Chapter 95
When Langyu awoke, the first thing she sensed was a nauseating smell that made her nostrils perk up and water. Upon opening her eyes, she saw her master put away a bowl of some sort into his space.
“You are only mortal, so particular items with offensive smells can wake you up in a jiffy. Eat this, it will wash out the horrible taste.” The boy who still looked like a teen handed her a bar of white chocolate.
Slurping sounds were heard as Langyu rubbed the bar on her tongue like a soap, aiming to wash out the bitter taste. When she had finished one bar, the master passed her another. Like this, she finished seven bars of chocolate before the offending taste was gone.
Together with her master, she watched the twin Immortal Kings duke it out on a 16-bit console from the 90’s. Watching that, she felt a some shame thinking of how she had overdone it, but the high of defeating two Immortal Kings who were supposed to oppose her surpassed it.
“Good job defeating my two disciples. Even though it was only a SNES game, you still competed with two Immortal Kings. To win even once, your good fortune is evident.” Hearing the master’s words, her self-satisfaction increased.
“Even though it is a toy even in the world where it was created, playing SNES is strangely fun. It is a marvel from the human race of Earth, the world where the net of karma suppresses Daoism, Buddhism and Hinduism.” Hearing this, she looked towards her master inquisitively. “A needlessly complex world, a perfect world where the inadequacy needed for cultivation does not exist. A world where Demons hold power, the will of the human race against Heaven… Langyu, you were quite lucky.”

Langyu looked dumbfoundedly at her master. Originally, she knew that during her ‘analysis’ using the SYSTEM, he hacked into it and retrieved some memories of her past. But he surely knew more of Earth than her.
The mysterious SNES system, the master’s understanding of coding despite ‘lack of talent’ and his words that were so abstruse as to be incomprehensible…
Suddenly, something clicked in Langyu’s mind and she smiled. With a heroic aura, he declared, “Master, I don’t wish to return to Earth. Now that I have transmigrated here and become your disciple, all my ties to my past are severed. I only wish to become the strongest sword-wielder and reach the realm of shattering the void!”
“Even if you don’t want to return, you’ll have to. That SYSTEM can’t be stripped off you and it will return you for reaping one day. Before that day arrives, I’ll have to train you up so you don’t just get splattered.” Heifeng Jiansui sighed, looking like a student facing a particularly tricky math problem. “It is a work where cultivation doesn’t work and even the human body is fundamentally different. DNA, it is an unsolvable puzzle to render you a meatbag incapable of gathering a drop of strength from the world. Anyway, forget about it for now. We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.”
Langyu was filled with more questions, but her master’s last uttered words compelled her mouth shut.
A strange silence lingered for a few moments before Heifeng Jiansui spoke. “Well, I might as well teach you something. Right now, you should have near-zero knowledge of this world, right? So, I’ll begin from the basics.”
Just then, a pinkish- green light flashed and the twins were seated flat on their knees beside Langyu.
When Langyu and Heifeng Jiansui talked about her homeworld, they kept themselves away and paid no attention to their personal conversation. But when Heifeng Jiansui mentioned ‘teach’, the two arrived like hungry wolves!
Langyu remembered that ultimately, the three together were still disciples of a generation. Only Shui Yan was his disciple from the previous era, but Heifeng Jiansui had accepted herself and the twins as disciples in this era.
That meant that the twins too were unlikely to have availed his teachings…
