The smell of burnt skin drifted to my nose, I kinda regretted doing that now

Pocketing my mini flamethrower, I gently rolled the zombie rat away into a crevice using my flail

The corpse would probably attract some other rats or yet another parasites to inhabit it. Just like the ones near the gelatin cavern

Thinking about it, An uncomfortable feeling welled up inside me. If I don't clean those up would they be infested by parasites? And would they then take over the entire place?

I can't help but look at the zombie rat cautiously

Although looking at the state it's in, I doubt any parasites would like to live in there. Eitherway, parasites are annoying

I shake my head and forced myself not to think too much, I stared at the still not disappearing screens and touched a few things

Blinking, I tried just that, never really tried it

There was no notification or something to signify I did, so I tried swaying my body too. After a while of nothing, I moved with my head aswell

"Y-yeah! I think I'm doing it!" As of now, my whole body is moving, hands swaying left and right, my leg kicking back and forth while my head is banging the air

I did it for several minutes before realizing I'm an idiot and I'm just dancing....

Sighing to myself, I clicked my tongue seeing as all the screens have disappeared. I've wanted to check it out more but you can't have good things in life

Looking at the dead zombie rat, I glared at it before ignoring it as I continued my walk towards the intersection

I was already close to it so it did not take long for me to arrive

The shrieks were disturbing and it's making me feel uncomfortable... I really don't want to stay here for too long

"Left it is then..." I gripped my flail tighter and entered the left intersection slowly. The sounds of the shrieks dimming away as I did

I wondered what kind of creature I'd meet next? cause it seemed like everytime I go out there's a difference monster to greet me

Would it be some human eating plants? Bees with stingers the size of a skyscraper? A living rock? I could only guess

Soon, I reached a turn. I poked my head in and saw light reaching towards the end

"Another gelatin cavern or something with plantbulbs?" I hesitated, was that where the big blob came from...? It did came from the right when I met it...

My hand moved to my pocket, changing my weapon from flail to mini flamethrower.

I slowly walked towards the other side until I reached the end, taking a peek inside, I paused

There was a floating orb in the center

"Woah..." Woah was an understatement to what I seen

'A f*cking floating orb! How cool is that!?' Excitement filled my entire being but maybe it shouldn't have. This was a game after all

Something that finally fits my interest, Sci fi!

Ideas already started filling my head about the game I'm in, supported by all the movies about sci fi I've seen in my free time

Is the game's theme that I was inside an abandoned spaceship and I have to restore it...? Nah that was too farfetch

Maybe I'm in a lost civilization, buried under the earth or or!

As I was lost in my childlike fascination, the floating orb started glowing red in response to me

It was only when it started to flash in intensity did I realize it "What's it doing?" But I realized way too late

A shrill came from behind and I flinched in suprise

[You have entered the dungeon core! Destroy the core before the dungeons monsters destroy you!] A screen appeared infront of my face, covering my line of sight

"Not now f*cke- akh!!!" Something collided with my head

I didn't have time to check what it was as it was already gone before I got my hands on it and that I also have to do something soon

"Sh*t" There was a rat infront of me, more importantly. There were parasites coming out of every hole it has

I sparked my lighter to life and sprayed my perfume, flames spreading quickly as it did but the rat did not stop and persistentky rushed at me

And as I was torching the rat, multiple rats have appeared along with their ear piercing shrills

"Skreeeeeee!!!!!"

I stopped torching the rat who was following me and kicked it towards the swarm of rats

It made them stumble and I take this opportunity to strike, if not for something colliding with my head

It did not shriek nor shrill. It was silent and aloof. It was a fly. A huge f*cking fly!

Without thinking. I torched it, Its wings burned and it fell to the ground. No sounds were emitted, except for its light buzzing

Then it hit me or perhaps they

The swarm of rats ran up to me and made me stumble to the ground

They weren't that close before! How could they close the distance so quickly!? I wanted answers but it wasn't the time for that!

The rats are already climbing on top of me and there were more coming, I tried to regain my footing and tossed away the rats that climbed on me

One bit me as I was about to toss it away, making me drop my lighter

"F*ck" Was this it? Is this game over?

There were already more rats than before and some other kinds of creatures, like the fly from before, more were also running towards me

If I don't do anything soon, I will die! Game over! I'm not sure what would happen if I did and I'm no loser!

I have to live!

I ditched my perfume and took out my flail

I swung it towards the nearest rat while backing up after doing so. What did the screen said before again? Right... destroy the orb

"Skreeeeeee!!!!"

Although that's not going to be easy

I turned my back towards the swarm of creatures and rushed towards the orb, the room is so spacious so I'm not very sure if I could make it there without them killing me first

The orb is still flashing erratically red and it could probably trigger seizures, not that I have one of course

A soft buzzing neared beside me, A fly. I grimaced

Readying up my flail, I turned to look at the fly only to be mesmerized with its eyes....

So shiny... no what am I doing!? I blinked, several rats are already crawling on top of me, cutting me open with their claws

'Mindf*ckery!!!!'

I screamed and batted away the fly along with the rats, but it was hopeless. Countless rats have already reached me and there were even blobs among them

'What could I do!?' I wanted to scream at somebody! Asked them to do something!

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! I berated myself for even doing this, I shouldn't have been so curious and act like a little child about some floating ball

What could I even do in this situation!? curl up and die!?? I clenched my fists 'Do I want that? No! So f*cking move!!!' I yelled at my self

Rats of all kinds, flies and blobs were already hindering me and my vision, they would claw at my face, entrance me or suck me in, in their insides

In short, I could barely move

"MOVE!!! F*CKING DAMN IT!!!!!!!" But I did not care and just scream, rivaling all the rats shrills and shrieks

My feet surged, pulling me out of the blob's insides, I grabbed a rat away from my face and tossed them aside

Multiple bites and scratches filled my body but I continued moving towards the orb

'Do I want to loose!? No!!!!' I hate losing and I hate being the one ganged up upon, losing made me look weak and I hated that! That feeling of losing is worse than death!!!

'That's why I have no choice but to continue moving on!!!' My feet surged again, It was heavier this time as countless creatures weighed on top of me. Threatening to make me fall

I didn't know how long I continued that, forcing myself to move and finding something to make me. It was an endless cycle that I have already loose count on

I also don't know how many injuries or wounds I have sustained, could my toilet paper even handle all this sh*t?

"f*ck....." I heaved a deep breath, my legs are starting to give out from the continuous pressure and weight on top of me

I knew I would fall soon. It's only a matter of time before I did, it is way too taxing for me to keep going

But it was as if a miracle has been given to me! I've reached the core! It suprised me, the blinking orb had been a breath of fresh air from the dull rats, flies and blobs

I stared at it with disbelief mixed with amazement but then I shook my head

I didn't want to waste precious seconds being amaze upon seeing the orb up close, so I started to bang my head towards it as I've already lost my flail to the swarm

'That didn't work...' I noted, seeing the clear reflective surface of the orb, fresh of scratches or any damage

So I changed tactics

I grabbed a rat from my sides and started using its sharp crooked teeth as a pickaxe, chipping away at the orb

This aroused a reaction from the orb

If it's flashing before had been seizure inducing, this one is a whole new level

The orb flashes so erratically that I doubt it even flashed. But it did and that means I'm doing something

I continued chipping away at the orb, grinning like a mad man. Every strike I did leave a good amount of damage on both the orb and the rat I am using

Soon I was presented with this

[The orb has cracked. Its power had been leaked on to you, The orb has no master, ownership has been transferred to you]

[Panic mode, deactivated. Monsters would be temporarily put into sleep mode]

After seeing the screens, I collapsed into a heap of rats that has collapsed along with me

Only one thought thought filled my mind at the moment and that is that....
