Chapter 34

"Are you guys going to tell me what is going on?" Jet noticed an extreme rise in the temperature.

"We possibly are going to die soon." Lily looked at the sky and then back down at Glass.

"Thanks, that was no help at all. You guys make sure Glass doesn't kill me." Jet went into his inner world. First thing he did was look over Alex.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" Alex looked up at him. She was riddled with wounds. There were shards of glass falling out of her body.

"I'm going to use that giant library for a bit. You heal back up." Jet patted her on the head before walking away.

Once in the enormous castle, which is the library. Jet thought about what he wanted, and the shelves moved and shifted around. He frowned when a shelf full of books stopped in front of him. All he was thinking about was a book to help him get some kind of magic eyes or something along that line. Some of the books were on how to create eyes. It was not exactly what he had in mind, so he skipped that section. Most of the books had to do with eyes. He did not have the time for that. Not that he didn't like the idea of having new eyes.

Now Jet stood back and tried to think of something else. This time, he leaned more on his magic sense than his eyes. The shelves moved and shifted around yet again. This time, only two books appeared. He picked up the one named Sense of The Stars. After a few paragraphs, he knew he couldn't use this book. The person had to have Mag-Liv energy. That he did not have, and it didn't sound very easy, or he couldn't understand the book yet. The next book was called Aerial Sense. This one made more sense to him.

"You have got to be kidding me." Jet laughed as he read the book. The method was the same as he used in his eyes. All he needed to do was use the same method outside his body. He was already using his magic to keep Glass from walking out of time around them. So, all he needed to do was change his magic to the same as his magic sense. Jet shut the book and put it away.

When Jet got back to the real world, he heard fighting. He quickly changed his magic around him and saw a semblance of the world. What he saw first interested him. Lily had listened to him making a giant illusion to grab Glass. Too bad it did not affect her. Glass was making some magnifying glass that torched Lily's illusions. "Why is it getting hotter?" Jet asked.

"The world is wrapped in flames," Almark said offhandedly.

Jet didn't like the sound of that. But, he figured his future self had the problem handled. He might think differently if he knew that his future self was planetside. As for Glass, well she had a lot of glass around them. This problem needed to be taken care of first. "Huh, when did my magic start regenerating on its own?"

Almark smiled. "Good, that means Carion may be on his way."

Jet was not about to be shown up by his grandson. Then he got distracted by the massive amount of glass building up below them. They needed to take the girl down. With his new sight, he sent his magic through the building, along with the ones around him. Blue cracks formed on his body as he forced his cores to produce magic. "Get on my soul plate now." He yelled at Almark and Lily. Jet decided to call the gravity wells. He had accidentally used it on a plane.

"Wait, I didn't know you could pull this off at your stage?" Almark looked at the crumbling city.

"Jet, are you crazy? Why would you open so many holes in space?" Lily shouted at him.

"Here I thought that I was using gravity magic." Jet gasped out between breaths. His body felt as if it was on fire.

"No, what you did was mix your Jump powers with your magic. So, instead of going to another world, you sent everything else. Not only that, if you keep forcing your magic cores open like that, you will die." Lily shook Jet while yelling at him.

"Lily, please don't knock us," Jet stopped talking when he saw all the,' He was going to call it glass', but it was sand. He had not considered that glass and sand were the same. More cracks formed on his skin as a shield of wind encased them. When he could teleport to the ground, he did. That had been a bad idea on his part. The ground around them shifted. "Why is there so much sand around here?"

"Jet that's not sand. We are not being attacked by Glass. You need to get rid of all the holes in space before everything is sucked away." Almark explained quickly.

Jet wanted his eyesight back. Usually, his magic would die out after a few seconds.

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

But apparently, using his World Jumper powers was another story. "Oh, did I accidentally kill Glass?"

"No, she is fine. You broke my lock on time here. We will need to go forward in time and catch her. Pulling her completely back will be impossible for me right now. Please wait for me. Hopefully, I'll be back in minutes and hopefully not an hour." A silver grandfather clock formed behind Almark before he disappeared.

"I hope this doesn't take much longer. The flames have disappeared, but Jefferson and Ford won't be able to stall for long." Lily looked over to Jet. "You don't ever change."

"I'll take that as a compliment." Jet sat down on the ground to rest.

"It is not a compliment. You waste far too much magic. Not only that, when was the last time you rested and fully recovered?" Lily asked.

"I had all my magic back before the fights." Jet had had time for that, at least.

"Have you noticed that your magic is decreasing? What, you can only use half of what you could at the start." Lily let out a sigh. "Judging from my magic sight, you only have a few weeks to live in your condition."

Jet sat there for a minute before talking again. "That's no good."

"Seriously, this is what I'm talking about. You don't even care if you die soon." Lily felt like strangling him.

Jet got back to his feet and smiled. "Everyone dies eventually. But I'm sure your number is off by a few years." Jet raised his hand and showed three fingers. "If I go no further, I'll have three years left."

"Don't you want to stay alive longer? You do have a wife." Lily growled back.

"Not quite there yet, and as for living longer. I wish that were an option. I keep getting pushed from fight to fight. If I could take a nice rest, I would." Jet looked over at something Lily couldn't see.

"Then why didn't you leave this world? You didn't have to go see what the Alteras Tower wanted." Lily shot back.

"Oh, I mostly wanted to get Amanda's ring back. The pull to the tower was strong, but I didn't want to lose the ring." Jet walked over to look at some air. "I think Almark may be back soon. There is a ripple here that's getting bigger."

"That's nice to know. I got a bone to pick with whoever the Time Walker is." Carion pulled a crystal out of his pocket. "Yo gramps put this in your world." He tossed it to Jet.

Jet caught it and looked at the crystal that had a crack. "What is this?"

"No time, put it away." Carion stood next to Jet and looked at the spot Jet had been looking. "This person has to pay."

"We need Glass alive." Lily shook her head, wondering why Carion had to show up.

"I don't want this Glass dead. But, they will pay for getting Jefferson killed." Carion fist clenched tightly enough to draw blood.

Jet looked away from the forming hole in space. "Jeff is dead?"

"Yes, he held off Filixerixix and paid the price. To live through everything that had happened. Then, he was killed by Filixerixix after he had finally been taken care of it in our time. However, this Glass character will pay. That man was family to me." Carion eyes burned with rage. Then his attitude did a one-eighty. "What happened to your eyes?"

"Oh, this Glass woman controls glass, and some got into my eyes. It's seriously a drawback not being able to see. The world looks funny using magic sight, well sense now. So what happened to your arm?" Jet went along with Carion's attitude.

"I'm sure it is a pain. But, you get used to not looking with your eyes. Only way to fight eventually." Carion lifted his left arm to point at his missing fist. "I wanted to look like you."

"You failed horribly. I lost my entire right arm, not the left fist." Jet's head slowly tilted. "They're back." Almark and Glass both reappeared.

Almark immediately locked down time around them. The black grandfather clock appeared. "Alright, get her, guys."

Jet decided while she was off balance, he would trap her with earth magic. As the dirt around Glass moved into position, an explosion threw them away several yards. When Jet got to his feet, he tried to figure out what was happening. Lines of energy were spreading on Glass. "Anyone want to tell me what's happening?"

"Runes are forming on her skin. It looks like she can use Mag-Liv energy." Lily took several steps back.

"Well, shit just got real." Carion smiled.

"How do we beat someone with that kind of energy?" The radiance of her magic temporarily blinded Jet's mind.

"Forget about holding back. We only need her to stay alive for half a minute for the plan to work." Almark warned everyone. Right then, a smile crossed Glass's lips. She moved with extraordinary speed.

Jet stood in shock at what he had barely sensed. Glass had gone straight for Almark. Lily and Carion managed to get in front of him. Lily lay in a pool of her blood now, and Carion had a spear of glass through his chest. The point was no more than an inch from Almark's head. Glass pulled back quickly, coughing out blood. He noticed that her energy had dropped drastically with that one move. Though she still glowed brightly to his senses. "Lily." Jet walked toward her.

"Jet, get your head in the game. Lily is gone. We must protect Almark at all costs and take her down." Carion shouted at Jet. "While he holds downtime, he is completely defenseless."

"Carion is correct. If we can finish what we started, we will all reset." Almark couldn't take his eyes off Lily.

Jet took a closer look at Glass. The energy was definitely not healthy. Her body had split in several places, unlike the cracks on his skin. This looked like another energy leaking out of her. It looked a lot like Ford's body. So he decided the Mag-Liv energy was destroying her soul. "So we have a plan, Carion? I cannot keep up with that kind of speed."

"We can if we don't care about dying. So let's give this five hundred percent." Carion cringed slightly as he removed all of Lily's blood. Then he took everything else around him. Fixing his missing hand would have been nice. But he decided it would be a waste at this point. "It will be fine. You should go back to a time when Glass didn't affect your life."

Jet got what he was trying to say. "Then I guess I won't hold back at all." His skin cracked even more as he forced out his magic. The world slowed down to a crawl. In the blink of an eye, his left fist drove into Glass's armor on her chest.
