To all my faithful readers,
It has been quite a challenging yet exciting two months for me to bring to you all the fictional universe of Sylph Resurgence. After all, posting a total of 500+ pages in a short span of 2 months required immense effort and discipline to post daily, which I believe not many fiction authors in RRL has achieved. Yes, I admit that all of my work presented so far were already done up long before I posted the first chapter of Book 1, but still, it wasn't easy to cramp 8 months of written work into 2 months (I'm pretty old school in the sense that I write my drafts with pen and paper before typing it all into Microsoft Word)
Enough of the past, what about the future, some may ask? It pains me to inform you all that as university/college life is about to start for me in August, I wouldn't be able to post as often as now, especially because I wouldn't have that much time to properly pen my ideas down. In fact, I'll be honest with you guys, I currently only have 6 completed chapters (excluding the prologue) for Book 3. This means that it's unfeasible for me to carry on at my current rate given my limited material.
Therefore, I've decided to take a short hiatus in order to have some free time to start working on Book 3 and other real life commitments, such as my study plan for university. The Prologue of Book 3: Advent of Chaos would be released punctually on 31st July 2017, and chapters would be released on a weekly/fortnightly basis thereafter.
It's not all doom and gloom though, during this hiatus and any other spare time I can afford, apart from working on Book 3, I intend to work on providing more source material to my Database which link can be found on every chapter thus far. I have received comments that my story has TOO MANY characters and TOO MUCH information,a characteristic of shonen manga/anime which I draw my inspiration from.
Therefore, I feel that it's imperative that I spend more time working on the Database which you guys can refer to when you're lost as to who's who and what's going on. Expect to see more fun facts on the Database such as combat-related information, country-related information and character biodatas etc! It'll be a ton of work, but I know it'll go a long way in helping you guys appreciate the story better!
I would like to end my announcement with my personal opinion on my story thus far. I felt that while it may have been confusing to some due to the influx of so many new characters and information at one go, nonetheless, I felt that it's been generally well written, when it came to language at the very least.

Why am I sharing my opinion on my story? The answer is because of my disappointment in receiving so few reviews, in fact, none at all. I emphasise, reviews, NOT ratings. Why are reviews important? Reviews help the author see where he's lacking and work on improving those shortcomings, so that he might present a better, more entertaining piece of work to all you readers out there.
It hurts me to receive a rating of 2 and 2.5 without even understanding where I've gone wrong which of course, caused the ranking of my story to plummet. Call me sensitive and insecure, but I do check my Dashboard very often on my statistics such as Ranking, Overall Score and of course, Number of Followers. I'm not saying you all should give me high reviews and ratings, that's utter bullshit that disrespects the freedom of opinion.
However, I'm also a firm believer in the following adage, "If you have nothing good to say, keep your mouth shut." Adapting this quote a little, what I would like to stress is that if you're gonna give me a poor rating without an accompanying review as to why you feel the story's bad and some constructive criticism to improve the story, then I'd rather you don't give me a rating at all.
Giving me a poor rating without a helpful explanation makes me feel that you're dissing me, knowing that you're safe behind your wall of anonymity that the Internet is famous for. I wouldn't feel so much annoyance from someone who gave me an overall score of 1 out of 5 but provided substantial reasons for his review and ways to improve my story further. This shows his objectivity as a reader and his desire to help the author reach greater heights.
As an avid reader of many RRL fictions myself, I've answered the clarion call from budding authors to read and review their fictions. I generally try to give a positive review, while being honest about their shortcomings because I want to help them improve their works further, for the sakes of both of us.
If I felt that a story was really bad, I wouldn't give a review/rating at all, but rather comment/PM them to alert them of their mistakes and help them improve from there. After all, I dislike giving poor scores, for it can adversely affect the confidence and interest the authors have in designing and portraying their fictional universes. Confidence is an essential ingredient for success regardless of profession and without it, I doubt anybody can excel in their field.
Sorry for my rant on my annoyance with the lack of reviews, just to sum up the important parts of this announcement again, stay tuned for the release of the Prologue of Book 3 on 31st July 2017, after which chapters would be released on a weekly/fortnightly basis. Moreover, do check out the link to my Sylph Resurgence Database as I'll be uploading more stuff there soon to help you appreciate the story better! Until then, thanks for the support and bye!
Best Regards,
