A world glowing in yellow.
A world unaffected by time.
It was unknown for how much time Zhen Wang was looking at that same scenery; all that was known to him was that the scenery remained the same.
Zhen Wang couldn´t make reason with the world that surrounded him. His soul had been greatly damaged after all. Because of it, time felt like infinity.
But at the same time, it felt like an instant.
After such infinity of time, a hint of his “self” started to appear.
The feelings of rebellion against what stood in his way, the killing intent against his enemy. The more he came back to clarity, the more he remembered his last moments.
He still wasn´t himself, but he still had his instinct. This was a hint of his personality. It was also his dao. Letting his emotions guide him, he raised his arm and pressed it forward against the yellow wall that was standing in front of him.
The wall was torn apart. What greeted him was a new world.

“Oh, ohh! I can´t believe it! I am finally lucky!” A blonde fairy raised her voice in surprise and happiness.
Her name was Alefyr. She was a violet-eyed wind fairy that lived at the Sohylis greatforest. She had been at the underground of the ancient life tree of Zantierl patrolling. The job consisted of reporting any new buds that sprouted and watching over the already existing ones for when they blossom. Those were fairy buds, which grew at the roots of the ancient tree and were nourished by the rich elemental energy that filled the place until they completed their growth.
“Here, here. Nice to meet you, my cute little fairy.” Said the Alefyr as she embraced the little fairy that fell off her cocoon to her chest.
This was Alefyr´s first time she encountered a just born fairy. It was the custom that the one who found the newborn fairy first had the right to name her and would be on one's care.
This was something Alefyr has always dreamed of. However, she was never lucky. Because the job of patrolling around the underground of the tree to watch for newborn fairies was desired by all fairies, and thus very contested, the fairies would have to take turns in it. At that point, it couldn´t really be called a job anymore.
This time Alefyr finally found what she ever hoped for. She was excited for the future.
The little fairy at her chest opened her eyes and weakly looked at Alefyr.
“What beautiful eyes.”
Those were big shining vermillion eyes. The little fairy continued to look at Alefyr.
“Alright, I will call you Filyir.” Said Alefyr while she stroked the little fairy´s black hair. The little fairy closed her eyes and fell asleep.
“”Hehe, how cute.”” Alefyr thought. “”Now, let´s go greet the great fairy.””
Alefyr headed outside the underground together with Filyir.
Newly born fairies would always receive the blessing of the great fairy. The great fairy Antalias was the leader of the community of the fairies of Sohylis, and was also considered the strongest of the fairies, being rumored that she could put up a fight even to other important figures of the world that were famed for their strength.
“Alefyr, you found one!”
On the way to the surface, Alefyr met with another fairy. The fairy had a brown hair and green eyes.
“Yes, isn´t she cute Nalyn? Look at her sleepy face.” Said Alefyr, holding Filyir to Nalyn´s direction so that she could see Filyir´s face.
“Ah, I wish I could be a bit more lucky. Callae and Rihafon already found their own, and now even you Alefyr!” Nalyn complained to herself. Then, she continued. “So, what name did you give her?”
“Filyir. Her red eyes were beautiful like crystals, so I thought of this name.”
“Oh, then she is a fire fairy? That´s rare. Besides, you really are simple for choosing names, aren´t you? Tsk*” Scolded Nalyn as she was tapping her foot on the ground.
“But… but it´s a fine name? Filyir sounds just fine.” Alefyr answered with a somewhat embarrassed face.
“I woundn´t call my pet “red” if it was red, let alone a fairy.” Nalyn shrugged her shoulders and shook her head.
“But it is in the old fairy language, so it is fine, right? Nobody uses it anymore after all.” Said Alefyr with a sulky face.
“Hah… Well, you are her caretaker, so you decide it. Now, don´t go throw yourself onto my shoulder all depressed if she doesn´t look straight at you anymore once she grows up.” Saying that, she walked past Alefyr, raising her hand up as a sign to say goodbye. “I will be on my way now. I heard the great fairy is going to be busy now on these next few days, so you might want to go report about the new fairy soon to cut the hassle for her.”
“Yes...”Alefyr looked at Nalyn walking away while still keeping her sulky expression. But then, looking at the sleeping Filyir, she smiled. “Let´s go Filyir.”
-------------------
The greatforest of Sohylis was a vast place filled with green and many other colors. The brilliance would hint the high concentration of mana, and the liveliness would hint the peaceful and happy day-to-day life the fairies lived.
It was possible to see a variety of fairies flying around each to different ways. Some were flying by themselves, and some were flying in groups, talking amongst each other. There were some playing with one another on the short grass that was characteristic of the place, playing hide-and-seek; some playing flutes at the top of branches of the many trees there were around, some sleeping on leaves that were stable enough to support them, and on the other hand, some were busy, doing manufacturing work, flying one way to another carrying messages, amoungst other things.
Alefyr took flight while carrying Filyir in her arms. The great fairy was usually at the top of the ancient tree for most of her time, so the fairies would first always go there when they sought for her.
Although the Zantierl was an ancient tree of life, it wasn´t particularly tall. It was very thick for a normal tree, but its height was only slightly more than most trees. There were many trees that would be about as much tall as Zantierl was.
Reaching at the top of the ancient tree, Alefyr´s eyes were greeted with the sight of the great fairy´s palace. The place wasn´t made with any high quality materials. In fact, it was the wood of the tree itself chiseled into the shape. Because of the mana in the tree, the wood would shine, giving it a beautiful gleam and a majestic ambiance to the place. There were some spots that had a spell formation unconspicuously carved on them so that the mana would be redirected into that one place, making it so it would shine brighter in those particular spots, decorating the place and enchanting the outlook even more.
The palace could be said to be divided into two parts. First would be the “court of the fairies”, which was where the great fairy would give her audiences, have meetings, and also where she would bless new fairies. There were large steps carved in the wood that the fairies would use as seats, going down one level each step that was closer to the middle. In the middle, there was a flat floor which the great fairy would usually be standing at when she was at work. Around the edges, there were pillars, in which there were places fairies could also sit at.
The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
Above the court was her residence, which was supported by the wooden pillars. If one could describe it in one word, it would be “magnificent”. Although it was in a smaller size, and although it was carved out of wood, it was possible to say it was in equal standing to the castles of human kings or the giant strongholds built by the demons in terms of grandiosity.
“The great fairy!” After spotting the great fairy, Alefyr immediately exclaimed with her eyes shining.
Alefyr immediately headed to the center of the court the great fairy was standing at. She had silver eyes and silver hair, and was also taller than the other fairies by a head. She was wearing a white dress that made her figure dignified.
Right now, she was in the middle of a discussion with her advisors about the matters of their nation. Even so, Alefyr flew next to her without any hesitations.
Although all fairies greatly respected their great fairy, and although they would also respect those which worked together with her to handle their government, this hierarchy wouldn´t forcefully be imposed. Even if they saw the great fairy as their leader, they could still come up to her and casually talk while standing on equal grounds just as if they were good friends.
Moreover, the great fairy would always give the priority to blessing newborn fairies.
“Gr-great fairy, a new fairy… I mean…”Becoming too excited, Alefyr started stuttering right from the beginning, only then to forget the words she wanted to say, becoming even more flusterred.
“Alefyr, it seems you have finally found one.” The great fairy said with a gentle voice.
“Yes!”
Alefyr carefully handed Filyir to the great fairy. The great fairy brought Filyir close to her chest and carefully looked at her face.
“Have you already decided a name for her, Alefyr?” Asked the great fairy.
“Yes! Her name is Filyir!” Said Alefyr with a joyous tone of voice.
“I see” Said the great fairy as she calmly nodded her head.
“Laetel, please, could you ring the bell.” The great fairy asked a fairy that was standing next to her.
“Yes, great fairy.” That fairy, Laetel, immediately answered and flew to the ceiling of the court. There was a bell made of bronze that was about five times the size of a fairy there at that place.
The sound of the bell resounded throughout the greatforest. It was a magical and mesmerizing sound that gently reverberated. It wasn´t loud, but it could be heard clearly. That bell was used to sign the birth of a new fairy, and also her blessing ceremony. With that, many fairies from all the forest started to gather at the top of the ancient tree of Zantierl.
That scene of the many fairies flying to the ancient tree could be described as otherworldly. It was very fitting for the birth of a new life.
The blessing ceremony was about to begin.
-----------------------------------------------
Slowly opening her eyes, a wooden ceiling met the little fairy´s view.
The walls and the ceiling were clearly wood that was chiseled roughly into the shape of what a room would be. The room was clearly made inside a tree. At the top corner was a glowing object that had a big leaf covering it. It wasn´t possible to identify the object because of the leaf that blocked her from seeing it, but it was clear how strong the brightness produced was due to how the light still kept its white yellowish color despite how the color of the leaf would give it a green tone. Even without the light, the walls were glowing in a blueish color like many tiny dots of light, though only faintly, accumulated in only some places on the wall.
The little fairy looked at her two hands. They were delicate small hands; hands the little fairy wasn´t used to having. Using those two hands as support, she sluggishly rose up, sitting down at the bed she has been sleeping on.
She didn´t know what sort of material the bed was made of, but strangely, it was very soft. In contrast, the blanket seemed to be made of common silk weave, with a few decorations tinged on it.
Although her mind was working much better than before, she still felt dizzy and confused. Immediately calming herself down, she closed her fiery red eyes and concentrated. And then, her most recent memories started to flow into her mind.
“That bitch…”
The first thing she remembered was of her blessing ceremony. She remembered about the great fairy. She had seen her face in the middle of the blessing although her consciousness was faint then.
The blessings gave Filyir common knowledge about the new world she had embarked into. That knowledge overflowed her mind, coming close to overwriting the memories of her previous life and sending them deep into her subconscious. If that had happened, it would be hard to say if Filyir would ever be able to regain her memories again. However, Filyir was the emperor amongst immortals. She was the handsome overlord that ruled over a tenth of heavens. With the mindset of a peerless immortal cultivator, she had been able to concentrate and recover her memories with just a hint of what was left of them on her consciousness. Unfortunately, many of them were still fuzzy, and many seemed to be missing.
Part of this could be blamed on the way her soul had been shattered before. Although the memories in the subconscious were still possible to salvage, the same couldn´t really be said for any memories shattered in pieces due to the extent of damage she received on her soul before.
Now her soul was now in a completely different shape. If it hadn´t been for her unyielding and arrogant dao heart, it wouldn´t have been weird if her personality even had ended up changing.
But even so, despite her personality and memories being fairly intact for all that has happened to her, there was something that was really bothering her.
It was her existence as Zhen Wang. Even if she was now a completely different living form, and even with her soul crippled, being the incarnation of Zhen Wang, her existence as Zhen Wang naturally should have remained.
But it didn´t. She wasn´t Zhen Wang anymore.
It had been stolen from her.
Her memories were still fuzzy, and the blessing happened when her soul was still unstable, so it wouldn´t be impossible that she was mistaken and that the great fairy was innocent on the matter. However, her intuition would tell differently. Those were very faint memories, but she was certain that she was still holding onto the identity of her existence even after embarking into this new realm in this new body.
But now, it was gone.
There was only one person qualified to declare the existence of Zhen Wang as his own.
Even if heavens declared she wasn´t Zhen Wang, and even if she really wasn´t anymore, there was no way she would ever accept that.
“Fine then. You snatch it from me; I shall snatch it back on the double. The only one qualified to hold the name of Zhen Wang is this emperor!”
She didn´t know the motives behind the great fairy for that, and still wasn't exactly sure how she managed to accomplish something like that. However, even with all those uncertainties, now that the great fairy had made enemies with her, there would be no way in heavens she would let her escape unscratched.
