The students were ordered to gather in the class at midday. The school building possessed dorms on two sides, one for males and one for females. The main part of the stronghold was turned into the main school building. The class the students were supposed to enter looked very much like that of an ordinary school, however, if one looked closely they could see the walls, and how the walls suggested it used to be a room for meetings, which is weird as according to what the demons know the being that built this fortress never made any allies.
Chairs and tables were arranged in the room for the students, but the marks of a big table in the center could still be seen. Many of the students noticed all of this but decided to not say anything. The students all arrived on time but the teachers were still nowhere to be found.
"Isn't it a little irresponsible to leave them unsupervised like that?" Rosalyne wondered.
The teachers were in another room observing the students from a distance with the help of a spell.
"This is also a test." The Headmaster informed in deep thought.
"A test for what?" Burns questioned, wondering how leaving them unsupervised could be a test.
"What they do when they are left alone is what I am curious about," The Headmaster whispered. The dark figure didn't seem to have turned, but Burns and Rosalyne were able to feel shiver down their spine. "It seems like some of them have already figured out they are under surveillance".
In the room the students were wondering why the teachers were late. Most of them already figured there would be a test as soon as they got here, and thus, they were prepared. They were all quietly brooding, none willing to lose to the others, all of them assessing potential allies and enemies.
A young Ice Wyvern girl attempted starting a conversation with the Dark Wyvern boy sitting next to her. "Hello, I am Snow, what is your name"?
The girl was quite petite in build, wearing a white coat with a white dress underneath, light blue flower and vine patterns marked across it. Her hair hung behind her, white just like a sheet of snow, and her eyes were blue, like a sheet of ice over water.
The dark wyvern didn't respond to her question. Most dragons would start a fight over such discourtesy, but she didn't and decided to simply keep staring till he answered. The dark wyvern finally gave up after a short while and answered in a low voice. "Alan."
"That's a really nice name. So, were you selected by a general or the demon king himself." She again stared at him waiting for an answer. When he still didn't answer for a while she decided to slowly move towards him while staring at him.
He wore a black long coat with black clothes, lined with a shade of blue nearly as dark as black, his eyes also being dark blue in color. His good physique suggested decent strength and agility, and being a dragon suggested good magical capabilities. He gently pushed her back when she got too close, but she could tell that he was very strong.
"She is a smart one," Rosalyne observed. On hearing this the dark figure of the Headmaster seemed to have turned ever so slightly.
"How is she smart, she seems like a little kid." Burns interjected, cutting off Rosalyne before she could say anything else.
This time, the Headmaster's head very clearly turned, not slightly, but completely. Burns could feel the headmaster's cold glare and shuddered under it.
"The girl is attempting to find allies," Rosalyne continued. "She is trying to get someone of a similar species first, her goal here is to get others on her side to protect her."
"You are half right." The Headmaster agreed, praising Rosalyne's deduction skills. "She isn't finding allies to protect her however, she doesn't need them to."
"Why? She doesn't really seem all that strong," Rosalyne wondered.
"You see, I wouldn't call someone who froze an entire lake at the age four weak, certainly not when the lake is still frozen." The Headmaster whispered.
That statement shocked the two. They already knew looks could be deceiving, but not to this extent. The girl wasn't really big, around 164cm in height with a slender build. She looked like she would think twice about killing a mosquito, and did not even seem to have the strength to defeat low level monsters.
"The ally she is going for is not the smartest option though," Burns stated. "Dark Wyverns are the weakest species of dragons, why would she go for a Dark Wyvern when there are so many stronger options."

"Have you not been observing him this entire time?" The Headmaster questioned, turning towards the dark wyvern. "He was the first one to figure out they were being watched, he has been observing everyone since he got here, and is not answering the girl's questions to make her think he is uninterested and make her leave. The reason to answer the questions is because he could also use some allies, and he can decide whether to choose her or not from her questions and answers."
Back in the room many others also started looking for allies and trying to form groups. The Black Dragon, Obsidian, was the one many tried to get along with, but he only kept those he thought will be useful and sent the others away.
By now a few groups formed, the first group including Obsidian, a female phoenix, a male orc, the wraith and a male high-class demon. The second one included, from the looks of it, three wyvern brothers and a caster spirit. The third group seemed an odd bunch, it included an orc, a slime, a storm wolf, an earth dragon and an arachnid. There were still a few who weren't a part of a group, including Snow and Alan, also a blood wolf girl.
The name blood wolves is quite misleading however, it sounds like they are vicious beasts, when in reality, blood wolves are peaceful and rarely ever attack even when provoked. They are also awfully weak and can easily be killed by even a low-level adventurer. Their name is actually from the color of their fur, which is usually blood red, sometimes however, it could be pink.
"It looks like everyone is forming groups, do you want to form a group with me?" Snow questioned her ally who seemed to have been staring at the blood wolf for a while now.
"I don't mind, but just two people aren't a group," Alan responded. He only said as much, but it was obvious what he meant. No one else would be willing to have a blood wolf in their team as they are peaceful and don't attack anything. Snow could tell that he wanted her to go and recruit the blood wolf if she wanted to form a group. As to why, she did not know, but did not question either.
She went and sat down next to the blood wolf, trying to look harmless as blood wolves are jumpy and flee from any sort of threat. "Hello, do you want to join my group?" She offered in a sweet voice.
The blood wolf girl's hair was pink, as well as her eyes. She was dainty, no taller than 135cm. There were two wolf ears on the top of her head, accounting for about 10cm of her height. They were the same color as her hair on the outside, and white on the inside with a hint of pink.
The girl looked up and stared in Snow's eyes for a while before nodding. Everyone was taught the 'humanoid' skill so they would ook somewhat alike at the academy, and more approachable. From this interaction Snow felt certain the blood wolf girl didn't master the skill. The skill doesn't has anything to do with how strong they are, it simply grants them the ability to speak and look like a human. Snow figured the girl didn't master the speaking part, the reason to her remaining quiet She still didn't change her mind and asked the girl to follow, not being to speak not seeming like a hindrance in the slightest.
She went back to Alan with a smug face, pleased at her success. He looked at her and pointed behind her. She turned back and saw the blood wolf girl, still sitting at the same place. Snow again went back and told the girl to follow. When she still didn't get up Snow chose to pick her up herself and carried her to Alan. The girl was extremely light, as if she didn't weigh anything at all. This made one thing clear to Snow, which she didn't want anyone else to realize so she pretended like the girl was fairly heavy.
She sat the girl down at a chair and sat down on another one near Alan. All of them were quiet for a while, Alan looking back and forth between the girl and Obsidian. Snow also looked around to see what everyone was doing. Just as Snow was about to say something she heard footsteps and a heavy aura getting closer. It was clear that aura belonged to Obsidian, the only one who made no effort to suppress it.
Obsidian came to stand near the blood wolf girl and offered to her, what seemed more like a command. "I want you to join my group, come with me." Snow got up and stood between the two just as Obsidian reached for the girl's arm. Alan didn't move, continuing to quietly watch. Suddenly the girl stood up, ready to follow Obsidian from the looks of it. From the girl's behavior Snow started to wonder if Obsidian used a mind control spell, but she didn't sense any spells being used except the one the teachers were using to observe them.
Obsidian pushed Snow aside, which looked like a gentle push but flung her over a table with ease, causing her head to hit another table. She still tried to get up, pushing herself quickly. Obsidian grabbed the girl's hand and just as he was about to leave, Alan grabbed his hand.
"Since when does a lowly Dark Wyvern like you get to touch me?!" He cried out in rage and swung his arm to knock Alan out, but he grabbed it. Obsidian left the girl's hand, grabbing Alan by his coat, and threw him towards a wall. His head smashed against the wall, and he lied down by the wall. Obsidian turned back towards the girl to leave. In that instant, Alan somehow reached right next to Obsidian and punched him in the stomach with a charged attack, flinging him to a wall. Alan bled from his head because of the impact from the wall, but did not seem bothered by it in the slightest.
The user channels a large of amount of their power into a specific body part or weapon to perform a charged attack. They are extremely powerful, hundreds to thousands of times more powerful than a normal attack depending on the amount of energy channeled. They are extremely hard to learn too however.
"Stop, the two of you." Rosalyne ordered from the door of the class. Rosalyne and Burns were sent to stop the fight before one of the two killed the other.
Obsidian didn't attack but the anger could be seen clearly in his eyes. Everyone was ordered to go back to their rooms or teammate's room, in case they needed to discuss anything. Snow offered the two to come to her room and Alan didn't object, and the blood wolf girl remained silent. This time however, Snow didn't have to pick up the girl and she followed by herself, quietly trotting right beside Snow.
