I must have fallen asleep while waiting for the nurse to come back because the next thing I know, I'm being gently jostled inside a chair as the sound of footsteps and wheels resounded in my ears.
"Ngghh... Huh?" I slowly opened my eyes and blinked a few times as I tried to adjust to my surroundings once again, a small tingling sensation sitting in the back of my head.
"Oh you're awake again. We're almost at your new room Nick." The nurse softly spoke from behind me as she gently pushed my chair along the empty, white hallway that seemed to stretch off into the distance.
I brought my hands up to my eyes and rubbed them as I tried to wake up properly from my drowsiness, letting out a yawn as I did so.
A faint sweet aroma began to fill the air as we continued moving forward through the empty hallway with no doors or windows in sight. I blinked in surprise when I noticed a slight pale shimmer appear up ahead, almost like a bubble was taking up space inside the hallway.
As soon as we passed through that bubble-like thing that didn't seem to have a physical shape, I felt a small impact to my eyes and closed them in fright, tears began to form from the sudden impact and drip out from behind my eyelids.
I waited a few seconds before rubbing them with my hands and opening them again, a strange sight then fell upon me.
"..." I was speechless.
In my field of view was a myriad of small lights of different colours drifting through the air, sometimes colliding with each other and sometimes merging with each other to become a new colour.
After staring in wonder for a while I finally noticed we had left the long hallway and come out into a open courtyard of sorts.
There was a large garden filled with different plants, flowers and shrubs off to one side and on the other side was a few comfortable looking benches and a vending machine filled with an assortment of drinks. The whole area had sweet sent drifting through it that gave off a calm and relaxing atmosphere that made you want to just bask in the sunlight and forget your troubles.
"Before I introduce you to the two girls you'll be living with I should probably warn you." The nurse slowly pushed the wheelchair over to a large fountain that was situated in the centre of the courtyard, the sound of the water cascading down it's many layers sounded soothing.
"They don't look like your typical person and they have.. fascinating features. But I assure you, they're very kind girls, I'm sure you'll get along nicely with them. Just try not to stare too much okay?" She slowly brought a hand up and began to stroke my head gently, a small amount of emotions seemed to be transmitted to me. Guilt, sorrow, regret and longing, it made my heart ache a little as I slowly raised my head up and looked up at her figure standing behind me.
I could see just a little under that veil of hers and a small, awkward smile began forming on her lips as her head titled down towards me.
"Let's go shall we." She took her hand away and began pushing me past the fountain and over towards an archway that had a large metal plate with an [ S ] imprinted on it, mounted on the wall above it.
A pang of regret filled my thoughts as I saw a blurry figure flash in my vision for a small instant and I cringed as a small pain resounded in my head as I felt a throbbing in my ears and behind my eyes.
It only lasted a few moments before we passed through another bubble-like thing that filled the archway.
As soon as we passed through it, a large open reception area spread out before my eyes making me unable to believe the sight before me. I turned my head around and leaned aside a little to look behind the nurse, seeing a closed door instead of the courtyard.
"Eh.." I faced back to the front again and blinked a few times in disbelief as we neared the receptionist desk where a young lady was seated, typing into a computer with a slight bored expression covering her pretty face.
Soft grey hair fell loosely to her shoulders and what appeared to be white feathers could be seen poking out from behind her right shoulder.
She slowly looked up from the computer and her pale red eyes locked with mine for an instant and then her expression froze completely. After a moment of silence a small smile spread to her lips and and she stood up and came walking around the desk to stand in front of me.

She leaned down and softly hugged me, her breasts pressing gently into my face and the faint, sweet aroma of a girl entered my nose as she began to tighten her hold on me.
I could feel similar feelings to the nurse begin to be transmitted to me along with love, happiness, surprise and fear.
"I'm glad you're finally awake Nick." She spoke to me as she let go and backed up a few steps to look at me properly. I felt my chest tighten for an instant as I took in her appearance myself. She felt familiar but also foreign at the same time.
"Thank you." I said as I gave a small smile to her. She brought her hand up to her chest and closed her eyes for a moment before heading back around to the other side of the desk and sitting down again.
"That's Azriela, the one in charge of keeping the records of the residents of the S ward. She also acts as a teacher and assistant when needed. You'll be spending a lot of time with her during your stay here. And yes, that's a real wing on her back." The nurse chuckled a little as she informed me of the receptionists name and job.
Azriela... Another familiar name... I brought a hand up to my face and covered my left eye as a small pain filled my head again at the mention of the name.
"Are Darkeria and Chio awake at the moment? I want to introduce them to Nick now that he's finally arrived."
"Ugghhh!" I let out a loud groan as my head began to feel like it would explode from the sudden pain and pressure that assaulted me at the mention of the two names.
"..."
"..." I felt the two's gazes on me as I endured the pain.
"Are you alright? Don't push yourself too much, the memory loss should only be temporary and forcing yourself to remember may just cause you to damage not only the memories but your body as well." The nurse slowly spoke to me as she placed a hand on my head and transmitted a calming aura to me.
"I'm okay, it's just that each time I've heard all your names, a sharp pain wells up in my head that feels like it's going to tear my head apart." I replied calmly as the pain began to subside once again.
"I see." She took her hand away from my head and then walked over to the desk and began to talk quietly with the receptionist in an unfamiliar language.
I felt myself growing drowsy again and so I l et myself get carried off to dreamland once again.
A series of images flashed in front of me.
A large collection of blurry figures rapidly flashed in front of me.
Some filled me with happiness.
Some filled me with regret.
Some filled me with longing.
Some filled me with anger.
But the one thing all these figures had in common...
Everyone of them... was smiling.......
After a while all the images stopped flashing past me and a single image stopped and plastered itself in my vision....
A dark haired girl and a green haired girl were smiling and both holding a hand out towards me as if beckoning me towards them. There faces were blurred out except for those smiles. As I slowly reached out to them, the image slowly faded away and I was left with only sadness, regret, longing and fear inside my heart. The darkness began to stretch out swallow everything in sight until only I was left standing there, reaching out my arm in vain.
