At the moment, I was sitting with a satisfied look on my face. I had finished all the candies from the box when a maid, who takes care of this floor, came. Melody asked for a towel and began wiping my hands and mouth.
As for Dalton, the guild master, the maid lifted him with unexpected strength as if he was a rag doll and put him on the other sofa just in front of us.
She looked over and Megumi told her what we did to him. Even with her professional poker face, that comes with the job, I noticed the glee in her eyes and the subtle twitches of the side of her lips.
Still she went off to work and brought out a bag of ice and put it on his groin before pulling out a strange small stick. She put it near his face before pulling the top just a small bit. Instantly the room was filled with a stink similar to a dirty barn covered in cow, pig or chicken shit.
I understood now why she opened it carefully. This thing could be a repellant for monsters if you opened too much but you would probably puke as a result.
The man's eyes instantly opened before closing in pain from the stink which was quickly subdued.
The maid went and opened a window and, after organizing the papers so it wouldn't fly from the air coming in, she closed her eyes and began muttering something. Soon a soft breeze came into the office circulating the air and making the stink vanish.
“Thank you, your services for taking care of us, like always, are always well appreciated.” Megumi said.
“Thank you for the compliment, miss.” The maid replied.
She bows slightly before looking at me and makes a small smile and winks my way before leaving.
It was then that I noticed the long pointy ears.
As soon as she left my sparkling eyes fell intensely on Megumi.
“Elf maid?!” I said.
“There is no one better in this city.” She said proudly.
I then looked at the pervert on the other sofa as he grunted about the pain. Yep, I made sure it hurts for a long time but sadly he pulls out a strange pill and chews on it before downing it with water from a canteen.
He sighs in relief and my eyes go to Megumi again.
“Tch, he had healing pills.” Megumi said.
“Pills? Not potions?” I asked.
“Hm, I would have guessed you knew. Pills are general use items while potions are adventurer use items. They're nearly the same thing but pills you chew and drink water. It cuts down on space in your inventory. In a single inventory box you can hold 99 potions but at the same time the same box can hold 999 pills. Also a few Pills can simply be thrown in a potion vial and filled with water and you can make a potion again since their dosage is smaller but more concentrated.” She said.
Wow I guess this is a very modernized fantasy world for sure. It’s a lot more interesting than the regular medieval world, that's for sure. I wonder if I can see steampunk dwarves as well.
“So sweetie, why did you bring that infernal brat here?'' Dalton asked.
“You will register her as a member of the guild.” Megumi demanded.
“Why should I? She could have made me inept.” He complained.
“Kuroko, do you mind showing this trash your full stats and skills.” Megumi asked.
I look a bit but nod and remove the ID plate and call the stats and skills. She took it and held it in front of his face since he was still incapable of standing. His eyes grew wide as he read and he swallowed hard.
“These skills seem best for mage, yet the trait screams tamer or summoner.” He said.
Megumi pulled the plate away and handed it back to me before I closed the status and returned it to its small necklace form. Oh by the way, in that small form it just shows my name, age, class and guild I'm affiliated with.
“I see no reason to deny anymore but she is level 1 and with rather pathetic stats beside her mana reserve. That fragile body also takes away all her possibility of being a close range fighter.” Dalton said.
“Well Megumi said something about an academy.” I replied.
“I want our family to sponsor her in the academy, she doesn't have parents and she told me she woke up in the forest with her memories but all the names she knew were gone so it doesn't help.” Megumi said.
Dalton sighed deeply, “You know how tamers are seen right. I would prefer her waiting to reach 8 years old and focus on training her body so she can at least match a regular kid's strength. Most kids her age already have at least 15 strength already.” He said.
I look at Megumi to confirm this and she nods with a sullen look. So besides the fact that I can manipulate mana and make the coat I am behind.
“You're an adventurer Megumi?” I asked.
“No, for natives, we need to be at least 16 to register at the adventurers guild. I'm 15 right now but since I can register at the tamer guild I can do small capture requests from here.” she replied.
“And the king’s slime capture request is small?” I asked.
“Ah how did it go? Did you get one?” Dalton asked.
My face clenched at the question, “I accidentally tamed the slime when it hid under me.” I replied.
“She suggested a method for the conditions for them to appear. Anyway, Kuroko, come here.” Megumi said.
She waved me over to her father's desk. On it was a strange stone with a magic circle on it.
“Put your ID plate here and pour mana in. You will register to our guild here. The ranking system starts at F and goes up. The full system is F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS, X. X exists for those who explore and return from the continent Mu, the magic continent of Demonic monsters.” She explained.
“They are a unique rank only given to those who can survive an expedition to the continent. Don't think being a SSS means you survive. You need to be able to judge what you can and can't kill and be able to judge a monster's strength.” Dalton explained the unique part about that rank that was clearly more than just power.
After their explanation of the ranks, I put the ID plate on the stone and put my hand over it and poured mana in it and soon the circle shined a bit before going still. I took the plate and on the guild slot was "Tamer Guild" written there. Next to it inside parentheses was a letter F which was my rank for now.
“Good, now then, you can raise your rank by doing requests. Requests that you can do can only be your rank and either a rank up or down which for you currently is F or E rank requests, or if you discover or tame stronger monsters your rank can go up because your fighting power and strength increases as a result since you are a tamer.” She said.
“Sounds simple enough. Is that just it?” I said.
“Pretty much. All guilds are like that but with different requirements depending on the guild. Oh, you might be wondering but those born in this world don’t get a class until we are 10 years old and it is dependent on what you know, what traits you have, what possible blessings you may get and most of all your achievements. Besides that, you can learn as you please for the time being. Also just because you have a certain class doesn’t mean you are limited to the skills from it. I am a tamer but as you saw I learned martial arts because I don’t want to be overly reliant on my tamed monsters. For you I would suggest mage as the main and do exercise so you aren’t too weak when you grow up.” She suggested.
“We can do that as I grow. For now let's leave since we did what we needed. Besides, I want to look around as well as get to discovering the mimic slime conditions. I think they can be the best pets.” I replied.
Megumi laughed and picked me up. I was getting kind of fond of being carried. Maybe it's because my strength is weaker that I didn’t like to walk.
Anyway we head out while thanking the reception girl and leave the man Megumi calls a father to heal up from the beating we gave him.
We teleported to the gate we entered into the city from and found the wolf lazing around.
“You need to tell me how you do that.” I said.
She giggled after I said that and nodded before putting me down and calling the wolf over.
She pulled out a large slab of meat and it started to wag its tail.
It looked a bit into space and suddenly a large pile of small purple balls appeared next to it. There were nearly fifty slime nuclei in there which took me by surprise. She holds the meat out and the wolf grabs it in its jaws and goes over in the shade of the city's wall before laying there and munching away.
Megumi takes the pile of cores and looks them over.
“All normal slime nuclei, good. So how should we do this?” Megumi asked.
“Hm~? Maybe we can tame a slime and tell it to mix the nucleus with its own. Or we can find a slime that is splitting and push the nucleus into one side and see what happens.” I suggested.
We think a bit and decide to tame the slime. It was rather easy, for me. Animals seem to avoid Megumi, which I found a bit strange, but I bet there is some history behind that considering when she spots something she wants she runs after it full speed.

Me on the other hand, just looks around and when I find a lone slime I go over and crouch. It's not aggressive and when I put my hand out it tried to climb in. It was much more slimy than the blue one on my head which is more squishy than slimy.
Still this appears very quickly.

I put the nucleus down and it surrounds the small ball before dragging it next to its own nucleus.

So put simply, slimes don’t even start out with intelligence. No wonder they don’t advance that far. That means something has to push both the splitting slime cores to one slime for it to gain intelligence to start to become a mimic slime.

I put down three more nuclei and tell the slime to merge them with its nucleus.
It does it again and when it merges all of them a new window appears.

I deny the rank up and the window showing +15 intelligence appears. I have it merged with more one by one. Each one increases by five until forty intelligence where I finally got what I wanted.

I smile and accept. The slime in question then begins to change. I feel it absorbs mana in the air and thought it would be interesting. The rank up of a slime makes it release mana and absorb more back into its body. When it absorbs I make sure to pour my mana in and stop when it pushes it out.
With each pull of mana the loose slime bunches up and a thin film forms around it until it looks just like my slime. The final pull causes the slime color to change to a vibrant pink.

With that I complete my mission. I pick up the now nice and squishy pink slime and put it right next to the small blue one on my head and call Megumi.
She sulks over and notices the pink slime.
“I guess I should say it was expected of you huh.” Megumi complained.
“Sorry if this is mean but how are you a tamer?” I asked
“That is mean.” She pouts and sulks.
“If you want to know what you are doing wrong then I will tell you. Don't run after the animals with so much intent. Come here let me show you.” I said
I pulled her near a slime. I walk slowly and stop about a half meter away and crouch and make Megumi crouch.
“Put your hand faced up and don't show your intent to want it. Let it decide.” I instructed.
She did as I said and slowly extended her shaking hand. The slime sees that and moves close and wiggles a bit before raising a slime tentacle and dropping it over her hand.
Her face shows shock before happiness. She lifts her hand and hugs me tightly.
“THANK YOU SO MUCH!” She shouted.
I guess she had it hard. She likes small things yet they avoid her because no one ever corrected her approach.
I then tell her about the conditions being a slime having 40 intelligence. I also told her that I got the pink color because I added more mana.
She fed her slime and when it finally reached the conditions it ranked up and I helped out with my mana. It came out a pink color just like the other one.
Megumi was saying that this would make things even better because it was a princess so pink would suit her much more.
It seems pink is also a really rare color for a slime. I did check the amount of mana it had and because of my interference it had a trait called overdose which gave it 200 points of MP more than a regular slime.
Megumi says that blue ones like my first slime are ranked 4th most rare and followed by orange then Red and finally pink in that order.
No skin off my back. I was happy to have a new pet that I hope to soon train with. Still I need to start doing physical exercises soon.
Because of this, I ask Megumi if a dojo or training arena exists. I told her it would be best to do as her father said and enroll me in someplace that can help me with my physical strength condition.
She understood and did like me put the slime on her head and unsummoned the wolf before we headed into town.
First off we went to the tamer's guild and dropped the slime off. The receptionist brought out a small box that emitted mana and the slime was put inside before it was closed.
I asked what it was and the girl explained that this was a magic item used to untame slimes. There were many sizes from boxes to cage which were used to untame since people sometimes tame to sell monsters.
It's a perfectly legal market though to me, it felt like slavery. At least these were monsters that were retamed and not put up for summoners to summon.
Megumi received a small bag and when she pulled out the coins there were six gold coins. She picked up three and handed them to me.
“This is for helping me out. It's very little compared to the knowledge of how to make mimics, not only that there might be a bonus if the princess likes the slime more.” she said.
“No problem. A gold coin is a lot so it will last.” I said.
Yep, three gold will last me a while. The money here follows the traditional metal coin system. Copper, iron, silver, gold. Each coin needs 100 coins of the previous rank to form 1 of the higher coin so 100 copper makes 1 iron. Definitely the easiest system of currency in existence besides sci-fi games which use credits which is the same as the regular real world currency.
After that she takes me to an even bigger stadium but this one has a roof that opens and closes and currently it's closed.
She took me around until we finally stopped in a field with young kids doing martial arts and at the head was a beautiful and very fit tan woman wearing some short shorts for training gear and a tight sports bra. I could see the lecherous eyes staring at her.
“That is instructor Belladona Getov. She is an Amazon who came to live in the city and ended up the instructor here. She is quite fond of kids and can tell apart each kid's strengths and weaknesses both physically and mental.” Megumi explained.
“So she can tell if the kid is stupid or cocky and train them properly.” I said.
“Bingo~!” Megumi said.
As we talked, the Amazon noticed us and told everyone to continue while she was busy.
She then walks over with a smile and hugs Megumi who had her back turned before groping her boobs.
“So Megumi, back for some more training, kukuku.” Belladona said while chuckling in an overly perverted manner.
“Kya~! T-t-t-t-t-t-teacher, p-p-please not here!” Megumi exclaimed.
In moments she notices me and lets Megumi go and before moving her out of the way and crouching, putting her at eye level with me.
Instantly I felt like I was being watched by a dangerous predator who was about to attack.
“Hello, my name is Belladona Getov, I'm the main kids' instructor here and you are?” She asked
I was shivering at the intensity of her pressure that leaked. Suddenly a pair of hands picked me up. When I looked it was Megumi who was beet red from both rage and embarrassment.
“Stop letting your pressure leak, you lolicon. You're scaring her and the other kids.” Megumi shouteed.
She blinked and looked back to see all the kids had backed away. She laughed a bit noticing the trouble she caused and told them to go back to training before looking back, this time less predatory like.
“'Well then, introductions please.” she said, trying to push the subject.
“I'm Kuroko Ginshiro.”
“And why have you brought this doll to this sweaty gym?” Belladona asked.
“She has a fragile body and her physical stats are five points. She needs special training fit for her fragile construction.” Megumi explained.
The amazon's eyes grew sharp as she asked Megumi to put me down. She crouched and then pulled my head and made us touch foreheads while her eyes were closed.
“I see, you can't acquire strength by normal means. Your body is highly fragile so we can't do unorthodox training yet. Hm~! The most I can offer which is out of the ordinary is gravity weights. They adjust to the wearer's strength up to 40 points in both strength and agility.” She said.
“That is more than enough. She will aim for tamer anyway and will probably end up like me using martial arts after getting some strength or magic.” Megumi said.
The amazon nodded and yelled out to one of the old men gawking at us. She made him go to the storeroom and return with two small black wristbands and a small metal ankle weights.
“They look strange but what you need is something practical to use gear rather than beautiful gear.” She said.
“It's no problem if you want something well done, you have to give something up. Also I don't really care about looks.” I said.
“Not exactly what I want to hear from a young girl but I still have time to teach you properly fufufu.” She said
A sudden shiver ran down my spine as I looked at the smiling amazon.
When I looked at Megumi she looked at me with pity which only worked to make me more scared to the point of hiding behind her like a real five year old.
“Ok, Miss Bella, we know you like the girl now, stop scaring her and all the others before we need to close the lessons here.” Megumi said, coming to the rescue.
Just like me, all the kids were hiding behind the adults. A few of them just chuckled while some were laughing out loud at what happened. Getting me out was quick though. She simply took the wrist and leg guards and then picked me up before leaving.
I want to stay away as much as possible. No! I never want to go back, this place is too scary. It makes my old martial arts masters look like a joke. That woman, without a doubt in my mind, is a walking apocalypse. I pity any man who tries to seduce her and pisses her off.
Megumi teleported us to the gate again and then walking outside she strapped the small metal ankle weights and wrist bands. With each one I felt my body get heavy. It’s at the point where I need to put a bit of force to lift the limb.
“This is going to suck.” I said.
“Suck it up. You are her target now and she won't stop until she makes you beautiful.” Megumi said.
I looked at her with a worried expression which begged for an answer I didn't want to know.
Megumi smiled, “Amazon logic, someone beautiful is someone who looks good and is also physically powerful.” she said.
I could feel my eyes well up with tears of despair knowing that monster had targeted me.
“Nothing we can do, let's just walk for now. We can take the time to train those two as well. Since you’re like this, let me teach you how to train a monster.” she said.
