Sum Ting Wong's story started at 7 a.m in the morning. He was laying in his bed. His stomach rumbled unpleasantly and he slowly opened his eyes.

Still half-asleep, Wong groaned, freeing his hand just enough to naturally swipe at the blue box in front of his face as he cracked his eyes open.
"Weird dream."
It was not as if he had played that much video game to deserve that kind of dream either. Last night, he just spent a few hours of his time playing a new mobile phone game before he went to bed, which he already planned to delete thanks to unbalanced pvp. In any case, he thought his brain wasn't creative enough to have that kind of dream.
But almost as soon as the box disappeared, another appeared, obscuring the unfamiliar wooden ceiling above him.
You have 2 unspent CP, and 1 unspent SP, would you like to assign these points?
"What the hell?!"
Wong jerked forwards, pulling his 172cm frame into a sitting position as he swept his unkempt wavy black hair out of his eyes to stare at the taunting blue message.
"Err... This can't be real, I mean, sure it's real, but it can’t be. I must be still dreaming, things like this didn't happen in real life."
It was almost like a window in a touchscreen which made zero sense, since there was no tablet in front of him. And even there was one, he sure as hell it wouldn't be floating around like this. And he knew this wasn't a prank from his friend.... as he had no zero friends.
Wong was hugging his head as he was trying to convince himself this was just a dream. However, considering the rather realistic aches and pains that encompassed his body after packing up all of those brown boxes from yesterday, it was really not a dream.
"But... this... this is impossible."
When Wong reached his finger out, attempting to touch the screen itself and for a moment, nothing happened until he moved his hand when the screen seemed to 'stick' to it, swinging with his hand. He could even feel how the screen had a slight tactile sensation to it, like touching plastic wrap stretched too tight except with the added tingle of static electricity.
Wong stared at his hand and the window and then flicked it away watching the window shrunk.
Wait a minute?! There's no way that's happening?!
Wong gasped. From out of nowhere he remembered a particular web novel that he had read where the protagonist received those floating blue screens in their sleep, and when they woke up the world had already overrun by the monster.
Wong jumped out from his bed and ran straight to the window. One small part of him actually hoped there was a group of a small and green humanoid creature walking down on the street. Hence, he didn't need to pay this month rent.
As Wong formulated a survival strategy, such whether or not he should stay in his apartment, what should he do with the food supply, was there anything that he could use in his apartment as a weapon and many more, he nervously slid the curtain open.
The warm ball of light shone through the window, rays of brightness lying on the tiled floor like sweet honey, reflecting onto several objects in the room which decorated its otherwise simplicity. Wong blinked a few times, in an attempt to help his eyes adjust to the illumination directed right at his figure.
Tsk...
Wong barely believed his eyes when he saw a lovey-dovey couple happily rode their couple bike on the side street, and a chorus of birds breaks the drone of the city traffic that he could only describe as the perfect morning.
But this perfect morning signified he needed to go to the nearest ATM, grab some money and pay his rent.
With a half relieved and half disappointed sigh, while thinking how stupid he was for getting worked up like that Wong lazily walked back into his bed, where he let the gravity did its job and fell back to his bed.

He had planned to go back to his parent house sometimes in this month and already packed everything. Without anything else to do, Wong started opening his Menu, browsing through things, trying to see what he could find to humour him.
There were five options on the menu: Attributes, Skills, Class, Quest, and Companion.
Both Quest and Companion were crossed out, and Wong already knew what Attributes were, so he clicked on Skills.
A new menu opened up that showed Wong the 3 skills he had available, as well as numbers next to them. Animal Handling was currently at 2, while Stealth and Running were 1. At the top right, there was SP: 1, which made Wong believed that SP stood for skill points or something like that.
Wong raised his eyebrow, wondering how the hell he received Stealth and Running as his skill. As for Animal Handling, he more or less already knew the reason, but that was a story for another time.
With a big yawn, without thinking too much Wong nonchalantly clicked on Stealth, which then rose to 2. And another screen appeared.
Congratulations! You have earned 1 AP.
Sure enough, when Wong switched over to his Attributes Screen, his AP that was previously 0 had been increased to 1.
But then what?
This time, Wong scanned the whole screen seriously. There were many Attributes but there was no real information available to him, although they all seemed self-explanatory.
"Ah... right."
Struck by an idea, he pressed on Intelligence, not on the number but right on the word 'Intelligence' hoping it would show him some sort of pop up information.
But...

When Wong did that, his AP got reduced to 0 and his Intelligence rose to 7. He also noticed that his Mana Regeneration per Hour went up by 0.7 and Max Mana went to 56, which, he supposed, was pretty good? But the real question was...
"....What the hell? Shouldn't the screen give me some kind of confirmation request before I do this?"
Wong had already wondered about that when he clicked on Stealth, it seemed whoever created this status screen didn't do a good job at it.
Shaking his head, he Wong that thought to the side. There was no use for complaining over something that had happened. Not to mention there was no customer service where he could send his complaint either. Instead, he went back to his menu and clicked on Class menu:
Please choose one of the following class:
1. Assassin
2. Hunter
3. Horse Rider
4. Monk
5. Pyromancer
6. Cook
7. Villager
8. Fisherman
Sure enough, another screen appeared and Wong was viewing the list, but...
Scratching his head, Wong thought the options didn't make any sense at all.
For starter, what was the point of becoming an Assassin? Of course, compared to other classes it seemed to be the strongest, but was there any reason for him to become Assassin? He didn't have anyone he wanted to kill, nor he had an enemy.
Then what about becoming a contract killer? That should be enough to resolve Wong's money problem. Thankfully enough, he didn't have any connection or knew someone that needed an Assassination service, and without any consumer, that meant he wouldn't get a single penny. Not to mention, there was no way he could put a brochure on the street, written with 'Professional Assassin!! Please call 555-xxx-123 for my service! 100% guaranteed kill!'
Yep, Assassin was a bad choice but how about Hunter?
At first, Wong thought this was a good idea. But thanks to the increase in his intelligence, he stopped his finger just before it touched the screen and asked to himself how the hell he could afford a gun if he didn't have enough money to fill something in his empty fridge?
Horse Rider?
Same reason as above.
Monk?
Was there any guarantee he wouldn't lose his hair?
Pyromancer?
The only thing that crossed Wong's mind was that he would appear on television, either because he went into a talent show or accidentally became a pyromaniac.
Villager?
He thought he couldn't maximize the class potential in the middle of Brooklyn.
Feeling another unpleasant rumbling on his stomach, with only two options left Wong shrugged his shoulder and clicked on...
Congratulations! You have become a Cook 1!

This was what Wong decided, Cook... And there was no confirmation menu.
When picking his Class, Wong asked himself, what was the most important thing in this world? And thanks to his rumbling stomach, the answer he came up with was everyone needed to eat.
And by picking a Cook as his class, he should, more or less, can make a decent meal. And that meant he could either work in a restaurant or make his own catering service, hence his income should've increased, and thus, he didn't need to go home, at least if he could make enough money for this month.
Of course, The thought of becoming a man of the sea had crossed Wong's mind, but from his experience, he knew he didn't have enough patience to sit a whole day while waiting for a fish to bite the bait, not to mention the seasickness.
Anyway, another thunderous rumbling came from his stomach. Clenching his stomach, Wong took a last look on his Class Menu, his CP was decreased to 1. Maybe he could use the remaining 1 CP to increase the level more? But...
"This is not a dream, right?" Wong tilted his head, speaking alone accompanied by the sound of his rumbling stomach like a choir. After all, if it was too good to be true, something was definitely wrong.
