Tales of WasteLand
In a planet called Aridorn

In a planet called Aridorn

The wind from the wasteland although hot and blazing, it was refreshing for me. The sand that changed it's shape everytime i step on it. The even waste land that stretched through the horizon, it was beautiful.

"Cade hurry! The mothership is back!" Amy shouted in excitement. Her hair that were coloured blood red waved as the wind surrounded her while she was running

The mothership, along with the other warships returned to turn in war prisoners and for repair from the damage caused from what felt like a never ending war.

The Nexus war, the war that started even before i was born. The war between countless planets against the Martians. It was a sadistic war where the weak dies while the strong survives.

The planet i live on, Aridorn is a place that is rich in nutrients and spices. Even if it's just a waste land, my people lived happily because of the planet's richness in spices and nutrients. The Walls that protected us from the creature's of the waste land stood up for a decades which Made us feel save.

"Come get your vegies!"

"A 50% discount of seeds this week!"

"Meat! come get your meat!"

The streets were filled with merchants that were in every corner of the street, selling foods and seeds for the people of Aridorn.

"Looks like the streets are filled with customers again" Amy said while looking around the streets.

"Ofcourse it's filled. without the supllies that the merchants gives us, we would starved to death"

She looked at me while frowning, "can you NOT make something beautiful into something sadistic for once?"

"I was just stating the fact" i said while continuing to walk.

"But still shouldn't try to appreciate the things in life"

"The only thing that's worth appreciating in this life is our own. We're no different than ants that try to survive". She looked away from me as if she was accepting it.

It was reality, sooner or later she will have to accept that.

"Are you going to train again" she asked. I stopped walking "yea..." I answered softly.

"You've been training yourself nonstop. Why not take a rest?"

I walked to her and patted her shoulder "you know i can't do that. I need to train so i can protect us, protect our lanet, our Aridorn" i said with a soft smile.

"Okay" she smiled. It doesn't take a psychic to know that she's still hesitating.

My training isn't as light as anyone thinks it is. We the Aridorn, have a special ancestrial technique that only we can use. The technique is called combatant's eye. It allows the user to be able to predict the opponent's next move.

The thing i use for training is the robotic fighting machines i always fight. I could predict the movements of the strike, but it's still hard for me to use it to fight.

In other hands, i also learn swordsmanship. In this world, there are two main weapons that are mainly used, that is swords and guns. I already learnt the gun when i was younger, but i still haven't gotten good at swordsmanship yet.

"Well, well, well...if it isn't Cade".

"Uncle John" i shouted in excitement. He was my uncle and my teacher both in swordsmanship and in guns.

"Why are you here, uncle?"

"Why wouldn't i want to see the now renowned 10 year old Child Prodigy?" Uncle said while smilling. As people see me training everyday, they also caught a glimpse of what they call 'tallent' in me. And before i knew it, i was called 'the child prodigy'. I don't really agree to it though.

"You know they're just over reacting. I don't have that kind of talent"

"Oh really? The uh....."

*Clash*

Our swords clashed together as i was trying to deflect his attack.

"Let's see wheather you actually have the talent or not" he said while giving me a slight grin.

I dashed back to give some space for us. We bagan walking around on the edge of the training ground while looking at eachother. Without a moment of hesitation i activated my combatant's eye and began preparing my stance. Uncle's eyes began to glow a bright yellow, indicating that he is also using his combatant's eye.

As i dashed to him i gave my sword a swing, aiming for his kidney. In a split second, he blocks my attack by oushing it a little to the left. I pulled back my sword to block the attack that he is going to give me. In teh last second, he stopped back and went for a stab instead. I grabbed the hand he was using to hold his sword on the wrist, and ended it with my sword touching his neck.

"looks like the rumors weren't exagerating after all" he said with him still looking at the knife in his neck.

"*Pant* i win.." i said while trying to catch my breath. That battle caught me off guard. I need to train more.

"You still haven't fully mastered your eye, am i correct?"

".....yea"

"Don't worry about it, you're still young. It's a miracle that you even know how to use it at that age"

"It's still isn't enough"

He looked at me to what looked like a worried face "don't be too hard to yourself" he said while he was leaving the training ground.

The Nexus war won't end anytime soon, that's why i keep training, for my safety, for our safety.

"I'll train a bit more"
