CHAPTER 33

"Fair fights only." Kesshō mumbled as she raised her right arm in front, prepared to continue the fight.

"I do sometimes wonder if leaving your soul intact would have been better, though I doubt you are capable of the same ruthlessness as your sisters. That being said, it is only natural even your will to protect would crumble under the right circumstances." The Creator sighed, punching the air in front of him.

Kesshō stumbled backwards from the force of the wind, creating an opening as The Creator dashed ahead, raising his fist and slamming it towards Kesshō's head. Twisting her body Kesshō kicked his fist to the side, barely deflecting it. Raising his hand to the side The Creator slammed Kesshō to the side, down through one of the holes. He leapt backwards as flames licked the platform, blasting through where he stood before and landing a short distance in front of him. Kesshō got back up, retracting her wings and extinguishing the flames.

"Construct: Knight." The Creator mumbled as he raised his hand in front, a golden glow emitting from it.

A black shadowy figure formed in front of him, slightly taller than Kesshō, it's outfit and appearance very similar to The Creator. The only difference that unlike The Creator, the hood of its robe remained lowered, revealing long black hair. The figure held a sword in her hand, a katana, completely black from handle to tip.

"I believe she is armed enough." The Creator smiled as he walked away, gesturing towards Kesshō as the Construct glanced at him.

Kesshō unsheathed her katana, blocking a slash from the dark figure and kicking it back away. The dark figure dashed back in, a red glow engulfing it's katana as it swung towards Kesshō. Kesshō parried it above, slashing towards the figure which it dodged by retreating away. The figure now held a different katana, it's handle made of interwoven black and crimson fabric, seperated from the blade by an obsidian-black oval handguard. Bright red flame patterns extended from the handguard up to the tip of the katana, glowing slightly as it channeled a small amount of mana through it.

"What is the meaning of this?" Kesshō questioned The Creator, standing some distance away.

"Why do you ask so?" The Creator inquired, gesturing the figure to stop attacking.

"The sword style and ability are same." Kesshō replied as she pointed towards the Construct's katana.

"I did not expect you to realise seeing how dense you usually are," The Creator mumbled. "Yes, it is the same as the one commonly known as Opal."

"Its a copy of Opal?" Kesshō inquired as she tilted her head.

"No, it would be wrong to call it a copy, afterall, I made this before her birth," The Creator answered.

"I don't understand," Kesshō murmured.

"I am not expecting you to, you have been made to kill, puzzles and riddles are not supposed to be one of your strengths. My only expectation for you ever has been to kill anything and everything that stands in your way to the top. Unfortunately, I am the only one left till you reach this peak," The Creator sighed. "Reach it, then defend that title of the strongest for some time, your real battle will start after it. If you are incapable of handling the loss you will face till then, then I will take it as my fault for choosing to raise you to be as fragile as you are."

"Humans are complicated," Kesshō mumbled, "you are no exception."

"I guess I should have expected your senses to have realised that by now," The Creator chuckled.

The Construct dashed towards Kesshō, it's katana turning into an orb of red light, springing forwards and taking the shape of a spear as the figure thrust it towards Kesshō. Spinning on her feet Kesshō dodged the attack, cutting the spear in half and spinning on her feet again, decapitating the construct with a horizontal slash before it could retreat away.

"I am still unsure why I need to fight you." Kesshō mumbled, flicking her katana to the side before sheathing it.

"Am I not the one who put you through several lives of suffering?" The Creator questioned.

"Unlike master, I don't remember my past lives. The only thing which I still have from them I think is this injury on my palm, and I don't think you caused this," Kesshō shrugged.

"You do not understand how souls work yet, I would like you to repeat that once you fully understand them," The Creator sighed.

"A father will never want anything bad to happen to his daughters though. I am not smart enough to understand why, but I am sure Sapphire would have figured it out if she was in my place," Kesshō mumbled.

"A father?" The Creator inquired.

"Are you not?" Kesshō questioned with a tilt of her head. "Mother still cares about all of us, she left a while ago to check on the others I think, so you have to as well, right?"

"Yes, your mother does care. I have greater matters to focus on however," The Creator answered. "I will certainly say however, you have really taken after your mother, for you to think so much about the one you are here to kill."

"My memory is bad, but I feel like you are not someone who would do wrong," Kesshō murmured.

"Are you trying to make me feel guilt for everything I have done?" The Creator questioned.

"I don't know what you have done, master never told me. I trust him, so I decided to fight, but I still couldn't suppress my curiosity. I wanted to know if it's true or not after I realised what you are," Kesshō sighed.

"You should simply follow him, he is the one who thinks about protecting you, and not using you. To me, you are but a weapon that I created, the strongest and most perfect weapon, one made for a very selfish reason." The Creator replied with a shrug.

"I don't understand why still," Kesshō mumbled.

"Is this really the time to be childish?" The Creator grunted.

"I am a child though," Kesshō sighed.

"And this is the reason why you are kept in the dark about everything," The Creator sighed. "Very well then, the time for entertaining your curiosity and questions has ended, it is time to show you why they called me a god."

The Creator swung his arm in front of him, unleashing a golden slash of energy towards Kesshō. Kesshō slashed upwards with her katana, a crescent moon blade trailing it. The two slashes collided, both dispersing into a blast of energy, knocking Kesshō back onto another path and destroying the section where she stood before. Kesshō performed a diagonal slash towards The Creator, sending a crescent moon blade towards him. The Creator smacked the moon blade to the side with his arm, knocking it into the wall and destroying it.

Kesshō spread all four of her wings again as she sheathed her katana, flames igniting at the corners of her mouth as she activated her Demonic Eye of Destruction. Kesshō launched herself forwards, flames engulfing her body and taking the shape of a bird. A dome of golden energy formed in front of the Creator, several waves of the energy gathering at it's center. Kesshō slammed her leg on the barrier, cracking it but failing to break through. All nine of her tails stabbed into the barrier, shattering it and allowing her to land on the ground.

The Creator stepped back, both of his legs and arms getting wrapped by four of the tails just as he did. Kesshō pulled herself towards him with the tails, drop kicking his torso and sending him flying away. The Creator slid on the path, stopping at the edge. He clapped both his hands in front as a golden glow enveloped them, sending a shockwave and knocking Kesshō away.

Before she could land he appeared beside her, slamming his arm into her and sending her flying through a wall. Flames engulfed her body as she used her wings to turn around and fly upwards, disappearing from view behind the wall. The Creator looked up as a meteor of blue-pink flames burst through the path above. A golden glow enveloped his hand as he punched upwards, dispersing the flames and scattering the debris of the falling path, though he did not find Kesshō to be there.

He turned to the side on feeling it to be unnaturally warm, looking on as flames burst through a chunk of debris a short distance away. The Creator swung his arm towards the blast of flames, dispersing the flames and failing to hit anything as his hand passed harmlessly through the flames. He jumped away as flames burst through where he stood before, again without any sign of Kesshō.

He swung his arm to his side, sending a golden slash in that direction. The slash collided with a burst of flames that appeared in that direction from below, attracting his attention as he wondered whether it hit her or a facade. As he turned he glimpsed a glow of flames out of the corner of his eye, turning back and raising his arms in front of himself. The flames dispersed as they hit bis body, again without any sign of Kesshō. He turned his head to the side as he glimpsed a strand of pink hair, stumbling to the other side as he felt searing pain at the side of his chest.

"I win." Kesshō mumbled as she pointed her katana at his neck.

"Not yet." The Creator grunted as he grabbed the katana, tugging it and slamming her into the ground, destroying the path and causing both to fall alongside the debris.

"Thirteenth form: Destructive Moon Swirls." Kesshō mumbled as she swung her katana, moon blades blasting through the debris, dispersing into a burst of energy right after and causing a series of explosions.

The Creator collided with the wall as Kesshō fell down to the path of the floor below, landing on her feet. She shook her head, most of her body injured and bleeding. Noticing the ground near her light up she stepped to the side, a blast of golden light landing where she stood, bouncing off the path and hitting her in the chest. The light wrapped around her, pulling her upwards all of a sudden, causing her grip to loosen on the katana.

The light wrapped around Kesshō disappeared as The Creator opened his palm, an orb of golden light forming in it. He flung the orb towards Kesshō before she could move, causing an explosion and sending her back down. She fell back on the path below, laying down on her back. Kesshō rolled to the side as The Creator dropped down, bursting through the path, grabbing the hood of her coat as he fell. He slammed her on the path as he landed on it, kicking her into the wall and sending her through it, the tower behind it being different.

Rain fell on the ground, the paths being covered in grass, the walls being even longer than the ones before. Kesshō lay on the grassy ground as The Creator walked through the hole, stopping some distance, waiting for her to get back up. Kesshō looked up as the rain fell on her face, the origin point of the rain out of sight. A strong wind started blowing a few moments later, flinging the raindrops slightly to the sides.

"Do you believe manipulating the air pressure is going to help you win here?" The Creator questioned.

"The fight should've ended." Kesshō mumbled as she pushed herself to her feet, her hair covering most of her face, rainwater flowing off them and her face.

"I am still capable of fighting." The Creator reminded as an orb of golden light formed in his hand.

"It's supposed to be a fair fight, I landed a fatal blow on you," Kesshō mumbled.

"A fight ends when one of the two dies or submits," The Creator informed.

"That is a death match, I don't like those, a fight without death is better," Kesshō grunted.

"Are you forgetting how many you have killed?" The Creator inquired.

"I killed them either because they wished to kill, or they fought so that they can finally die and be freed," Kesshō mumbled.

"The world forgets about the reasons behind someone's actions, everyone only sees the results in the end, and that is you having killed millions," The Creator sighed.

"You should also listen to your own words." Kesshō replied, clutching her head.

"The world would be a far better place once my plans have succeeded, and for doing such I need you, and I also need your 'master' to be dead," The Creator informed.

"What do you mean?" Kesshō questioned, glaring at her him, her left eye shining from between her fingers.

"Have you not wondered why he hasn't been helping you for some time now?" The Creator questioned with a chuckle. "Construct: Empress." He raised his hand in front of him as Kesshō's pupils narrowed at him, a dark figure similar to the previous one forming in front of him, shorter in height with longer hair, four wings on its back, and nine tendrils laying on the ground behind it.

As the dark figure took a step forward, it stumbled forwards, barely managing to not fall, a katana protruding from the back of its head, the blade and handle both completely black in color. Kesshō's eyes widened as she recognised the katana, looking in the direction it came from to ascertain her doubts.

Kurai stood by the wall, having just entered from the hole left behind by The Creator. His body seemed to be covered in blood, a stream of it flowing from his forehead and arm as he breathed heavily. The Creator also turned towards him, seemingly surprised that he is alive.

"It would have been a pleasure to see you again in the afterlife, but it is not while you live," The Creator mumbled.

"Kesshō, you are free to use that, you won't get a better chance than this to try it out." Kurai advised, coughing blood between his words.

"Seems like you still wish to continue meddling in my affairs." The Creator mumbled as the construct turned towards Kurai, it's katana pointed at him.

"You shouldn't turn your back on the enemy." Kurai laughed as he backed away.

The Creator turned around, staring right into the blade of a katana, inches away from his face. The katana deflected to the side, parried away by the Construct as The Creator stepped back. The Construct and Kesshō clashed their swords, both of them proving to have equal strength. The Construct pulled back from the clash, allowing Kesshō to do the same, both of them taking a few steps back, Kesshō's jaws clenched as her eyes focused on the Construct.

Kesshō glanced at The Creator, her eyes pupils narrowed at him for a moment before returning to the Construct. The Creator raised his hand to the side, barely blocking a punch from Kurai, being pushed to the side from the force of the impact. Kurai kicked at The Creator's face, knocking his head backwards before driving it into the ground with another punch. Using the force of the hit, The Creator swung his leg upwards, kicking Kurai on the side of his head, knocking him to the side as he fell to the ground.

"Seems that I will have to deal with you myself." The Creator grunted as he jumped back to his feet before Kurai could recover from the previous hit.

Kesshō parried an attack from the Construct, kicking it to the side and attempting to go help, only to trip and fall. The construct tugged on her leg with its tails, flinging her away into the distance. Kesshō landed on the path, damaging it as she bounced off multiple times. Gripping the handle of her katana with both hands she drew in a breath, noticing the blue-pink flames of the construct flying towards her through the air.

Tsuki Kenjutsu, twenty-second form: Piercing Moonlight.

Stepping forwards Kesshō thrust her katana forwards, a moonblade enveloping it, giving the tip a conical shape. The construct brought it's katana downwards, slamming it into Kesshō's and knocking it downwards. Stepping further ahead while turning, Kesshō spun on her feet, withdrawing her katana before thrusting it upwards as the construct fell downwards, stabbing it through the head.

Bringing the katana to the side Kesshō nearly cut it's head in half, stepping away after inflicting the damage, stopping just after one step as blood trickled on her feet. She stared into the construct's blank face as it looked at her, twisting it's katana to the side, dealing more pain as it lodged itself deeper and damaged more of her abdomen.

Raising her katana to the side of her head Kesshō stabbed it through the construct's chest, igniting it and the construct. Releasing it's katana, the construct slammed its palm into Kesshō's chin, knocking her head backwards, causing her to lose grip on her katana. The construct stepped further in, driving both of its hands into Kesshō's abdomen, striking it's katana through her body and knocking her away.

The Construct removed her katana from its chest, walking towards her as it weighed the katana, getting a better hold of it. Kesshō remained laying on the ground as the construct stood in front of her, the katana raised in the air, prepared to stab her.
