"Say that again.."
"From now on, you'll be my disciple"
"...are you messing with me?" I ask
"Nope" he replied.
My mind began to process the situation. He, will become my teacher? I don't even know who he is-
'Oh... I don't know who he is-'
"I am Quill Lexar, one of the four masters of the forbidden gate" he replied
"..."
"..."
"You read my mind, didn't you?"
"Yes, i, did"
"Can you not do that?"
"I don't see why i have to"
"Because it makes me feel uncomfortable"
"..."
"..."
"Anyway enough with the chit chatting" he replied. "Now, Will You be my disciple?" He asked.
I look at him, observing his appearence as an illman who was once in ragged clothes now wearing a suit and tie.
To be able to do that so easily, why choose me as a disciple? Sure i might be a genius at combat but, to be approved by a man that can do all this..
"Why me?" I asked. "Why did you pick me of all people?".
He smirked as he leaned forward. "It's because you were able to use it" he replied.
"Use what?"

"The eye"
The eye...? The only thing that makes sense is if he is talking about the Combatan's eye.
"Are you talking about the Combatan's eye? There are many people who could use it though..."
"Yes, but you were the first person who was able to reach the first stage in a long time" he said as he fly towards me, legs crossed.
"The first stage?" i said, asking for an answer on on this so called "first stage".
Never in my life, have i ever Heard of the Combatan's eye having "stages". Since abilities that have "stages" can only be used by beings of higher superiority.
"The first stage is the first stage of evolution of the Combatan's eye. "Madness"". He replied.
Me knowing that there is no such thing as "Madness stage" of the eye, i replied instantly, showing what i once thought was my superior knowledge over him.
"there is no such thing as "Madness stage" in the eye" i said while twisting to of my fingers in both hands to show a sign of ridiculousness of the name.
"Hm... Really now?" The old man said as he stroke his long white beard. His tone showed some signs of rethinking.
"Well..." The old man lifted his hands with open Palms. "How about this then" he let his hands fall down towards my direction.
At the same time, spikes of drill shaped wind dashed towards me with high speed.
The spikes of wind were right infront of my eye, it stopped. Time began to feel slower as i pay my attention to the speeding spike of wind. My body began to move as fast as it could unconciously.
The time i loved my body away from the fire range of the spike wind, it began to speed up again, damaging the wal behind me.
I immediately faced towards teh old man "WHAT WAS THAT FOR!?" i shouted.
He opened his hands and created a mirror.
"For this..." He replied.
I didn't know if the mirror was fake or not, but when i looked towards it, i could see my eye pupils that were once black and now turned red.
"The eyes that holds the colour of madness, you now have it" teh old man said as he floates beside me.
"How have i never Heard of this before" i asked him. If i could do it this easily, then logically the soldier should also be able to do it.
"Because you were the first person who was able to activate it in 500 years"
'500 years, huh... Wait-'
"500 years?!" I shouted.
"531 years to be exactly" he replied calmly.
"Wait, wait, wait... 500 years? I activated a 500 year old eye?"
"Yes"
"..."
'doesn't it tecnically mean it's an ancient skill?' i ask myself.
"Tecnically, yes"
I look at him, knowing he just read my mind.
"You know this is my private thought, right?" I ask him. Trying to make him stop reading my mind.
"You know this my dream scape, right?" He replied.
"I didn't even want to come here"
"But you did"
With that, i lost the argument and pouted over my loss with my arms crossed.
'sly bastard'
"So then, have you decided?" He asked. "Of weather you'll be my disciple?"
I completely forgot about that.
Thought before saying anything, i need to ask one more question.
"If i did become your disciple, what are you willing to give me?" I asked. Teh question was quite simple and yet hard. Giving someone something that you have worked hard for is something no creature would do, this man is no exception. That's how life is.
The man looked me dead in the and said "everything"
