A Spawn flew like sparks of flame amidst the thick fog of bees, bolting around the air as though being tossed around. Atop its thorax was a straight scar, and its abdomen had two stripes instead of the usual one.
BZZ!
He cut through the air like a needle, flying around a giant, one foot long bee in circles. Opening his sharp, bulky mandibles, Line aimed at the bee's neck.
Bzz…
With a silent humm, Line passed through the bee, blue blood splashing all over his body as he held the head of the hateful giant bee. The two glared at each other, before Line let go of the disgusting thing in his mandibles and looked down.
Seeing the cometting body of the giant bee, Line swan dived and caught the loot on its back, avoiding the madly swinging, sharp legs of the decapitated body.
Chrr…
Opening his mandibles and mouth, Line slurped up the bloody juice of the bee for a few moments, relishing in its meaty and salty taste before throwing it away with a jolt.
Gaze locking on another prey, Line’s body flashed as he disappeared, approaching another bee like a bullet.
BUZZ…
Numerous bees were watching Line's butchery, and they all learned to avoid the cruel Spawn. But how could that be? Line was a relentless reaper and like a magnet, he crashed with another bee who fell victim to his sharp mandibles and shrewd taste.
The bees couldn't even try and gang up on him, he was too nimble and erratic like a dancing firefly amidst ten bonfires.
Hearing his shout, the disharmonious buzzing that filled the air gained a momentary harmony.
BZZ! BZZ!!!
As though being fed firewood, the Spawn's energy reached another high after reaching the bottom of their graves.
The pitiful army of Spawns answered to Line, and despite being outmatched, they readily attacked the army of giant bees.
They bit and trashed about, trying to imitate their leader to no avail. Line was no ordinary Spawn, he was more than a year old and owns countless battle trophies to his name.
Apart from having been modified to have the same arsenal as the modern Spawns, Line possessed the thick blood of the original three-legged Spawns. His unique ability to grow stronger through devouring remained extremely potent, unlike the newer generations of Spawns!

After sucking on its blood, Line tossed it away.
CHA—BZZ!!!
Watching their leader, the hearts of the Spawns lit hotter than flames! Burning their energy, the blue stripes on their abdomens glowed, the telltale sign that their lifespan was being scrapped.
The sacrifice wasn’t in vain, the Spawns killed two or three bees during their berserk before they all ran out of fuel when a few seconds had passed.
With the bees all standing cautiously a few feet away, Line felt a flower blooming in his hardened heart.
Line nodded in satisfaction, watching as nearly all of his army fell to the ground as corpses. The bees watched this too, and they flew around like headless chicken at the sight. He had no idea of their plot, but he barely cared.
The surviving few dozen Spawns were in a world of spinning vortexes, when a harsh voice pushed their fleeting life back to their bodies!
Line shouted, the stripes on his body glowing brightly. At this, the bees finally acted and charged in unison toward Line.
On the other hand, Line wasn’t planning to be a scarecrow. A gentle glow like the moonlight spread out with Line at the epicenter, and the charging bees slowed down like being chilled.
The bees from far away staggered like stagnant water growing viscous, while the bees that had neared Line felt too dizzy to even see.
On the other hand, the remaining Spawns remained sober as they tore their limbs apart, eating them while stuffing their bodies into Line's mouth. Chomping down on the last remaining Spawn, Line pushed more energy into his ability and scouted the giant chessboard.
He was a lone pawn, and the enemy pieces were in the millions. His stomach was stuffed, but empty, and soon he would be butchered after a death dance.
Still, Line felt no weight in his head with his body floating like a gust of wind. When he came to this territory, the war had reduced the Spawn army to a mere hundreds of thousands, and just now, Line fought the torrent of bees with only a few thousand Spawns by his side.
Flexing his muscles and steeling his gaze, Line dove into death's embrace when he saw an inconspicuous trail of insects.
All of a sudden, he was thrown to a blank canvas like a drop of paint, his body left with no choice but to follow its instincts.
Line opened his mandibles, his body glowing dimmer with the slowed bees returning to their original states, albeit dazed.
CHSSzz!
The Motherbugs hissed at Line, but they remained still as Line crashed into one of them, reducing the Motherbug beneath him into a splat of meat and blood.
Uncaring about the soil that mixed with the blood and meat, Line ate like a starving dog and the Motherbug remains disappeared within seconds.
BZZ!
The bees thundered in the air, raining toward Line like bolts of lightning. Paying them not one glance, Line dove toward two more Motherbugs and devoured their flesh before the bees could reach him.
SHHK!
A bee loomed behind Line, its six bladed legs opened to embrace him. Line abruptly jumped, reaching another Motherbug before the bee managed to close her sharp hug.
CHA!
With each Motherbug he swallowed, Line's abdomen grew bigger and bloated, and his speed worsened. But Line found an anomaly and a blessing in his predicament.
His exoskeleton had morphed to be tougher, and his skin wasn't as fragile like a thin layer of plastic. Instead, when the bees bit him and hugged him with their bladed legs while trying to sting him, Line found himself victorious over those giant, hairy bugs!
The twin stripes on Line's abdomen grew brighter with each Motherbug he ate, and despite the bees also targeting the Motherbugs, Line was still able to eat a hundred of them. His abdomen bloated up to twice its original size, and Line found himself barely able to fly.
The bees were now keeping their distance. Line was a sitting duck, but the bees could only itch on killing him yet were unable to do so. With his strengthened mental energy, the bees were rendered unconscious if they flew near him.
Some bees managed to stay groggily awake after a murder attempt, but Line easily took care of those bees.
With the stalemate, the bees chose to retreat first, figuring that if they trapped Line long enough, the latter would starve.
Suddenly, Line felt his breathing running rapidly, and the overwhelming pressure made him immobile. His body twitched as though currents of electricity ran through him, making his abdomen pulse in waves in the aftermath.
Feeling both pleasure, honor, reverence, and fear, Line bathed in the presence of his king.
