I looked into her eyes and pondered for a while before sighing again and looking away.
"I'm from Evestead... I mean Iyage..." I hesitated a little as i spoke but seeing as she didn't say anything i continued.
I guess you could say it's another world or planet different from this one. It may even be from a different dimension entirely."
"Other than attending a so called "Knight training academy" I'm basically just your average human i guess. And as for the brand, well..."
I hesitated again and looked back into her eyes, the deep blue colour calming a little.
"I got it after I... Absorbed? I guess that's what happened. I absorbed a "bloodstone" that i found near my house."
"A bloodstone!? That's unbelievable. Bloodstones are incredibly rare and hard to create, let alone dangerous. While creating it is dangerous in itself, attempting to absorb one is just insane. The incredible amount of mana, life essence and memories would completely destroy a persons soul and body to the point their very existence is erased from time."
She shouted out with a mixed look of worry, fear and disgust on her face after i told her. From that alone i could tell just how unique my situation was.
I thought back on the incredible pain i felt when i absorbed the bloodstone last night and frowned.
"Memories? I don't recall any memories going through my mind when i absorbed it though." It struck me as odd that she would mention memories as well but as for the mana and life essence...
"I do feel stronger though. And before i absorbed the bloodstone i couldn't even sense mana in the first place. So i guess that slight tingling in the air would be mana." I tried to focus on the tingling around my skin and surprisingly i could see a faint shimmer in the air consisting of a few different colours.
"Green, brown, blue, red, white, black, yellow and light blue. So air, earth, water, fire, light, dark, lightning and ice... right?"
I turned back to face her after naming off the colours i saw and asking if the elements i provided were correct.
"..." She had a mixed expression of both amazement and confusion on her face as she stared at me silently.
"Umm, Faeanna? Is something wrong?"
"Are you able to see the aura of the elements in the air?" She slowly opened her mouth and voiced a question with slight intrigue.
"Y-yeah i can. Is that a problem?"
"Yes it is indeed a problem. A very serious problem." She turned around and pulled out a phone from between her breasts.
After flipping it open and tapping the screen a few times she looked back at me and sighed.
Wait... a phone? I couldn't see any radio towers when i was up in the air yesterday and more to the point... A fantasy setting with magic and science huh... This should be interesting.
After a few minutes she closed her phone and placed it back between her breasts. I of course closely watched that action without any indecent thoughts in my mind. Nope, none at all i swear.
"Nick-san you said your a hero didn't you? Is this self proclaimed or did someone claim you to be this hero?"
I felt a small tingling sensation in the back of my mind and hesitated a little. Elementia. That name slowly bubbled up into my thoughts.
"Does the name Elementia sound familiar at all? It's the name of the voice i heard before opening a door to this world yesterday."
At the mention of the name she seemed a little taken aback. But at the mention of opening a door to another world, she had a very scared expression on her face.
"Y-You o-opened a door t-to another world?" The calm and composed aura from before vanished from around her and was replaced by a timid and scared aura of fear. I could see the dark aura around her condensing and growing thick like a miasma.
... The darkness element is flowing through and around her like a violent storm. Is that like her primary element or something? I could tell immediately that my next words would likely decide whether or not a fight broke out.
"Yes i did. After i absorbed the bloodstone i blacked out and when i came to and started to head home, thick black... something started to engulf my surroundings." I began to explain what had happened in detail right up until i blacked out from using all my mana. "And then i woke up to you poking me."
"If that's truly the case then i'll have to test you right here and right now!" Along with those words the darkness surrounding her suddenly condensed rapidly near her hands and started shrinking.
I took a step back instinctively and shivered. [Sword form; Dark Blade] The faint whispers of the goddess leaked into my thoughts and caused me to shake from the surge of power flowing through me.
I Looked down at my hand and saw the brand glowing so intensely it caused me to squint my eyes from pain.
This is... Heh~ How handy. A smile spread on my lips as i breathed out slowly and took a deep breath.
"Spirits of air and fire obey my call, carry out my will and form a weapon of death and killing. Let the life that flows through my blood and my soul be the payment of power and contract. Form a blade of my desire and let the battle flow. [Twin swords of fire and wind; Firestorm Blades]!"
I could feel a massive surge of mana in both my hands at the same time i felt my life force diminish a little. I swung my hands up in the air and back down as a short sword of pale green appeared in my left hand and long sword of deep red appeared in my right.

After checking the weight and shape were how i imagined them i glanced back over and Faeanna and took a stance to ready myself.
A large sword was held in her hands as it shone a pale dark aura. It was a glossy black colour with a thin stripe of pale blue down the center, indicating it had an ice attribute as well. The instant knowledge notices in my head were starting to become more frequent and i laughed a little.
"I hope you can show me a good fight Faeanna. I have three years of training in swordsmanship so i hope i don't humiliate you or anything." ...What the hell! Why did i just say that? Am i TRYING to get killed? I inwardly face palmed myself before focusing on my opponent.
"..." She didn't say anything and just looked at me with determination. She placed one foot forward and disappeared.
No she didn't disappear, she moved so fast that my eyes couldn't keep her in my vision. I raised both my swords up to my chest and held them cross ways while bracing myself.
-clang- The instant i got into a blocking position i felt an incredible force and pressure slam me backwards a good fifty meters, my feet gouging out dirt and grass as i slid back while barely holding my stance.
Faeanna stood where i was a moment ago with the giant sword in her right hand by her her side, her dress and hair fluttering gently from the breeze. Her wings were glowing gently and a small gust of wind was blowing around the feathers.
She must have used her wings to propel herself forward giving her a huge surge of momentum. I gulped a little before bringing my swords down to my sides. I took a reverse grip with the short sword and brought it up to shoulder height near my head. And i brought the longs sword up parallel with my other arm to give the impression of having two knives across my chest.
I took a step forward and poured my mana into my legs and accelerated forwards. "[Air step]!" I leaped forward, instantly covering the fifty meters and swung my red sword forward at Faeanna, aiming for her face.
She brought her sword up and held it flat against my incoming attack.
-clang- I felt the impact of the swords with my whole arm and winced, the pain bring tears to my eyes.
Without hesitating i took a single step back and pivoted on my foot, spinning around and bringing the short sword around for a stab at her hand.
However, as if she knew what i was planning from the start, a small invisible barrier of mana formed around her hand.
My sword hit the barrier and bounced back. I leaped back at the same time and tried to make some distance between us.
At the same time i felt a chilling sensation on my neck and hurriedly spun around and brought my swords up into a block again.
-clang- -shatter- The pale green short sword shattered from the impact and i was sent flying back two hundred meters from the impact, losing my stance and tumbling through the air.
After a few moments i felt an impact at my back and coughed up blood as i felt my back twist in an unnatural position. I closed my eyes and another thought from the goddess entered my mind. Mental chanting. I didn't hesitate at all.
Spirits of light, water, air and earth, i beseech thee to aid me in my fight. Heal my body and imbue me with power. Let the radiance of her majesty, the queen of creation flow through my spirit. Let the power or Elementia was over me. [Aura of life] I opened my eyes and felt an incredible power fill my being. I felt my back going back to normal and my body flowing with extraordinary strength. I flipped myself up and to my feet and fed a large amount of mana into my remaining sword.
"The goddess Darkeria hears your pleas young one. I shall grant you power but i have one condition. You must not slay the young priestess whom you are battling. She is most precious to me and is a key to unlocking my seal. I shall grant you a fragment of my power in exchange for a vow."
Whatever it may be i consent. I'm here to help you goddesses either way so let's get this contract over with shall we.
"Very well then. The condition is that you shall form a soul bind with me, forming a link between our very beings."
... I Nick Everdream hereby vow to pledge my life to the goddess of darkness Darkeria, to bring her happiness and freedom no matter the cost.
"And i the goddess of darkness Darkeria Elementium hereby pledge my heart and soul to the protection and guidance of Nick Everdream. May this contract be eternally binding.
After the final syllable left the girls voice from inside my mind i felt an explosion of power emanating from my brand as it spread to the back of my hand as well, a pure black moon symbol covered the entirety of my hand including the backs of my fingers. A black aura was wafting around the symbol as it seemed to pulsate along with my own pulse. I looked back up to the distant figure of Faeanna and whispered.
