Failure to Communicate 2

Toilet of The Fates! I had forgotten that they don’t have suspension bridges down here. I didn’t even really know what the bridge looked like from the side since I viewed it from above with the god globe. I tried to draw it from the top, but it just looked like a rectangle.

The evil-acting mortals that had been changed by the strange darkness were closing in. They were none too quick about it because they were also fighting with each other or causing random destruction to any good thing they came across along the way.

The mortals hadn’t gotten the message. Maybe this was why certain gods preferred to work with designated prophets. Some mortals were just better at interpreting symbolism than others.

I needed to think! Think! No no no, there was no time to think. If I couldn't enhance the clarity, I would enhance the volume. Time to go straight to Prophecy Magnus. This prophecy comes with intense feelings. The visuals are so strong that it can feel real. The biggest practical difference from Prophecy Minimus is that the prophet can’t possibly mistake it for his own imagination. Obviously, I was not so good at creating imagery, so I was going to go with feeling. Plagiarism and feeling.

Epictetus suddenly fell to his knees and cried out. “I see those who have been affected by the darkness!”

“Yea! Me too!” Said Decius. "They just came into visible range over on that hill.”

“I am so afraid of them!” Said Epictetus.

“Yea. We all are. You’d be crazy not to be.” Said Decius.

“They are going to eat us all!” Said Epictetus.

“Dude, I know. We should have run for it, but it’s too late now. You are killing the last of our morale so would you shut up? Oh, this is another vision.”

“Yes”, said Epictetus, who was now on the ground. Trying to swallow and recover himself. “Now that was a vision for sure. I’ve never experienced anything like that. In a vision, that is. Been experiencing it for the last few days in real life, though.”

“How do you know it’s not just the stress of the world ending? That could get to a person.” Asked Decius.

“No, this was a vision from a god! I’m sure of it.”

“Okay, so what did it mean?”

“I think…it meant…that the ones who have been exposed to the darkness are going to eat us.”

“Gods! Dammit!”
