The buzzing of an alarm woke up the slumbering adult. Whimpering, Durk stretched his hand out of the warm safe haven of his blanket and felt around the desk until he finally managed to turn the thing off. He really contemplated in whether to go back to sleep or not, but it was 6:30 in the morning and he had to be at work by 7, so after careful consideration he stretched his limbs and rubbed his eyes, making sure to turn off his 6:45 alarm ,that he had set just in case, so that it wouldn't bother him. After getting up from bed he slipped his feet in his old slippers and walked out of his room, before forgetting that he had nothing on and immediately going back in to put on a casual white shirt and shorts.

When he was done he finally left his room and began heading for the public bathroom. During his walk he passed by a few haggard looking people locking their rooms, probably going out for work the same as him. Ever since he had moved into this excuse of an apartment building 3 years ago he had come to know that the majority of people living here, including himself, were people who couldn't afford living in normal apartments, so here they were. His first week here had been quite depressing for him as ever person he had tried to talk with, barely any paid him any attention.
