Chapter 15
Red dagger
Heeeh heeeg heeeh heeeh
To breathe was hard.
I coughed a little and watched as blood came free from my mouth.
It landed with a splat , joining the red that pooled on the ground.
The ever expanding puddle reflected the world above. With a light haze over my eyes and a numb pain in my chest I looked into the pool of blood and watched the world through a scene of red.
My first sight was my new enemy. He looked down at me like I looked up at him, A questioning glare on his face
With a shake of his head he walked away just one word leaving him.
“Disappointing. “
On the edge of the deck Lysa stood. Her palm wrapped around the hilt of her blade and her eyes steady. They wavered not once as the man walked forward , his hand disappearing into his cloak where it came free with yet another blade ,pointy and thin.
A slight mist left Lysa’s sword. A blue and white haze that coalesced and solidified while extending. With her sword pointed down the energy cut the deck. A small cut that increased in length by the second.
The two faced off from a meter away and with narrowed eyes I saw determination in her eyes. The determination to face death.
So I stood.
Or tried too. First with my right arm , then my left, I pushed upon the oak floor. The weight of death on the other side closing against me. With a heavy grunt I propped my chest off the floor. Cold filling in the touch of my skin that was wet with blood.
“Ah , you live. “
The haze of red I saw on my vision darkened. My thoughts were far , hard to reach and hard to keep, let alone respond to him.
So I didn’t.
Instead I reached into the cusp of my pants where the second of the three daggers I obtained sat. A crimson red curved knife.

With a heavy grunt I pulled the blade free.
“You plan on fighting still? “
The clack of shoe on wood echoed as the man turned and walked closer.
“A respectful attempt for life , I’ll give you that. “ The man stood few feet away from me now. Blade in hand.
“But not good enough.”
His blade fell.
Narrowed eyes watched it this time. Before I hadn’t been able to glimpse it, so fast was his movement. This time however I could see it, I could see his blade and the strange technique he used to get to me before I could notice.
In the zoned in world I saw through my magic eye , with time slow enough for one to count using the 100th of a second I watched carefully.
The truth was terrifying.
For the man hadn’t done anything special at all, he had simply moved.
Even now I could barely follow the tip of his blade as he flicked it forward. The remains of the distance between us shattering as the blade fell toward my eye.
I watched as Lysa rushed forward with a slash full of desperation. I glanced as Peeps closed in from the sky , body abuzz with flowers.
Desperation traced their eyes as they rushed through space, my vision seeing both equally as the blade descending toward me split my vision in two.
I smiled at that.
“What a good crew. “
Then, a blade thunked.
The tip of the blade slick and red, matched the pool of blood that had slicked from my chest. It matched before it fell, but when it did it darkened even further. It pulled in the blood like a fish does water lapping it into its greedy edge. The blood rushed backward in a thin wall, bouncing off the fast swordsman in one clang.
I smiled deeper, as the blood finally stopped going against gravity. The thin wall of blood that saved my life retreating backwards into the wound still filled in with a sword.
“Ughahh! Uhagggggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
The scream unloosed from my lips rang loudly. A symphony of pain that danced along the bounding of blood through my flesh and the shoving of metal through muscle fibers.
Blood rushed through both sides of my body before the pain finally stopped. The sword clanging to the deck as the wound closed.
With a face full of surprise the swordsman looked aghast. So agahast he missed the blade and dolphin that fell upon him.
“Enchanted Sword. Blossom! “
“Squeak !”
Booooooom!
From the side of the deck the man sat. Eyes annoyed and angry as a bit of blood dripped from his body.
It wasnt much though. A last minute parry faster than the mortal eye could follow had saved him. The man stood and reached out his hand .
WuvWuvWuv.
With a hum the blade pulled itself back into his hand then the man turned to me with a grimace.
“Fine , I was expecting a fight. “
His two blades faced off against all of us.
High captain turned navigator.
Magical Dolphin.
And I Once the scourge of the seas.
Then he struck.
