In a small town in Europe.

In the town a 18-19 year old looking teenager was going home from school. He looked like a plain teenager. There are no interesting or unique features to his appearance. His hair is dark brown in color and his eyes are brown as well. He is about 1.75 meteres tall,which is the average height for teenagers in his town.

If you look closely you can see that he has something in his hand. It is a cellphone,he's playing games on his cellphone and walking home.

As he was playing games he didn't notice anything strange. Because he didn't care about anything. His surroundings have become quiet and the game he has been playing was lagging. He tried restarting the game but... he couldn't! He couldn't even move his hands!

"What the hell is happening!?" He wanted to yell out loud. But he couldn't. He couldn't do anything. It was like he was wrapped by some mysterious force. He struggled and struggled but he couldn't move even a milimeter.

He finally snapped and started panicking. He was panicking for what seemed to be about 3 hours. Like any other reasonable person he tried to calm himself down and think about what is happening.

He only managed to calm himself after 3 more hours passed. He didn't notice that he wasn't getting thirsty or hungry at all.

He thought for a moment and finally came to a conclusion on what is happening to him. He couldn't see other people around him because he is in a pretty desolate street but he noticed that there is a leaf in mid air not moving at all. The conclusion...Time has probably 'stopped'.

He couldn't believe his eyes. He couldn't really move his sight so he stared at the view of the leaf for 10 minutes before thinking :

"What the fuck is going on!? Is there anyone who can explain this to me?" He was almost broken mentally until he heard someone say something.

"Why should I explain? You guessed it right yourself." A calming voice was speaking. Tana (The boy's name) tried to move even though he knew he couldn't. He wanted to know from where the voice came and how did it know what he was thinking.

"Me? No one important. Atleast in my world. I am here as a...uhh...I forgot the word" The voice replied as it seemed to read Tana's mind. Tana was beggining to feel confused and angry at the same time. What is with this guy... He forgot the word? Well... Not like I need to know I read enough novels so I think I know what word he wanted to use, a messenger,right?

"So that was the word! You sure? Sound weird to me." This guy is retarded. Thought Tana and tried to speak with him.

"First,I am not retarded I just didn't take my time to learn your language fully. Second,don't speak to me like that, I think you noticed that I am reading your mind so don't even try. Third,I forgot what third was.. Oh right! Yes, I am a messenger from a higher realm! Just kidding I am from the same realm as you..."

...

...

"What?" The voice was suprised at the silence. He didn't believe there wouldn't be any reply.

"Nothing." Tana replied thinking. Just moments ago he was going crazy and now he is being made fun of.

"Was that not funny? Well,whatever. A lowly human like you can't even understand our humour!" The voice said proudly and continued " I came here as a messenger,yes. My mission is to teach humans how to adapt to a special energy that is being born on Earth and other planets in this Solar system." The voice finished speaking.

"Special energy? What's with this fantasy setting?" Tana replied after hearing what the voice said. He also noticed that the voice sounded robotic and natural at the same time. Like it didn't come from outside. It was neither male or female. It seems it is talking into my head literally.

"What's so fantasy about it? Your whole society seems fantasy to me. I mean...what is that thing in your hands used for? A lamp of some sort? A magical screen artifact? Actually nevermind...I don't care,it doesn't even emit even the smallest bit of aura of origin."

"Aura of origin? This guy is talking more and more weirdly. Just say what do you what and get it over with!" Tana didn't like to wait.

"Huh? Ungrateful...I hate doing these kinds of jobs the most too you know! I am just going to use my power and reform your body so it doesn't collapse when the energy awakens fully. The other guys are doing similar things like me it seems." The voice fell and Tana could feel something touching his back.

A cold but refreshing feeling was entering Tana's body at first but later it became violent and painful. Tana wanted to grit his teeth but he couldn't even move one finger. He screamed internally until it finally ended...

"The job's done. Now I can go home and have some fun." The voice said as it left something infront of Tana.

"What's this?" Tana stabilized his mind and asked hurriedly before the voice went away.

"A tutorial book of some sort,I don't know never read it. It has everything you need to know about the special energy awakening in you Solar system and things like those. Also,you should know this. Don't try anything before the energy fully awakens. I don't like when someone whose body I reformed dies in a stupid way."

Tana's mind went blank after he heard the last sentence...Don't do anything? Is there something I can do? Maybe there is something about that in this book?

The person whose voice was heard looked at Tana with an irritated face and repeated :

" I just said don't try it you dumbass! If you try it I am going to return you to your mother's...sorry I went overboard."

Tana was dumbfounded and stood there silently as time started running again. The voice went away and Tana just stood there silently and tried to think what just happened. The person who reformed his body yelled at him...This is a first,actually everything that just happened is a first but wow!

"What now?" Tana said out loud as he was putting his cellphone away and picking up the book the voice left.

"I can't believe this is happening but whatever...It did happen though." Tana walked home and entered his room.

He is living in a small apartment with two bedrooms,one bathroom,kitchen and a living room. He also had a roommate but he moved out when his parents rented him his own apartment. He is using the other room as an office of some sort for now. He is getting enough money from his parents to live in the apartment by himself anyways.

He entered his room booted up his computer and started reading the book while the computer was booting up. The book was named [The First Steps(Translated version)]

He opened the book and started reading. On the first page there was a picture of the human body and some things noted below. It said :

" The human body is one of the many bodies that can hold 'Mana' as an usable resource."

"So they decided to call it mana in our world because of our language differences it seems. I wonder why did they call it mana though? Is it becuase it is the most popular name for special types of fantasy energy in our world?" Tana said as he started reading the other pages.

The following pages were on how to control mana,how to change the properties of mana and how to refine your body with mana. There were other unecesarry things there too but Tana read them and remembered all of it with just one read. He thought that it was weird.

How can a human so easily remember a whole book after only one read? He didn't even bother trying to remember and he still remembered. It must be something special about this book! He thought.

He put down the book and went on the internet to see if what just happened has happened somewhere else. Just as he was going to do that his cellphone ringed. He looked at who is calling to see that it was his mother.

He answered.

"Hello?"

"Tana,my son! Are you alright? I was just stopped by some suspicious person who told me some weird stuff. I need your help! Can you call your dad I can't reach him." His mother's voice was scared. It was obivous what happened so Tana tried to calm his mother down.

"Mom,please calm down that wasn't anything important just continue living your life like you did until now. The same thing happened to me." He said easily.

"What do you mean the same thing happened to you? Does that mean those people are after our family? Tana immediately call your father!" Tana's mother just grew more worried...

"I fucked up..." He thought and replied. " Alright,alright I'll call him." and he hung up.

"Now what? I better call dad he wouldn't be startled like mom was and he could explain it to her better I think." He thought out loud and called his dad and told him to explain everything to his mom.

His dad replied : "No problem son I understand what happened clearly the person who reformed my body told me everything."

"Good...Goodbye then dad." Tana hung up after that.

Tana looked at the window he opened up on the computer and typed in 'unusual things happening to people' . He didn't expect much but when he pressed enter a whole lot of things appeared and he clicked the first link.

A forum website opened up and the title of it is [ Unusual Things Happening right now! Somebody help!]

There were alot of people saying things and explaining their experiences. It seems that this has really happened in the whole world. Tana closed the window and turned off his computer and went to sleep.

He didn't hope that the world would go back to normal as most people would when he wakes up. He hoped that the world would always stay like this.

With that 1 month has passed since the strange phenomena that the government has called "The awakening".

The special energy called mana has awakened around 95%. People could use mana since it was on 90% but most of them didn't dare to do that because of the warning of the people that 'reformed' their bodies.

Tana wasn't one of them. Just yesterday did Tana decide to start absorbing mana and trying to use it. It seems that the mana in Europe and Asia awakened already completely so people can use it freely now.

Tana tried to make a mana ball in his hand after absorbing mana all day yesterday. He didn't manage to do that but he did manage to feel the mana around him. That is a great success.

It wasn't until his 10th try that he managed to absorb the mana that he could feel on his first try. So he was quite dissapointed because he thought he was somekind of genius in mana absorbtion and things like those.

After one whole night of absorbing mana he could feel his body becoming heavier. In the book that he got it was said that when you feel your body become heavy you should stop absorbing because you are nearing the limit of you body.

He did as the book said and stopped absorbing the mana at once.

He now tried to do the mana ball thing described in the book.

1st try...The mana didn't even move inside his body. It was the same for the first 5 times.

on the 6th time he managed to move a bit of mana from his abdomen,where the mana gathers, to his left palm. The mana moved very slowly and needed around 5 minutes to get to the palm.

After it came to the palm Tana's mind wavered and the mana dispersed in thin air. He was becoming a bit tense knowing that he made such mistake.

On his 7th try he finally managed to get the mana outside his body but he couldn't form it in a ball shape. His 8th time was the same but a bit faster.

Finally on his 13th time he managed to form a small ball that took up atleast 1 cubic centimeter of space. He was delighted as he noticed that he finally made it!

"Yes!" He yelled out loud with happines. He didn't care if his neighbors heard him he was truly happy.
