Undead city-Altraud
Inside the dungeon of shadows
On top of a large mountain, Maya and Peter sat around a corner and saw arrows rushing toward Arya while emitting a swishing sound. As the arrows neared her, Arya used
As soon as the spar was over, Peter rolled towards Arya. "Teacher, are you alright?" he inquired while observing her wounds closing.
Arya nodded. "Yes, I'm fine. Just a bit tired."
While Peter was inquiring about her safety, Maya moved towards Ervin and patted him on the back.
"Is it just me, or did your aim improve?" she asked.
"Yes, my aim improved. My best guess is it's due to the mutation," he answered while collecting the arrows he had fired. Most were fine, but a few arrowheads were damaged and in need of repair.
"Ugh, I need better arrows."
"That you do," Maya agreed, then gestured towards Arthur, who was observing their spar from a distance along with the black panther and its subordinates.
"I'm going to bug him and get new equipment. Join me," she said with a grin and then sprinted towards Arthur without even bothering to hear his response.
Ervin could only sigh and follow behind her.
Arthur saw them approach and waved at them. "Nice spar, you improved a lot," he congratulated Ervin. Turning towards Maya, he found her hugging the large cat and measuring the length of its tail. "What do you want?" he asked with an exasperated sigh.
Maya pointed towards Ervin's arrows. "He can't just use those weak arrows forever. Stop being stingy and give him better equipment," she asserted.
After seeing the state of those arrows, Arthur offered to provide him with some stronger ones.
While they were talking about all that, the undead bird Peco landed at the centre of the mutation circle and dropped a large wooden box on the ground.
“Guys gather around, I brought the scrolls,” she informed them as the group of undead and Arya gathered around.
Maya hurriedly opened the box and took out the scrolls. Each scroll had a name attached to it, and there were a total of 12 different scrolls.
While they were reading the scroll names, Arthur strolled over and sat across the mutation circle.

“Go ahead and choose the skills you want. A proper skill can improve your fighting style a lot. If you have any confusion in choosing the skill, then just come to me for advice,” he said and turned towards Ervin.
“As for you, your mutation already enhanced your senses, so the only thing you need is stronger arrows. I will talk to Jack and arrange those for you,” he suggested, and Ervin nodded in understanding.
With that done, he waited for the others to choose their skills.
Peter was the first to choose. He rolled over and rummaged through the scrolls.
All the skills related to drain affinity sounded good to him, but three particular skills caught his interest. The skills were:
Type: Support
The skill, once used, drains the opponent's strength and gifts 1/4th of it to the user. It can be used three times on the same opponent. The user can gain strength for a total of four times, even if the skill is used against multiple opponents.
Range: 10m (can increase with practice)
For example: If an undead uses the skill against a vampire, then the vampire loses half of its strength, and the undead gains a small boost to its strength.
Type: Support
The skill, once used, shares the boost the user has received with their teammates. It can share the boost with three teammates at a time. It can share a total of two different boosts at a time with their teammates.
Range: 10m (can increase with practice)
For example: If an undead had gained a strength boost and a speed boost, then the undead can share those boosts with three of its teammates.
Type: Defense
The skill is used to deflect any long-range attacks directed at the user. The skill will not work if the opponent's strength is three times more than the user's.
For example: If an arrow is used to attack an undead, then by using the skill, the undead can easily deflect the arrow and remain unharmed.
After Peter finished choosing, he pushed the scrolls toward Arthur for his opinion. Arthur reviewed his choices and though they were all great skills, he noticed one glaring weakness.
“You didn't choose any attack skills? Even if you want to play a support role, having at least one attack-type skill is a must,” Arthur explained, then handed him the
Type: Attack
The skill, once used, fires a laser-like ray of energy to damage the opponent.
Range: 20m (can increase with practice)
Peter nodded and tore all four skill scrolls with the help of his teeth. Instantly, the energy within the scrolls rushed towards the large rhomboid crystal on his skill, and four magic circles appeared in it.
Peter jumped for joy and hopped towards Arya to brag about his new skills.
Maya shook her head at his antics and went ahead to choose her skill. After much consideration, she settled on the following skills:
and
After that, she turned to Arthur, “Hey old bones, I don't like this
An invisible vein pulsed on Arthur's head as he heard her complaints. In one smooth motion, he snatched all her skill scrolls and threw them into her mouth.
The scrolls disappeared in her mouth, and three magic circles appeared in her newly formed heart. She screamed at him for his behaviour, but Arthur just laughed it off and turned towards Arya.
“You asked me to be your teacher right? Meet me in the outer city's white grave and I will teach you ways to create a special affinity skill” he informed her and then used a return crystal to exit the dungeon.

At the edge of the human camp,
In the dead of night, as the cold wind swept through the human camp, five prominent figures gathered in a remote tent around a round table, illuminated by the dim light of a candle. They were:
the captain of the human camp, Blaze;
the chief of Vampire City, known as Duncanville, Selena;
the chief intellect and researcher, Tople;
the head of Mammon City's royal guard, Liam;
and the third son of Mammon City's chief, Hendry Mannom.
They had gathered in the tent for one singular purpose: to start a war against Altraud.
Blaze sat at one end of the table and eyed the map of the dark continent displayed before them. They whispered among themselves, exchanging ideas to devise a strategy for the impending attack on Altraud.
After extensive discussion and planning they arrived at a satisfactory plan of action. Rising from his seat with a huge smile, Blaze announced, “We are going to attack the city by crossing this forest. The battle will happen in 7 days,” while pointing towards a large forest to the north of Altraud.
“As long as there are no reinforcements, we will crush Altraud,” he declared and turned towards the Vampire sitting across from him.
Selena felt his gaze on her and looked up.
She had black hair, red eyes, and pointed ears characteristic of all Vampires, but her skin was too pale, even by vampire standards. Two attendants stood behind her, vigilantly eyeing the other members of the tent.
“I can stop any reinforcements arriving from vampire territory for a day. I hope you are competent enough to finish the war by then,” she said with a smirk, and with that, the war preparations finally began.
After ironing out the details a bit more, the group sneakily exited the tent. After their departure, Blaze returned to his tent while thinking ‘This time nobody can stop me from killing those accused creatures’
