were something watching them, causing them to keep moving. From dawn to dust they barely ever stopped.

Sad about the reaction of the rest of the group, the Adru decided to hold onto the stick to knock down fruits from trees with.

They quickly moved through the forest for the rest of the day. The total time they stopped hadn't even been one hour.

After nearly 18 hours of hiking, they decided to stay the night. They found a river that seemed to have lots of fruits around it. It was also densely covered in leaves that fell to the ground.

They quickly found things to sleep under. One Adru slept under a rock while another one slept in the open. This was the only way they had to express their personalities as of now.

The sky quickly faded into darkness. The darkness seemed like it extended into the forest, turning the messy ground into a dark brown that was hard to see.

In the surroundings, a very odd even unknowingly happened just a few moments ago nearby.

The Falo had been attacking their biggest enemy at the moment. They were a variant of normal wolves called shadow wolves. These wolves only left their caves at night and detested sunlight.

The Falo hated this and wanted to kill all of them.

There were multiple dens of these shadow wolves across the forest, but the biggest den by far was nearby the Adru.

In the middle of the night five Falo snuck into the caves, they went through the caves silencing anyone they find.

In the first 20 minutes alone they killed over 300 shadow wolves. However, this was just the beginning.
