Power flowed through his body and he was eager to go and find the lich's next minion, but he had to restrain himself. With the state he was in, he needed rest. Not to mention the new notifications that had appeared and the Titles he had to check out.
Collecting his axe, which had finished consuming the bones of the bear, he returned to his carved out sanctuary. There, he sat cross legged against the wall with his axe across his lap and began to sort out his gains. First, he started with the Titles he had earned, wanting to catch up to where he'd been before picking his Class before checking out anything on top of that he'd gained. With a thought, he pulled up the first.
[Power Beyond Limits
Epic Title
+25% Raw Force generated from physical actions]
His eyes widened at the text. An epic Title from the clash with the bear, and likely another due to the name of the other one he'd earned. He read the effect and excitedly tried it out, lightly throwing his axe into the air. Despite him only using enough for it to lift up to his head, it clattered against the low ceiling of his temporary abode. This was going to be useful.
[Control Beyond Limits
Epic Title
+25% Control over physical actions]
This would be harder to measure than the other but he was sure it would be just as useful. The two Titles synergized well with each other, with this one allowing him to keep up with the increase of the other. After all, he had barely controlled one of his full powered strikes. If he had to wrestle with one that was 25% stronger without the boost to his Control then there could be consequences.
[Spiritual Conduit
Legendary Title
+50% effect of merged Spirits]
So Legendary was what was above Epic and it gave a 50% increase, something he had yet to see until now. He had thought, with Planetary Unique Titles giving 25%, that Legendary Titles would give him an effective Tier to something but he had assumed wrong. Still, he was overjoyed. This Title improves what was sure to become one of his most powerful abilities, directly giving half again the Levels he earned for his core Power. Now more than ever, he couldn't wait to see the bonuses he got from being merged with his [Spirit of Death].
[Undead Slayer
Rare Title
+10% damage against Undead]
This was the least exciting of his Titles, only being Rare, but it was still immensely useful for his current situation. Down in the catacombs, this might as well be a flat +10% to damage, which would be especially potent if it was multiplicative with his other bonuses. Unfortunately, he lacked the means to test or find out about that, but it was definitely at a decent place on his priority list for when he got back to civilization.
Done checking the gains from the notifications he had already earned, he opened the new ones that had been demanding his attention at the corner of his vision.
[For being the first person in your world to take an Epic Class you have earned the Title: Epic Progenitor]
Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author's consent. Report any sightings.
Another Progenitor Title? He was almost tempted to open it to see the effects right then and there, but he had allowed himself to fall into a pattern every time he did this, and he was going to stick to that.
[For mentally visiting your Lifeforce Pool you have earned the Title: Inward Focus]
Yet another Title? This one didn't sound as powerful as the rest but every bit helped in a fight for your life, and how he earned this one showed him more about the possibile Titles out there.
[You have merged with your bound Spirit of Death]
This was his last new notification, confirming something he already knew. With new Titles to read over, he opened the first.
[Epic Progenitor
Planetary Unique
+25% Leveling Speed
+1 to effective rarity of Class Trait]
Liam sucked in a sharp breath, Titles could do that? The Leveling Speed would be amazing but that boost to his Trait Rarity was something he never expected. Curiously, he willed open the Trait's description.
[Merged Spirits
Epic -> Legendary Trait
Refreshing at Dawn, you may house up to one -> two Active Spirits in your body to channel their Power at quarter -> half strength constantly -NEW- and gain additional effects based on their Tier Bonuses. You may then draw upon the Spirits at full Power a number of times equal to their Levels for free each day, stacking on top of the passive effects. -NEW- Having one or both of the Spirits Active counts as one towards your Active Spirit Limit]
That was... much more powerful than it had been. And with the bonus from his Legendary Title he would be getting three quarters of the benefits of his [Spirit of Death] permanently. He opened the description for the Spirit he had merged and read it over.
[Merged Spirit of Death
You may use your [Spirit of Death] Power up to 6 times per day, with no Lifeforce cost, resetting at Dawn
+45% damage
Tier 1: 45% physical resistance]
It was even more powerful than he had imagined. 6 free uses of his most powerful buff were enough for him to be overjoyed, but the permanent 45% bonus to damage would allow him to carve through anything he had encountered so far easily. If he had this from the start then nothing would've been able to stop him. On top of that, it said it provided him resistance to almost half the Physical Damage that he would take. Hopefully that would allow him some Levels where he didn't have to pump everything into Vitality to survive.
[Inward Focus
Common Title
+1 Lifeforce]
It wasn't a game changer, but any of the limited resource was more than welcome, especially for when he got more Spirits.
Overall, he was more than happy with what he'd earned. His combat prowess had just taken a qualitative step forwards. The bear would be almost no threat compared to how it had been to the him before the fight but he also felt that he had scooped up most of the Titles he was going to earn for a while now and his main growth would come through Levels and the extra Attributes they would now provide. He was worried about that, as he would now passively gain Willpower as he Levelled Up, but it wasn't something he could avoid anymore. He needed the Levels to survive and he would just have to hope that the System messing with his mind wouldn't change him as a person.
He opened his Status to see all the changes brought together, and smiled as he read through it.

He was ready to take on whatever came next. The lich wouldn't know what hit it.
