Forest Camp.

The army men were preparing themselves for the hunt. They painted themselves in camo so they could hide better and they were wearing protective gear. It seems that they will use assault rifles to hunt the mutated animals.

Tana was still hiding near the camp and waiting for them to start moving again. He hid his bike with leaves and weeds he found on the ground and used mud on himself to hide his smell. He was really cautious about this because you never know what could happen in this new world.

"What do you think we will find in this forest?" A voice could be heard. It was the voice of one of the army men. It seems that he is nervous.

"Don't know. Considering that I have been camping here with a few friends just a few weeks before the awakening I can tell you that there isn't really many dangerous animals here. We will probably find a deer or something like that and send that to research." Another man replied, it seems that they were friends looking at how casually they were speaking.

"Ah,really..." The first man said and went silent. He didn't want to speak anymore because it was making him more nervous .

He was only 1.70 meters tall so he was the shortest and weakest amongst them in physical strength. But there is one thing that he is better than the others and that is mana! He is already at 70% completion of the basics. But...he was still a bit nervous.

The other man saw his face and said to him while taking out a cigarette. "Why are you worrying? You saw the power of mana yourself,didn't you? Also look at this." He pointed at the rifles "We have some of the strongest firepower here with us. I don't think a deer can overpower that." He finished and used a lighter to light the cigarette.

"Yeah you're right!" The man replied and went somewhere else.

While that was happening,Tana was using his mana to sense if there's something around him. He can use mana to sense only when he is completely calm so he can't be disturbed. The maximum range he can sense is 100 meters around him. 

Right now he is getting a few signals on his radar but those are all humans,the army men. There was one other signal on the border of the radar but it dissapeared as soon as Tana tried to use mana to see what it is.

"Alright! Found something!" Tana said quietly but really happy and went in the direction of the signal. After he moved 50 meters he stopped and sat in a meditative position so he can use the mana radar once again. This time he noticed that the signal was moving away from another signal. Tana deduced that it wasn't him that made the signal move but the other signal. The other signal was emitting a more powerful aura that even Tana could feel from 50 meters away from him.

Tana decided to stop here and go back but it was too late. The first signal vanished in thin air and the second signal noticed him and started going cautiously towards him.

Tana was freaking out when he saw this. Due to his freaking out the mana radar stopped working and the mana he was using dispersed in all directions. Tana didn't know this but he managed to trick the signal for a few seconds there because his body and the mana he was using were giving out the same fluctations.

Since the mutated animals were also new to using mana they didn't know how to control it or use it to sense around them.

Tana finally came back to the place he was hiding. After he came back he scrubbed all of the mud on himself and threw some rocks he found into the army camp. He wanted the army men to deal with this animal. He know that he doesn't have enough time to hide before the men arive.

He hid under some leaves with his bike and made a small opening to observe the mutated animal and the army men fight. He hoped to see the power of the new animals. Ever since the awakening of mana he was doing a lot of research and reading of fantasy books and novels. He wanted to make so many things in this new world and one of them is to tame a new animal that came.

Things like those were like hopeless dreams before the awakening but now they aren't at all! Tana thought and watched the fight that is going to start any moment now. He was waiting for the mutated animal to show itself.

He tried using the mana radar to see where it is and it worked! He found out it was only 20 meters west from him while the army men were just behind him. The mana radar didn't hold out much longer and the mana dispersed itself again. The mutated animal once again became confused and rushed towards the initial point where the mana started to come.

What the animal saw when it came was men in camo clothing and assault rifles. It didn't know what it was but it could sense danger like any other wild animal. The animal finally showed its appearence! Tana looked at the mutated animal that was infront of him. It looked like a dog,a 2 meter tall dog. Its front teeth were shining with a black light and its fur was some kind of combination of black with brown spots.

"Ah...It's just a mutated dog. I wonder what it killed then?" Tana thought dissapointed on the appearence of the dog. He was suprised a bit by the size of the dog but that was all. There were some much bigger dogs captured on pictures after the awakening. There have been pictures of dogs standing 4-5 meters tall! This isn't really suprising.

Tana then looked at the army men. There were some that were a bit scared looking at the appearence of the dog but most of them were calm and already preparing to shoot. The man that was nervous at first was now calm. It seems the talk he had before calmed him down.

"Prepare to fire!" The leader shouted and pointed his rifle at the mutated dog.

Tana looked forward to see what will happen now.

"Fire!" The leader shouted and the men started firing at the dog. The dog was startled at first but it ignored the bullets after it saw them. It seems that it's confident that it can hold out.

The leader saw this and immediately changed the strategy he came up with. If bullets can't hurt him we will try using mana attacks!

"Everyone change positions! The mana users go behind the shooters. We will try attacking the dog with mana attacks while using the shooters as an distraction!"  The leader gave out an order and the men that were shooting made a formation with the mana users behind them.

The dog saw this and knew that the men behind the people that were shooting him were important so he decided to get rid of them first! The dog started charging and came infront of some of the shooters.

"Aaahhh!!" A scream could be heard and shortly after the man died. As the other men that were close to him saw this they started running away and screaming.

"Fuck this! This isn't a dog this is a monster!" A man said while pointing his gun at the dog.

Bang...bang...bang... (A/N :I am really bad at making sound effects!)

The dog didn't even move! The bullets did almost no damage but there was one bullet that hit the dogs eyes and it hurt him!

"Huh? That's right! The eyes,shoot the eyes!" The man yelled and the others started shooting at the eyes. They were right it did some minor damage but that was all! The dog didn't even use its eyes after the mutation.

"Fuck! It's doing some damage but that's nothing for it ,it seems! Mana squad are you ready yet?" The leader said and pulled back a bit.

"10 more seconds!" The leader of the mana squad said. The leader of the mana squad was the short man that was nervous before the fight.

As he said that the dog continued killing its way towards the mana squad! In only 5 seconds it came close to the mana squad and some of the men in the mana squad have begun to be nervous! Their mana balls that they were casting were becoming more and more unstable.

"Don't lose focus! 5 more seconds!" The leader told them and they calmed down a bit.

The shooter squad was almost annihilated but they were still shooting relentlessly without stopping! Some of the shooters were running out of ammo so they pulled back a bit to safety. When the other shooters saw this they were getting angry and scared at the same time. If there is less men that means the dog will kill them!

"You little...!" A man said quietly while looking at the men retreating.

"Spells are prepared! Retreat and shoot!" The short man ordered and the mana squad followed the order.

The mana balls they were shooting were 30 centimeters in diameter so they were a lot smaller than Tana's mana balls. Tana saw this and noted that.

"Aaaaaahhh!" The men yelled and threw the mana balls the furthest they could and only three of the many balls hit the dog. A screen of dust appeared after the impact so they were cautious until they saw the dead body.

...

...

The screen of dust finally dissipated and you could see a silhouette of the dog. The dog was still standing with only a few bigger wounds on his body.

When the army men saw this they grew desperate and they started running away the fastest they could!

The dog saw this and he was enraged completely! He came here after following a scent that was giving out an aura only a bit weaker than himself and he was wounded this badly!

Tana saw this and started preparing a 1 meter big mana ball. The balls that hit the dog were around 20 centimeters big and did so much damage. But he didn't shoot the ball until the dog killed every army men. He was scared that the government would imprison him after seeing the usage of mana from him.

"Ahhhhhhhh!!" This was the last army man that was left alive now he can shoot.

"First aim. Second,start spinning. Third,shoot!" Tana thought as he changed the properties of the mana ball into a spinning mana ball. He shot the ball at the unaware dog and it hit him in the head.

The dog's head exploded in pieces after the impact and Tana was dumbfounded at the power of his mana ball. He clearly saw the ball ripping throught the skull thanks to its spinning properties.

"Wow! I did it!" Tana shouted and went to the dog's corpse. He read in some novels that monsters could have some kind of crystals inside their bodies that gave them such power...

...

After looking carefully he noticed that there isn't anything like that. It seems that some things can't be like in novels. He also wanted to take the fur and skin of the dog but they were damaged badly because of the bullets. He decided to only take a few bones and bury the dog's body somewhere.

The army men's bodies were also buried with the dog's body. He didn't want to leave any evidence.

After he finished with that he went to the place the mutated dog fought another monster. He wanted to see its corpse...

After walking a bit he came to find a dead bird. It didn't look like a normal bird because it was clearly bigger than the other birds he saw before. He also noticed some strange patterns on the birds body but they were damaged due to the battle with the dog.

"I wonder why didn't the bird fly away? The dog can't possibly fight in mid ai-" Tana stopped talking and he thought of something. What if the bird was protecting something? Children? Some treasure? 

Tana started climbing every tree in the vicinity of the bird's corpse. He first thought that it was pointless but after some hard looking he finally found something...

Here it is!! The third chapter! Good morning dear readers! Did you have a good sleep? I did! 

So...I woke up,didn't even eat anything and decided to write a new chapter for you guys. Why? Because I am out of food...
