There is a tale that is told from father to son at the villages near the Sholen Peaks, a mountain that is extremely high and is infested with monsters.
The Tale goes as follows:
***
Once upon a time, in a small village nestled at the foot of a treacherous mountain, there lived a young ranger named Alex. He was known for his kind heart, his unwavering loyalty, and his incredible skills as a warrior. Despite all his admirable traits, Alex had one flaw that he couldn't overcome - his fear of heights.
Alex's fear had always been a source of embarrassment for him. He knew that as a ranger, he was expected to be fearless and brave in the face of danger, but whenever he climbed higher than a few feet, his knees would turn to jelly, and his hands would shake uncontrollably.
One day, Alex's best friend, Lily, fell ill, and the only cure was a rare herb that grew at the top of the mountain. Alex knew that he had to climb the mountain to retrieve the herb, but his fear of heights made him hesitant.
Despite his fear, Alex decided to embark on the journey to save his friend. So he packed his backpack with supplies and started climbing the mountain. As he climbed higher, the air became thinner, and the wind grew stronger. Alex's fear of heights intensified, and he started to feel dizzy.
To distract himself from his fear, Alex started talking to himself. "You can do this, Alex," he said. "You're a ranger, and rangers are supposed to be fearless. You're doing this for Lily, and nothing will stop you from saving her."

Suddenly, Alex heard a loud growl. He turned around and saw a monster standing in front of him. The monster was enormous, with sharp teeth and claws. Alex knew that he had to fight the monster to continue his journey.
He took out his sword and shield and prepared for the fight. The monster charged at Alex, but he dodged its attack and struck it with his sword. The monster roared in pain and attacked again. Alex blocked the attack with his shield and struck the monster again.
The fight continued for several minutes, and Alex was getting tired. He knew that he had to end the fight soon. Alex waited for the monster to attack again and struck it with all his might. The monster fell to the ground, defeated. Alex caught his breath and continued his climb to the top of the mountain.
When Alex reached the top, he found the rare herb and packed it in his backpack. He started his descent down the mountain, feeling proud of himself for overcoming his fear of heights and defeating the monster.
As he descended, Alex thought about Lily and how much she meant to him. He had always been secretly in love with her, but he had never told her how he felt. "Maybe now is the time," he thought to himself. "Maybe when I give her the herb, I'll finally tell her how I feel."
When Alex returned to the village, he gave the herb to Lily, who recovered quickly. The villagers praised Alex for his bravery, and Lily thanked him for saving her life. For a moment, Alex thought about confessing his love to her, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. He was too afraid of being rejected.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. Alex continued to protect his village from any danger that came their way, and Lily continued to be his closest friend. However, Alex's feelings for her never went away. He knew that he loved her, but he was too afraid to tell her.
Years passed, and Alex became known as the greatest ranger the village had ever seen. He had defeated countless monsters, saved countless lives, and become a hero to the people. However, he was still alone, and his love for Lily had never faded.

The very nature of how the tale is told impedes us to know if this is real or not, as we cant even tell if the mountain is part of the Sholen Peaks or not. But the tale teaches about how you must not let your fears hold you back from helping those you care about, and I find that really hearthwarming.
