Thunk—!
[10 Experience Received]
“That’s the last goblin in this wave!” I exclaimed as I reached down to the dead goblin and pulled a knife out of its throat.
-Weapon(s)
Goblin’s Knife:
The knife is made of stainless steel from a master blacksmith in the Dwarven Kingdom. After a goblin killed the owner, the knife has been misused and is now in poor condition.
-No effects
-Common Rarity
Rusty Starter Sword:
Very rusty.
-No effects
-Common Rarity
“My weapons aren’t that good….” I sighed and dejectedly looked at my two weapons.
The knife I got from one of the goblins is easier to use than the short sword, and it’s pretty much the best I can get in this tutorial area. So I have to make do.
But other than a disappointing weapon drop. I have managed to level up to four in the first wave. And yes, I spend the points on Agility. Though, killing only nineteen goblins in this wave surprised me a little.
I’m not weak. It’s just that the other players have been killing goblins too. They adapted faster than I gave them credit for. So I wasn’t able to kill more.
But at this point, it doesn’t really matter if I kill any more goblins. There is a cap on how much experience you can get in specific zones, and this tutorial just so happens to be between level one to five. So the amount of experience per goblin death will dwindle the more levels there are between me and the zone.
“So I need to progress fast so I can get to another zone—”
Ding—!
-System: Monster wave 1/5 cleared.
“But first. Kill all the remaining goblins!” Preparing my weapons, I grinned wickedly at all the death I would soon bring the goblins.
----------------------------------------
-System: Monster wave 4/5 cleared.
“Huh…. Only one monster wave left!” I panted while bending over my knees.
I should have exercised a bit more before getting a rebirth.
“Status Window!” I said aloud before thinking about my declining self-worth and concentrating on beating the last wave.

Despite killing way over a hundred goblins, I only got to level seven… Though it’s over double as many levels as my previous attempt at the tutorial. So in that regard, it has been quite successful so far.
I feel a little bad for the other players. I thought about how much monopoly I have taken on the goblins. And since I have killed the majority, not much experience could have gotten to the other players.
Though the survival rate in this tutorial compared to the previous ones are much higher. Eventually, the people who will get out to the real world will be much weaker and die much faster. Not my problem, just saying.
However, I feel like I should have let the natural selection take place instead of storming through the tutorial like a mad man killing everything on sight.
But it is what it is. I grinned as I went through a sizable crowd of people.
Why is everyone gathered here, though? Questioned as I pushed my way through the people. It came as a shock since it didn’t make sense.
This is the main road, so why have people gathered at the place where the waves spawn? Do they have a death wish?
I reached my way to the front, and my questions got quickly answered.
“Has everybody gathered?!” A handsome, blonde-haired, and tall man stood on a tree stump, yelling to get the attention of all who had gathered.
“Okay! As you all probably know by now, many people have died to these monsters. And we still don’t know what’s going on and why we are here. So I, with my strength, have decided to protect everybody who can’t do it themselves.” He boasted with his so-called strength, puffing his chest out proudly.
Oh, he is that kind of person, I thought, looking at the presumptuous man with no respect.
Unfortunately, I don’t have time to stand still and hear his speech. You kill a few weak goblins, and you become so arrogant. I can’t wait to see his face when the next wave comes.
“Haha!” I laughed as I went past him. It abruptly stopped his speech, and he began looking at me. I could see the expanding anger in his eyes after I belittled him.
“Who do you think you are? Can’t you see I’m trying to help everyone here?” he yells in a whisper to me as he steps down from the tree stump he stands on. Continuing to whisper, he came all the way to my face in a threatening manner.
“Well, all I can see is an arrogant wanker. So pardon me not wanting to listen to your pretentious speech.” I respond in a low voice as well. And putting my hand on his shoulder, I whisper directly into his ear, “mate, you better sit down or…” I use my strength to squeeze his shoulder as I talk in a threatening tone.
“Uhm…” He can’t quite get words out, and he freezes still after seeing my murderous gaze.
“Good,” I said while I continued to squeeze his shoulder. “I will be on my way. Good luck with the next wave.” Smiling a cocky grin, I let go of his shoulder.
Ding—!
-System: The last wave will now commence. 50/50 goblins and the Goblin General remain.
Here we go! I looked with glimmering eyes at the notification.
This will be fun! I hope the Goblin General will give me a little challenge. Though I think the crowd of people behind me isn’t so happy.
“What’s that Goblin General!” People shrieked in horror after seeing a notification they hadn’t seen before. They all begin to clump together like a pack of penguins.
By now, the people have understood what this world is about and how it mimics a game. So they probably know what it means when the notification says Goblin General. And that is it a boss monster.
A perfect way to end a tutorial—
“We meet again.” Someone said and interrupted me.
“…” I didn’t respond to him and just casually turned around to see who it was. Though by the voice alone, I already have a good idea who it is.
Well, look who we have here. I thought as I smiled at Daeshim and the rest of the group behind him.
“Hello, long time no see.” Responding to him, I turn around again, not bothering to continue a conversation with him.
“Don’t be so cold. We are friends. And it hasn’t really been that long since you saved us.” Making his way towards me, he put his hand on my shoulder. “We will help this time. I don’t think that guy behind us will be of any help.” He laughed at the blonde guy who just a second ago stood on a tree stump bragging about his strength. And now, he shivered like a scared dog.
“Your right. I never took him for someone strong. However, I don’t need any help. I’m plenty strong by myself, and all that experience will go to waste if anyone else kills the goblins.” I pushed his hand away as I walked further up the road.
The last wave has already spawned. We are just way too far down the road to see them—
“Do you have a choice? You are not the only one here who wants to level up.” I look behind me and see Daeshim and his group following behind me. Daeshim continues to speak his case as I notice that the group following me is way bigger than ten people.
“As you can see.” He scouts behind him, and people from the immense gathering have decided to follow the troop. “A lot of others also want this nightmare to end as well.”
“…” Once again, I chose not to respond, and I just kept on walking. But If someone could see my face, they would be surprised to see a big grin.
Will these people actually waste their lives? Not my problem. When they see how strong the goblin General is compared to them, they will regret the fact they followed me into battle.
