Chapter 1: A New Goal

Chapter 1: A New Goal

In a forest with dense mana not suitable for humans to stay in, an individual was roaming around. On his back was a sack on his back which seemed to be bulging from every side and a sword and shield beside his hips and on his back. Seemingly alert of his surroundings, his eyes darted here and there to see if any presence was near him.

As soon as he reached his a stone house in the middle of nowhere with a sign board of a hammer and anvil clashing with each other, almost giving a medieval feel to it.

Having noticed something unusual, his pace changed and put more focus to his surroundings as he entered with caution.

The door made a creaking sound as he slid into the house. Noticing that no was present, he let his guard down. As his eyes strayed forward he noticed a piece of paper lying on the wooden table. Picking up the note his eyes widened as if he were petrified to his very core.

“Hey Ean, I am sorry to say this but by the time you read this message I will have probably gone away to somewhere you don’t belong. I have gotten too old for this job. I have recently been losing my vigour and striking the piece of metal a few times leads me to exhaustion. I have taught you everything I know and even more than that. This old man will only hold your talent back so I am better off somewhere without you. I am leaving my smithy to you, as well as my fortune. Even though it’s not a lot I hope you will be able to sustain yourself. If you want to meet me again, make a name of yourself in Allasa and we shall meet again if our gods of fate approve to do so.

-Yours sincerely

Old man”

Reading the whole note, Ean found himself a bit dumbfounded at the sudden progression of events while he felt his legs losing energy.

“Grun, are you serious...?”

Ean spoke after a managed to release heavy sigh. Coping up with the sudden events he started to plan out what to do. Having his brain cope up with all that’s happening he left the note on the bed as he started to plan out his future expedition.

Ean slowly reached for an old box covered with grit and dust and swept his hand across it’s surface. As he slowly opened it, he slowly opened

Looking through the items he was stupefied at the exorbitant amount of gold within it. It was comparable to the reward of a S rank quest. Having never used currency he wasn’t extremely sure what he could possible buy with this huge sum. Showing an individual a status screen who doesn’t even have an essence showed the worth of this storage box itself.

Ean didn’t bother looking at the sword and ingots as he was all too familiar with those items as well as he couldn’t access its status screen. Ean actually had 3 essence core, 2 silver rank and 1 gold rank but he couldn’t equip it at the moment as he’d first need a starter essence before moving onto an essence with superior quality.

Having put the special box into his rugged pouch, he decided to sleep for the day as it was going to be a long journey.

The next having woken up early morning, he took his shield and sword and put it in his back and hips respectively. Getting warmed up for his journey he ate some grilled meat he had got on his last expedition to the forest.

Ean was well aware of which direction Allasa was in it after having spent his whole life in the forest. He had already pondered upon the fact of who his parents were but to no avail he couldn’t find a single clue.

Heading in the direction of north, he started to pay attention to his surroundings again. As he treaded along the path he had encountered a few monsters yet every one of them ran without batting an eye.

The monsters of this area were said to be sentimental beings and very well dreaded the individual living in this forest for his fierceness popular among the nearby monsters.

Ean had finally had a goal in his life. To meet up with Grun again.
