Things happened fast, Martin told Paul off for walking out from work but wasn’t too cross,
“It's not like you Paul, what’s up.”
Paul gave him a hug and said he was leaving on a roadie with some friends for a while.
“Probably for the best” Martin admitted.
Paul's parents surprised him. His mother cried and his dad gave them both a great hug.
“Our family has been here for four generations. About time one of us made a break.”
“I will only be gone for a few months at most, I just want to se what we can find” said Paul.
“Have you told my brother yet? Maybe you should take him too.” said his dad grinning.
“Dave don’t be so silly, he wants to go with his friends. Martin will put them all to sleep before even before they hit the highway with his boring drool” said Sasha (Paul's Mum).

They gave him the family camping gear to use, and Dave produced a small wadge of cash and his dad's rifle.
“It might come in handy, I had it serviced.”
The following day Martin presented Paul with an electronics tool kit on his final day.
“You have been a great worker and good friend. Don’t give up on the electronics, you have a knack for it.” he added proudly.
Amataya and Shige didn’t tell anyone from their families. Pips mechanic friend Jake had a look at the car for them. Shige swapped it with Kim for his scooter plus some of their pooled cash. They bought bits and pieces slowly down to the youth center where they kept the car. Tracy was as excited as any of them and kept fussing over their preparations. They were both impressed with the rifle as Paul loaded it into the car. The next day Amataya produced a beautifully carved club.
"With my family's Nefo Oti and your rifle no one is going to fuck with us.” she said grinning, flexing her well toned muscles as she swung the club.
Shige bought a gruntie stereo which he and Paul installed and before they knew it, they were ready. Amataya put on the theme song from Captain Fantastic and they were off, heading south. The sun was bright, they had a full day ahead of them and no real plans. Paul was more excited than he had been in a long time.
