The War [2]

The abused Earth and Sky shook violently as the two colossal forces clashed against each other. On one side, Xia Fugui faced off against Xia Longwei, the father against the son in a battle that had been written in fate. The Dragon Generals stood firm against the Sect Masters, their powers crackling in the air like a storm ready to break. Meanwhile, the Imperial Army collided with the Revolutionary Force, steel meeting steel, and cries of war echoing across the battlefield.

“Let’s see, where the hell are you!” Ling Xuan muttered to himself, his eyes sweeping over the chaos below, searching for his targets. The battlefield was a swirling mass of bodies and energy, the ground scarred with deep craters and the air thick with smoke and ash. Despite the chaos, Ling Xuan’s gaze remained sharp, focused and calculating.

The numerical odds were against the Dragon Generals. The Sect Masters outnumbered them, each one a formidable warrior in their own right. This numerical disadvantage meant that each Dragon General would need to take on either two Sect Masters at once or focus on a particularly powerful one. It was a daunting task, but one that required no hesitation.

Li Zhongu was quick to devise a strategy to turn the tide in their favour. Lei Tei was assigned to confront the Divine Sun Sect Master. Shi Ma was set to face the Demon of The Thousand Faces. Li Zhongu himself would take on the Master of Merchants and the Emerald Herald.

As for Ling Feng and Ling Xuan? Their roles were clear. Ling Feng would deal with the Pill King and the Old Beggar.Ling Xuan’s task was to handle three of the more moderate sects: the Silver Silence Sect, the Hunter’s Bow Sect, and the Regal Peacock Sect.

“Well, at least I’ll be able to construct more meridians using their Qi,” Ling Xuan thought to himself, his expression indifferent as he scanned the sky. His eyes locked onto a figure darting through the air, moving with a flamboyant grace and delivering kicks that sent gusts of wind scattering debris below.

“Yup, that’s the Regal Peacock Sect Master,” Ling Xuan said with a slight smirk. Without another thought, he launched himself towards the target, his body cutting through the air like an arrow shot from a bow.

BANG!

Ling Xuan’s first blow connected before the Sect Master even realised he was there. A devastating punch sent the unsuspecting Sect Master hurtling downwards, crashing into the ground with a force that shook the earth.

BOOM!

The impact sent shockwaves through the battlefield, soldiers nearby caught in the blast were reduced to nothing but smears of blood and gore, smushed into paste under the sheer force of the collision. Dust and rubble filled the air, momentarily obscuring the view, but Ling Xuan could sense his target still alive, still fighting.

“Who dares!” the Regal Peacock Sect Master roared, his voice booming with rage as he struggled to his feet. His robes, once pristine, were now tattered and stained with blood. The peacock emblem, a symbol of his sect’s pride, was marred with dirt and sweat. His eyes blazed with fury as he scanned for his attacker.

“Me,” Ling Xuan replied coldly, his voice cutting through the noise like a blade. He didn’t wait for a response; instead, he moved with blinding speed, closing the distance in the blink of an eye.

Dual Star Barrage!

Ling Xuan’s fists became a blur as he unleashed his technique. The air rippled, distorted by the sheer force of his punches. His fists rained down upon the Sect Master like falling stars, each strike a miniature explosion that tore through flesh and bone. Blood sprayed into the air, splattering the ground as parts of the Sect Master’s body exploded upon impact, each punch landing with a sickening crunch.

The Sect Master tried to retaliate, but Ling Xuan’s assault was relentless, his movements precise and unyielding. Every strike was calculated, aiming for weak points, tearing through defences.

“Aghhhh!” The Sect Master roared in agony. As a Grandmaster whose abilities had recently been amplified, the Sect Master should have been powerful enough to rival Ling Xuan, right?

Well, that was the thing. He was indeed capable of doing that, but Ling Xuan simply exceeded the Grandmaster.

Ling Xuan's attacks rained down relentlessly, each strike carrying the weight of his cultivation. The Sect Master struggled to defend himself, but it was clear he was being overwhelmed. Amid the onslaught, Ling Xuan suddenly felt a presence approaching him at high speeds.

“Who?” Ling Xuan thought, using the ambient Qi to sense his surroundings. To his shock, two individuals were flying toward him—not under their own power, but as if they had been thrown. Ling Xuan's eyes narrowed as he recognized the incoming figures: the other two Sect Masters he had been assigned to deal with!

“Oi, catch these!” A voice resounded in Ling Xuan’s head. Shi Ma. Of course.

“Thanks!” Ling Xuan replied, a smirk tugging at his lips. He braced himself as the two Sect Masters crashed into the ground beside him.

BOOM!

Dust and debris flew everywhere, momentarily obscuring the battlefield. Ling Xuan stood amidst the chaos, his eyes glowing with a fierce light.

“Greetings, gentlemen!” Ling Xuan called out with a grin, his Qi swirling around him like a tempest, distorting the space around him.

The Sect Master of the Hunter’s Bow groaned, trying to lift himself from the ground, his vision swimming with darkness. “Who…who are you?” he managed to gasp out, barely able to form the words.

Hearing this Ling Xuan felt a feeling of happiness, he didn’t know why but he ignored both it and the question and established the domain.
