Chapter 80: Learning from Nineorigin (4)

“So, I just accumulated faith that I would have needed 10,000 years to gather due to you. Even though it isn’t nearly enough to compensate, I’ll grant you the materials needed to refine your Nineprime Sword Body…” Nineorigin handed over a spatial ring.

Heifeng Jiansui checked it over with spiritual sense. There were various beast blood essences, natural treasures, precious metal ingots, elemental essences and various miscellaneous items. It seemed that Nineorigin had spent some time gathering these items earlier as a reward for him.

“…So, how was my legacy?” Nineorigin’s words were timid.

“A better term would be a Divine Legacy, a book with the teachings of a deity written down. Reading and reciting it allows a devotee to transmit faith to the Deity.” Heifeng said this as if he was teaching her. “As for that Divine Legacy of yours... It is utterly vile trash that will liquefy the brains of the weak. My literary foundation of countless years was nearly destroyed by this tribulation. The entire writing was made to oppose the reader. Such a legacy should not be allowed to exist anymore. Please, burn those books to dust for the good of the world.”

Nineorigin had never heard Heifeng Jiansui speak with such a sincere tone. The shame that she had suppressed burst out of its cages in her mind.

Once again sealing it, she shamelessly kept on speaking, “I can give you anything you want in this world in exchange for reading through those books once more.”

“If I need anything that I cannot obtain, I’ll ask the Yin-Yang Supreme Couple.” Heifeng Jiansui’s reply froze her in her tracks. Of course, he had such allies, why wouldn’t he request their help?

“There is something that the Yin-Yang Supreme Couple cannot get you…” Swaying her hips salaciously and making her breasts heave with every shake, she walked step by step to Heifeng Jiansui’s side in a eye-catching manner. With a sudden motion, she wrapped herself around him with a sudden hug, her softness pressing enticingly around him.

“…Are you actually trying to seduce me? Isn’t that a bit too much for a mere 10,000 years of faith?” Heifeng Jiansui wouldn’t step into hell again on his own volition.

“Hehe, your heart is beating faster isn’t it? Don’t you want to push me down just like that…?” Nineorigin devilishly smiled, her head pressed onto Heifeng Jiansui’s chest.

Heifeng Jiansui’s heartbeat died with a single thought. He pushed away Nineorigin clinging onto him. “Don’t you think you are being too cheap? Anyway, I won’t read those books again for the world.”

“How about I give you some service as advance payment and you pay me back later?” Nineorigin’s lust-filled smirk as she asked fell with Heifeng Jiansui’s headshake.

Heifeng Jiansui shook his head.

“I have zero experience but we can try out creative stuff. For example…” Nineorigin patted her butt while giving him a lazy wink.

“Still no.” Heifeng Jiansui was determined to refuse.

“I’ll let you tie me up in ropes and use chains and stuff to do naughty things to me!” Nineorigin said this after some thought, not having thought of anything else.

“10,000 years of faith energy doesn’t mean much in the first place. You are acting way too desperate.” Heifeng Jiansui casually dismissed her.

“So what do you want me to do? Wait around for tens of thousands of years to pass and faith energy to accumulate?” Heifeng Jiansui smirked at Nineorigin’s annoyed voice.

“…You don’t know much about faith energy do you?” Unwillingly, Nineorigin nodded at Heifeng Jiansui’s question.

“The power of faith is derived from the belief and prayers of countless people. I neither have faith in you nor do I think of you as an existence to be worshipped. This one time worked but trying to use this method further will be a fruitless endeavor.” Hearing this, Nineorigin slumped.

“That said, you are literally the best suited person to be worshipped as a Deity. As the person currently known as the strongest of this era heading the strongest sect, you control a large portion of the Chaosworld. If you play it correctly, you could disseminate your faith across the entire Chaosworld, at which point 10,000 years of faith energy will be nothing of worth to you.” Hearing this Nineorigin eagerly looked at Heifeng Jiansui for an answer.

“Only problem is that your Divine Legacy is too much. The biggest problem isn’t the nonsensical structure of your writing, but the extent of Laws fused into the manuals. You somehow stuffed an entire Supreme Dao into each one of them! How do you expect ordinary cultivators to perceive them?” Hearing Heifeng Jiansui’s question, Nineorigin nodded.

“I have tried to fix both writing structure and the saturation of Laws in the text, but it is impossible for me to modify. Rather than something I can consciously change, it is more like an innate ability of my World Spirit lineage.” Of course, Nineorigin would try to fix this problem, but it was simply impossible to change for her!

Responding with a nod, Heifeng Jiansui continued. “Something like forcing Perennial Lords into reading them day and night would backfire as well. If you simply force them to do that, they will certainly harbor resentment and hate towards you, warping their faith energy into a poison. As for brainwashing them, it will be impossible for them to comprehend Laws of the manuals with a compromised mind.” Nineorigin nodded at Heifeng Jiansui’s words, inwardly rejoicing that she had never tried such stupidity.

“So, is anything possible? Anyway I can disseminate my Divine Legacy to the outside world to gather faith?” Nineorigin’s question was rhetorical; even though Heifeng Jiansui knew more about gathering faith, it still wasn’t much.

“…There might be a way.” Heifeng Jiansui planned on simply saying ‘no’, but seeing Nineorigin’s expression he decided to speak up.

“There is, really?” Nineorigin was still wrapping herself around Heifeng Jiansui. To provide incentive for him to speak, he liberally pressed her body on him.

“…Your Divine Legacy based on the Heavenly Dao of the world, more specifically the Nine Origin Supreme Dao. That said they reach them from Natural Dao, Great Dao and finally Supreme Dao. Why don’t you abridge your manual, removing the pages containing the simplest laws and disseminate them?” At Heifeng Jiansui’s words, she shook her head.

“I can’t do that… I can’t read the manuals myself. As for separating pages, that is forbidden to me.” Nineorigin regretfully shook her head.

“Can’t read the Divine Legacy, can’t damage the Divine Legacy and can’t modify the Divine Legacy… This is too restricting.” Heifeng Jiansui sighed as he said this.

“Hey, I remembered something. You were acknowledged by the Heavenly Dao so perhaps you can try changing the manual!” Nineorigin remembered this and nearly flew jumping.

“Not possible. The current me is still a mortal, if something like a tribulation occurs I’ll be screwed. Furthermore, if I try and modify your manual now, I might inadvertently start gathering the faith that should be drawn to you.” Heifeng Jiansui rejected her idea.

“That’s…” Nineorigin seemed quite dejected.

“Don’t worry, once I complete the Black Phoenix Ancestral Heritage and step onto the path of cultivation, I’ll be able to use a technique to isolate faith energy. I’ll modify your book then… So, wait for it okay?” Heifeng Jiansui consoled her.

“Okay… I’ll wait for you then.” Nineorigin nodded.

“So now that we’ve settled this, can you stop squeezing me? I might do something impulsive, you know?” Heifeng Jiansui tried to get out of Nineorigin’s grip, but she pressed on him even more firmly.

“Something impulsive, huh? That sounds sweet. I wouldn’t mind if you ended up doing something impulsive, I will even welcome it… So dear disciple, you are always so calm, I kind of want to see how you’ll act impulsive…” Nineorigin’s purring voice and devilish smile as she pressed herself on Heifeng Jiansui was enough to him lose inhibition.
