Chapter 199 - Linda's Own Path

Cultivation Laws were a simple term used to indicate a person who had developed their own understanding of Mana and Qi, and who could use their Affinity in a unique way. Everyone would, at some point, need to form their Laws. Hektor had his own Vermillion Law, which could be translated as his unique understanding of the Vermillion Bird’s Flames.

But Laws were very high-level insights. Normal people didn’t have such insights not even at the Hound Realm.

“The Heaven is taller than you think!” Linda boomed in anger after seeing the surprise that the Vermillion Tyrant had just let show on his face.

Hell’s Guardian

She used her strongest Spell right off the bat. There was no playing around with that man. Jacob had told her that even when he had killed him, Jacob had been one of the strongest people in existence. And it had still been very hard.

Translucent Fire materialized in mid-air, starting to distort the atmosphere around. Earth started surging and boiling underneath.

Something started to come out of the boiling pit of Earth.

Linda felt herself being drained of Mana even though she had reached the Oriole Realm.

This time, though, not one, but two Hell’s Guardians came out.

“A summoner,” the Vermillion Tyrant said with interest.

“What the—” Jacob was speechless.

Two otherworldly creatures found purchase on the translucent flames that materialized mid-air. They slowly climbed through the pit that Linda had opened in front of her.

Once they were done climbing, everyone could take a good look at the terrifying creatures Linda had just brought to life.

Two faceless monsters with more bones than humans, but the same humanoid constitution, stood in front of her. They wielded an ax and a shield each.

“Go and teach that man a lesson,” Linda ordered.

Every member of the Hell Devouring Sect was bursting with energy. Except the Elders, no one else had seen Linda new Spell.

The two monsters vanished into thin air.

“Incredible,” the Vermillion Tyrant raised his left arm, blocking the hit that would have taken off his entire head.

This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

He was pushed back a few feet. Even though Linda was at the Early Stage of the Oriole Realm, those two summons could probably take out multiple Intermediate Stage Oriole Realm monsters.

“I truly have to commend the Head of the Hell Devouring Sect.”

But the Vermillion Tyrant had seen many talents, and this was not even close to what he was capable of.

Hektor burst in a ball of vermillion flames.

Even if he had currently lowered his power level on purpose, he was still the Vermillion Tyrant.

Linda was very talented, as talent as other people he had found around in this new life were.

But he was a warrior.

He whipped out a Vermillion Flame Spear and stabbed the summon who had tried to hit him.

The summon exploded—no, the summon looked at Hektor Vermillion Flame Spear with his faceless head and then punched the Vermillion Tyrant after dropping the axe.

Hektor had not expected that.

The Vermillion Tyrant rubbed his nose. The Hell’s Guardians didn’t seem fazed at all by the Vermillion Bird’s Flames that were trying to ravage its body. Instead, the Hell’s Guardian took out the flames and tossed them away as if there were nothing.

“HA! That’s new!”

The Vermillion Tyrant felt exhilarated by the summon capabilities. He blocked another blow that came out of nowhere.

“Interesting! Let’s see,” the Vermillion Tyrant dodged another blow that seemingly came out of nowhere.

Another person would have already been dead three times over. However, the Vermillion Tyrant was, in the end, the Vermillion Tyrant.

The man blocked another blow with his bare hands and thrusted his arm into the core of one of those two bony guardians.

“A summon that purifies flames into thin air,” the Vermillion Tyrant raised an eyebrow.

Such summons could be incredibly strong against Undeads. It was a very rare to find property, usually belonging to some Eastern cultivators who were monks or similar type of warriors.

“This is truly incredible,” the Vermillion Tyrant commented once again. He had thought that the summons were only as good as the eye could tell, but he had been wrong. “They can purify Vermillion Flames at the Mantis realm. Insanity.”

Jacob was looking at him with wide eyes, surprised that the two summons were still staying. When Hektor tried to rip one apart only using the equivalent strength of his Peak Mantis Realm potential, he found that the summon’s body was not giving in.

“That’s interesting,” he raised his own strength up a notch.

“Jacob, these things are really hard,” the Vermillion Tyrant frowned while trying to take one apart. But not even his strength at the Early Stage of the Oriole Realm could do it.

“This is absolute insanity.”

In the meantime, Jacob was looking with wide eyes. The aura he was getting from those summons was otherworldly and cointained some seriously profound insights.

What the hell was Aunt Linda up to? When did she become this strong?

Hektor was clearly not going all out, but Jacob had the impression that even the Vermillion Tyrant would have had a tough time battling the two summons if he didn’t resort to use stronger Martial Techniques or Spells.

“All hail the Head of the Hell Devouring Sect!” the disciple started cheering. “All hail the Head of the Hell Devouring Sect!”

Jacob looked at the summons. He had never seen such a thing in his life. He thought that his aunt would continue and thread the same path that Jane Dobrowski had. But Aunt Linda had clearly went on her own path. Those two summons had nothing to do with Lava or the other Spells and Martial Techniques that Jacob had imparted her.
