Chapter 3 | Weaponry

Chapter 3 | Weaponry

After Pavin began watching them again, he noticed that there was no weaponry. Nobody had anything to defend themselves with.

This was a very big problem. If the Adru's luck was bad enough they may even become extinct overnight.

Pavin had to fix this problem, fast.

Pavin looked around the surrounding forest but found nothing but sticks and tiny stones that weren't big enough to have any use.

After staring at the ground for a few minutes, Pavin said while still deep in thought “Well, its better than nothing.”

Pavin decided to wait a night and then figure out how to inspire people tomorrow, as the Adru were all grouped together. It would be better if he would inspire a person when they were alone.

The night flew by like lightning. There wasn't much that happened in the forest at night. It was eerily silent, with just the slight sound of buzzing in the background.

Most of the animals here relied on their strength and agility to fight. So almost all of them didn't go out at night because of the huge disadvantage it brought with it.

However, there was always an exception. The Falo always loved to hunt at night. They had great stealth that could be used even during the day, but it was easier to hunt at night for them.

The Falo were the natural enemies of the Adru. They both relied on their stealth abilities, but the Falo were miles ahead of them in terms of skill.

The ‘Imitation’ the Falo saw the Adru doing upset them, so whenever they got the chance they would gladly kill the Adru.

The falo themselves looked like a swan but had some major differences. Their body was entirely pitch black, and so were its feathers. Even their eyes were a dark gray.

They had a weird skill set that set them aside from other animals. They could contract their body until it was no bigger than a rock, even taking on the same texture.

The only way you would find out it was an animal was if you touched it. They still had their feather feel to it. But barely any animal could touch these feathers and get away.

They were an apex-predator who wanted to exterminate everything that had similar skills as them. The Adru as of now were near the bottom of the list. But who knows when they will move up?

The Adru woke up at dawn, and immediately checked their surroundings. After seeing no immediate threats they sent a single Adru to check the nearby forests for food as well as enemies they should avoid.

The Adru, who looked taller than the average person for the species was around 6’1 inches.

He began the hunt as soon as he was everyone looking at them. They still haven't developed any form of communication but their brains are still slightly evolving.

Even though it's not much it could bring out a huge effect if they begin fighting.

The Adru had been walking around the nearby forests for about an hour before I began.

Unsure how to go about this I sent a little of my will into his brain trying to gauge a reaction. And to my surprise there was none. Confused, I tried to send more of my will towards his brain. But it still didn't work. Puzzled, I looked towards his brain to realize it grew slightly bigger. And in his eyes was a flash of light.

It was as if he was just following a formula before. But now it seemed as if he is in control of himself.

Still not satisfied I try another way of doing this. I move to where he is looking and insert will into a small stick that had a slightly pointed end.

As if drawn to it he looked at the stick, then he picked it up.

I then inserted my will into the point on the stick which caused him to look at it. I kept inserting my will until I almost passed out until he finally thrust his hand on the point heavily.

This caused a huge gash in his hand, but he didn't show any signs of pain. He only showed curiosity.

He decided to run back and inform the other Adru of his discovery.
