I felt the darkness surround me and envisioned myself stepping out behind Faeanna while i swung my sword down diagonally to the left. I could feel the mana around me pulsate as i found myself slicing down towards her right wing, the sudden appearance going unnoticed by her as i managed to land my first strike.

She turned her head around and frowned at me before thrusting her elbow back and hitting me in the solar plexus.

"Guh." The impact sent me back a couple meters and to my knees, blood trickling out of my mouth as i focused my mana on my chest. [Heal] I healed my body again and stood up on shaky legs, looking at her wing to confirm any damage.

"..." She had a small gash along the base of her wing and it started to bleed slowly as she started to turn around and face me. Her free hand touched the wound and she frowned before bringing that hand towards me and muttering.

"[Dark shock]"

Immediately a black bolt of lightning surged forward and struck me in the side of the head.

Hmm? All i felt was a little mana being restored in my body and a surge of power welling up in my brand again.

I knew immediately that i had absorbed the darkness into myself thanks to the power of the goddess.

"To think you would really hold the power of a goddess... But that is clearly not Elementia's power but rather Darkeria's power you have flowing through you." She willed the sword to vanish and grabbed the sword that was hanging at her waist. "I'll have to resort to this after all..." She pulled the sword out of the scabbard and i shook. It was pure black all the way through and in the shape of a bolt of lightning. It had strange patterns etched on the surface in places and i could feel a terrible aura emanating off the blade.

"I call her {Kerulsh}. She was a gift from the goddess of darkness herself. It's power is tremendous and on par with Darkeria's own power." She gave it a few swings and took a stance.

I looked at the red sword in my hand and saw particles of darkness attaching themselves to the blade, changing the colour around the edge of the blade to black. I poured a little mana into the blade and it took a more transparent form and hummed slightly.

Looking back up i saw Faeanna take to the sky despite having a wounded wing and small droplets of blood fell to the ground. She pointed the sword at me and disappeared, this time due to magic and not speed.

I turned around and swung my sword with all my might, tearing apart the mana particles in the air and arriving at the blade that appeared behind me.

-shatter- But all i could see was my own sword breaking apart into small particles and vanishing as the black sword came rushing towards me.

"[Shadow step]!" I stepped out behind Faeanna and threw my right hand forward. "By order of the darkness, [Burst flow]."

Tens of black bullets launched forward and teared apart both her wings and passing through her back and lodging inside her body. "[Burst]."

"Nnn, ugh..." She groaned in pain and coughed up a large amount of blood before turning around and stabbing her sword into my left shoulder.

"[Phantom Pain]" After those words left her lips i felt an incredible pain stab into my whole arm. It was like my arm was being fed through a meat grinder an being set ablaze at the same time. But i didn't cry out, no i couldn't cry out. The pain was so unbearable i felt my mind grow fuzzy and my sight dimmed.

Ignoring the protest of my body i forced myself to focus at her face and shouted.

"[Aura of despair]." But she only frowned slightly and and pushed the blade in deeper, breaking through to the other side of my back and forcing me to the ground.

She pushed me back and pinned me to the ground, stabbing the sword into the ground and jolting my arm.

"You have a little talent i'll give you that. But you're far too weak and immature to control those powers of yours. For now i'll believe your little story about being a hero. But i'll have you sleep for a little while."

After a few moments i felt my vision darken and i could no longer support my aching body.

"Mother I have discovered the source of the incredible mana reading, I'll bringing him back by tomorrow. Yes. Yes i understand. I'll give the full report upon my arrival. He was able to injure me and it seems he has the powers spoken of in the prophecy. No... Do not worry i am fine. Well then-" At that point i felt myself fall into a deep sleep...
