Triple Threat

"So who is Jack exactly?" Morgan said as she took a bite of her food whilst looking at Connor. Connor simply lowered his head before looking up to meet Morgan's gaze.

"If I'm honest Morgan, I don't really know who Jack is anymore." Connor said with a quiet voice. “He’s done a lot of good things and a lot of bad.” Connor said as he reclined into his chair.

“Here’s a fact, Jack and his brother once killed a cow with a toilet.” Connor said as he developed a smirk on his face. Morgan choked on her food when she heard Connor say that.

“Yeah, he was trying to set a cannonball record and saw an abandoned toilet on the side of the road. They pulled over, wrapped some rope around it, tied it to the inside of the car and went back on the road.” Connor said.

“Allegedly, they said that they hit a bump in the road, the trunk popped open and the toilet decided to make a break for it.” Connor said as the smirk on his face turned into a grin. “They dragged the toilet for about a quarter of a mile, until they got fed up with it swerving everywhere in the road and decided to hit another bump.” Connor said. “It was launched into the air, forcing the rope snap and causing the toilet to fly into a field and hit a cow.”

Morgan simply had a large grin on her face. “Is that the only fact that you know about them?” Morgan asked as she giggled. Connor’s smile evaporated quickly.

“That’s the only real thing I know about Jack’s brother. They were quite the duo if I am honest.” Connor said. “That wasn't the only thing that happened on that trip.” Connor said. “Oh I got to hear this.” Morgan said as she leaned forward to rest her arms on the table.

“They were pulled over for speeding and when the officer walked up to the window, he asked them if they had any weapons. They greeted the officer with Jack speaking a different language and his brother pretending to be deaf.” Connor said.

“He told me that they had to wait half an hour for a translator to show up.” Connor said. “One thing led to another and the car was being searched.” Connor said with a smirk on his face. Morgan leans back in her seat and starts giggling. “They found a large black backpack and inside it was fireworks.” Connor said.

“When the cops asked what they were doing with explosives, they said don’t worry about it.” Connor said as he let out his own chuckle.

“What happened afterwards?” Morgan asked as she kept laughing. “They were let go but the cops confiscated the fireworks." Connor said with a grin. Connor stood up and started w

"Let's get out of here, we need to start making our way to the safe house." Connor said as he motioned for Morgan to stand up. “Bring your helmet, I don’t know who we’re going to meet at the safe house.” Connor said.

“Connor?” Morgan asked quietly. “Should we trust Jack?” Morgan asked. Connor nods faintly and reaches out for Morgan. “We’ll be okay Morgan, I promosie.” Connor said with a faint smile on his face right before he kissed Morgan on her forehead. “Grab your helmet, we’re heading to the safehouse now.” Connor said as he waited for Morgan at the door.

Jack woke up with a sudden shock, immediately jumping up to his feet only to see a female figure that was beside him jump up as well. Before Jack did anything else, he kicked the stranger in the chest causing her to fall backwards and into the chair she was sitting up. “Jack!”The figure yelled.

Jack simply ignored her and ran for the door. “What the hell?” Jack thought as he stepped into a hallway that represented a hotel theme. Before Jack could do anything else, the female figure managed to jump onto Jack’s back and have him in a choke hold.

“Jack it’s me dammit, calm down.” Jack started to realize who that voice belonged to. “Sarah?” Jack whispered. “Yeah it’s me, now get back into the room before the neighbors start getting curious.” Sarah said as she loosened her grip around Jack's neck and they both started getting up to enter the room.

“What are you doing here in Vegas?” Sarah asked as she rubbed her chest. “Looking for you, I need your help.” Jack said as he tried to slow his breathing and his heartbeat.

“You could’ve called, I ain’t no ghost.” Sarah said as he folded her arms. “Besides, why do you want my help?” Sarah asked. “I’ve got a job and I want your help". Jack said as he surveyed the room in an attempt to find his pistol. "You’re a triple threat and that’s rare nowadays.” Jack said as he walked over to the bed where he was sleeping only moments ago.

"Who's the contractor?" Sarah asked as she reached around her back to pull out a pistol. "I'm the contractor and this is an exclusive job. I need people I can trust for this job." Jack said as he looked Sarah in the eye.

"Are you going to shoot me or hand me my piece back?" Jack asked as he already knew the answer but wanted to ask. "Twenty five percent, that's my cut Jack." Sarah said as she flipped the pistol around and waited for Jack to grab it. "Deal." Jack said as he took his pistol back.

Sarah smiled and put her hand on Jack's shoulder. "I'm sorry that you lost your brother Jack, for what it's worth you two were quite the duo." Sarah said. "We need to get going then, everyone is down on the gambling floor." Sarah said as she took her hand off Jack's shoulder and motioned for him to follow.

"Don't tell me Rob and Tyson are counting cards again." Jack asked as he put his pistol behind his back and folded the back of his shirt to hide it. "They are unfortunately, we might be fighting our way out of here." Sarah said as she moved out of the room with a certain swagger Jack hadn't seen before.

Jack soon followed and checked his phone to see the time.

"How long was I out for?" Jack asked as they entered the elevator to make their way down to the gambling floor. "You were out for half the night, you passed out because of blood loss Jack." Sarah said as she pushed the button in the elevator for the gambling floor.

"Your new friend Yumi was able to stop the bleeding." Sarah said with a soft voice. “But she wasn't able to stop you from being an idiot.” Sarah said.

"Jack?" Sarah said with a soft but firm voice. "Yeah?" Jack responded. Sarah tried to put her hand into Jack’s hand but felt it move across his body to crack his knuckles.

"I forgive you, but I won't forget." Jack said with a cold voice. Sarah's heart dropped when she heard those words. “I wanted to get serious, but you freaked out and ran.” Jack said as he looked up and watched the digital counter shrink.

“We’ll talk I promise, but right now we need to get out of town.” Jack said right before the elevator door’s parted open. When the elevator doors opened, they were greeted with hotel’s security waiting for them standing next to each other. When the first guard notices Jack's face, his eyes go wide.

“Hey aren’t you that one guy that’s wanted around the world?” The guard asked. Sarah and Jack exchange a quick glimpse before responding. “I’m sorry, my boyfriend doesn't speak english.” Sarah said quickly.

“What language does he speak?” The second guard asked as he moved one of his hands down to his pistol. Jack started speaking what little middle eastern he knew and was surprised to hear the guard respond with a question in the same language.

“Shit, about to get loud.” Jack thought as he noticed the first guard was reaching for his handcuffs. Before Jack could make a move, Sarah had beaten him to it. Sarah kicked the first guard in the chest and sent him flying backwards.

Jack kept his focus on the guard that was in front him as he saw the other go flying at the edge of his peripheral. The guard had drawn his pistol and had it aimed in the direction towards Jack. With a quick reaction, Jack managed to jump to the side quickly before lunging at the guard forcing the guard to miss his shot.

With Jack lunging onto the guard and forcing the fight onto the ground, they both engage in a fierce fight. Both of them trying to control the fight and end it quickly. After some hard hit’s from both of them, they’re back on their feet and Jack managed to slide the pistol far away from the scene.

“I’ll give you credit sir, if you don’t know what to do start fighting.” Jack said in between breaths. The guard simply responded to Jack’s one liner with cracking his knuckles. “Ten million dollars to bring you in dead or alive is a lot of money. Nothing personal bitch.” The guard said as he quickly lunged at Jack with a loaded left arm.

Jack quickly ducks and stands up quickly as the guard charges at him. With Jack’s shoulder on the inside of the guard, he sends the guard flying until he hits the wall across from where the elevator is and knocks him out.

“One down, one to go.” Jack thought as he turned his head to see Sarah and the other guard going at each other. Jack starts to run at them and manages to sweep the legs of the guard and force him to land hard on the ground. Sarah capitalizes on the moment and quickly grabs one of the few fire extinguisher’s that are on the wall and slams it into the guards head.

As Jack and Sarah get onto their feet to catch their breath, Jack looks at Sarah to see that her blond hair that she normally keeps in a ponytail has unfolded. “You actually look nice for once Sarah.” Jack said in a sarcastic tone. Sarah responded by rolling her eyes. “I didn’t mean to punch him.” Sarah said as she looked over to the other side of the hallway.

Jack followed her gaze and saw a chef laying down halfway in the room and the hallway. Jack turned his head back to Sarah to see her tying her hair into a ponytail.

“Did you just punch a chef in the face?” Jack asked in a half sarcastic tone. Sarah simply grunted and moved her hands back down to her sides. “He’s used to dodging knives, not punches.” Sarah said as she and Jack started making their way down the hallway.

When they reached the end of the hallway, the sounds of gunshots and screaming could be heard around the connor. “Well this is going to be quite an experience.” Jack said as he and Sarah both rounded the corner.
