BAM!
The door burst open, several people pouring in. They all held cold weapons, despite having firearms on the side of their hips. Ironically, these “cold weapons” were their weapons against their “alien” foes, while the firearms were used for other humans.
“All clear. The lobby is free of infestation, but be on guard. We still don't know if this is the Mad Intrusion, or the Swarm,” Jason gave out commands.
“We’ll split up for now, half of us will go check the basement while the remaining half will guard the lobby. If something happens, immediately call for backup, understand?”
“Understood.”
Ten minutes passed by like a caterpillar, and Jason and four other agents finally arose from the basement. They all had solemn stares and frowns, their feet and pants covered in blue stains.
“It's the Swarm.”
Hearing Jason's report, the five agents guarding the lobby cursed under their breaths.
“Shut it, a mission is a mission. Let's head up and kill these fuckers,” Jason scowled, turning around and heading for the stairs. He didn't wait for the others, he knew they had to follow him anyway.
As the group of ten reached the second floor of the building, their frowns grew deeper.
The hallways were eerily clean, not a spot of blood could be seen, but the stench of it was everywhere.
“Split into two and start examining the rooms,” Jason said and they all went on the move. Without hesitation, Jason kicked a door open and readied his spear.
“Fucking… disgusting,” Jason cursed, seeing three human bodies being feasted on by countless Swarmlings. Around them were bloated Motherbugs, constantly laying eggs.
“The last time I saw those Motherbugs, they were only an inch big. Now, they're three times that,” Jason cursed.
“Are you all ready? Be careful and don't let a single bug land on your skin. If they do, your life is automatically forfeit,” Jason declared in a solemn tone, just in time for the Swarmlings and Motherbug's to notice their presence.
Jason was about to rush forward, when a shrill scream echoed out, alerting the entire building suspected to be filled with hundreds of millions of the Swarm.
“Shit… why the fuck did a squeaky bitch join the mission?!”
If Jason saw the other room, he would've turned pale in disgust as well.
The floor was squirming about, a sea of Bloodworms flooding the tiles. Dozens of corpses were piled up in the room, and the agents counted at least seven of them. Their bodies mutilated, their skin having been devoured, and their flesh and organs were spilling into the ocean of worms.
That wasn't all, in the middle of the room, a man was covered in Spawns. The Spawns were about 3 inches, and the ring on their abdomens glowed a dim blue. Each time the blue glow pulsed, the man would twitch, trying to raise its hand holding a mix of human intestines and Bloodworms to its mouth.
“Quick,” an agent stuttered out, gagging from the sight. Jason could only curse his “bad luck” at being assigned with “newbies.”
“Kill that guy, give him mercy,” the agents agreed to their colleague’s weak mumbling, and all five of them raised their weapons.
Obviously, the Swarm was already aware of their presence, and the man jerked his head to stare at the five agents.

“Please die,” were the last words uttered before a fight ensued.
The agents would end up winning, and as they left the room, they'd see their leader, Jason, fending off a horde of Spawns. The Spawns were endless, and they kept on coming down from the flight of stairs.

Three months passed like a snowflake melting on the pavement. Like a snake shedding its skin, the world ushered in a new era, an era of chaos and death.
The bleak morning was devoid of clouds and the sun was lifelessly shining. People could barely feel its heat, pushing them further into despair.
Three continents had gone down, taken over by new life. Amidst the turmoil, only one continent kept its “peace,” but even they were having troubles of their own.
“What happened?” Alex asked Alexandra, his eyes closed shut. He was sitting quietly on his chair at the table, but Alexandra couldn't help but gulp at the sight of her brother.
‘He’s changed a lot,’ Alexdra thought. Three months ago, her brother began to change. He became taller, healthier, stronger… It was like Alex underwent divine enlightenment!
‘The plan is gonna be thwarted at this rate,’ Alexandra closed her eyes as well, hiding the hostility inside them.
“Sir, the United Government refuses to work with the organization,” Alexandra began her report.
“Ex-Agent Rex is suspected to have helped C-101, C-102, and C-105 in conquering all the continents besides ours,” Alexandra paused for a bit, watching for any change in Alex's expression.
There was none, as she expected.
“The three Anomalies dominating the West Continent as of now are C-106 to C-108. The newly discovered C-108, Mad Intrusion, is the weakest out of the three while the Lava Ants and the Swarm are still working together.”
Alexandra smiled when she saw Alex's tranquil face slightly frown, but that was all she got. With a silent sigh, she resumed her report.
“The Moon Agents and Moonlight Agents are currently spread thin. They are awaiting your next command,” Alexandra finished, finally getting Alex to open his eyes.
Alex's sky-blue eyes pierced Alexandra's brown eyes, with the latter doing everything not to flinch.
“I see,” Alex curtly nodded before closing his eyes once more. He was now alone in his thoughts, and knowing that, Alexandra took the initiative to leave.
‘Charles was found dead, most definitely killed by Rex. Bennett and Ven were gravely injured, but they were able to flee. After arriving at the headquarters, they both claimed that Rex ambushed them.’
After being attacked, Bennett retired as a Moonlight agent and chose to live the rest of his life relaxing in a cozy house. He died young and early, a week after retiring at the age of 19. His young death was mostly because of his overuse of the anomaly weapons.
On the other hand, Ven swore vengeance on Rex. Unfortunately, he was bound to fail because he died even earlier than Bennett did. He died mysteriously the day after they arrived at the headquarters.
‘I'm certain that Bennett retired because of Ven’s death,’ Alex sighed in regret.
The deaths of the original Moonlight Agents was bittersweet. With Alex becoming the official Chief, the organization united as one. The first thing Alex did was recycle the idea of “Moonlight Agents.”
Now, the organization had Moon Agents, the pillars of the organization and the “elites of the elites.” Below them were Moonlight Agents, who're simply all the agents who can wield anomaly weapons.
‘Banning all agents who aren't a Moonlight or a Moon single handedly saved the Western Continent,’ Alex let out a long sigh, distorting the space around him in the process.
‘The Swarm's king, Helzar, grows stronger each time he fights and kills agents. If the organization didn't bar incompetent agents from fighting the Swarm, then they would've conquered the Western Continent.’
Alex frowned all of a sudden, a cold, whirlwind of wrath silently dancing inside his head.
‘I wonder if Rex is helping the Swarm too.’
Taking in a deep breath, Alex reigned in on his rage. In the end, he managed to cast aside the boiling emotions he had.
‘Rex is destroying humanity for a single person. Jimmuel is… I don't even know where Jimmuel is,’ Alex sighed, standing up and tapping the table. Instantly, the table crumbled into nothing, literal nothingness.
‘I tried telling him that Jimmuel's body is missing, but he didn't listen. And now that manchild is plunging humanity into extinction.’
Alex remembered the former Chief. The former Chief always talked about keeping the Colony Type Anomalies in captivity, and Alex always wondered why the former Chief didn't just kill the Colony Type Anomalies.
“It'll trigger the world's end, and we're not ready.”
Those were the former Chief's words.
‘Nevermind world's end, humans won't be around to even see what that nonsense is,’ Alex scoffed. Taking out the Promised Pen and Book, Alex wrote down a word.
[Disciple]
As though his vision had connected to someone else's, Alex focused on the sight before him. “He” was inside a room, and “he” was holding a spear.
‘Good, Jason is training diligently as he should.’
Among all the agents, Jason was the only one that Alex was invested in. Jason was a lucky man, proven by how he keeps surviving an encounter with the Swarm.
‘Jason is an anomaly himself. That's the theory, anyway,’ Alex closed his eyes. When he reopened them, he was back inside his office.
“Time to work,” he mumbled, sitting down at his desk and opening a folder with paperwork inside.

Meanwhile, Helzar was looking over the Motherbugs beside him. Three months was a short time, but he made use of every second.
Having grown to five inches in size, Helzar would say that his plan is going swimmingly, and that working with the Lava Ants was worth the trouble.
‘Humans are trying to control me again,’ Helzar cursed, remembering a red-haired man who tried to manipulate his soul. He succeeded in controlling the Lava Queen's soul, but Helzar was able to repel the man.
‘Thankfully, the Lava Queen is a stubborn gal. Removing the mind control was easy, but we had to fight in the process.’
Remembering their battle a month ago, Helzar smirked. The Swarm was well over billions now in numbers, and the Lava Ant colony had reached hundreds of millions in numbers. The Lava Ants have evolved again, and each one is capable of exploding like a bomb.
‘Too bad for them, the Spawn’s ability is controlling other living beings.’
